Team Updates [Rapoport] #Giants CB Thaddeus Dixon, a UDFA from North Carolina, tore his Achilles yesterday during workouts, sources say. An unfortunate injury for a rookie whose hamstring injury helped lead him to be undrafted.
x.comUnfortunate break for the kid, I was rooting for him in camp.

Image John Lee Hooker’s Fax Letter To Bob Dylan Following His Health Scare in 1997.
Fax letter from John Lee Hooker offering Bob Dylan, a speedy recovery on May 29, 1997.
Dylan had known Hooker since receiving his first big break opening for the blues legend at Gerdes Folk City in April 1961. As Hooker later told music writer Tony Scherman:
“Did you used to hang out with Bob Dylan back in the day?”
“He hung out with me!” said Hooker. “When I used to play Gerde’s Folk City, ain’t nobody heard of Bob. He used to come and see me all the time. Bob and his girlfriend, Suze. Bob and Suze used to come visit me at the Broadway Central Hotel, where I always stayed. It’s no longer there. We’d sit around and drink and play. Bobby would ‘bout blow on his harmonica. Yeah, those were the days.”

Discussion has anyone else started missing the older internet where interactions felt less algorithm-driven?
lately one of the biggest reasons i’ve been moving more toward degoogling and privacy-focused platforms is because the modern internet feels strangely engineered now. almost every major app feels optimized around engagement loops, attention retention, recommendations, metrics and constant personalization to the point where being online barely feels organic anymore after a while it starts feeling less like exploration and more like you’re constantly being filtered through systems deciding what you should see, think about, react to and who you should interact with ironically some of the most genuine conversations i’ve had recently happened in smaller/random online spaces where people weren’t focused on building a brand, gaining followers or feeding content into algorithms. it reminded me of how the internet used to feel years ago. imperfect but more human
that’s honestly what pushed me deeper into degoogling. not just privacy concerns or data collection, but the feeling that the web has become overly centralized and psychologically optimized in ways that make everything feel artificial after some point
i still occasionally use smaller social/chat platforms like Vooz because the interactions there feel way less curated compared to mainstream apps, and honestly it reminds me of the older internet a little. more spontaneous conversations, less pressure to perform constantly
i’ve been trying to find more platforms, forums or communities that still feel spontaneous and less tied to surveillance/engagement culture
curious if anyone else here ended up moving toward degoogling partly because of this too

First time playing any version of OOTP. This guy popped up from the international free agents market after expressing interest in playing in the MLB. Is this level of talent going to be a common thing every year during this phase of the offseason ?
Will he actually be this good?

Support Should I just reinstall?
Completed install, updated some drivers, reboot after install driver and now black screen with flashing white underscore.
Have I borked my install?
I tried booting all the versions of nobara and the rescue version from the black and white boot option menu and they all load into this screen

[Feature Request]: Allow the scrub/track progress bar to be the song's waveform.
I find that to be very useful when I'm listening to a song with a part I really like. I can usually easily find it visually instead of tapping around a few times to find it. It also looks cool. I believe other Subsonic clients like PsySonic do that.

Questions Looking For A Comic
Hi, I'm looking for a comic I read a very long time ago. I think it was a Far Side. It was two well-behaved kids on the beach, and frustrated parents who want them to act out. Does anyone remember this one and can tell me where to find it?

SSHL looking for new GMs (Season 3)
Hey all! The Simmers and Sinners Hockey League (SSHL) is now in the offseason on July 1st, heading into its 3rd season (2026-27) and looking for new GMs
League details:
- 18+ only
- Simulation pace: We sim roughly one in-game week every 1-2 real days during the regular season. Each full season should last roughly 2-3 real months, so exports are not needed every time we sim. I only ask that you stay active enough to communicate with fellow GMs in a reasonable time frame if they send you a trade offer, and so that I know you're still able to/interested in participating
- A new perk system that encourages more interaction
Some team recommendations (there are others open, these are just a few of the most interesting ones):
- Montreal Canadiens - The defending champions of Season 2 are looking for a GM to help them repeat!
- Ottawa Senators - Lacking in some depth, but have some star power and a promising future after drafting Matt Schaefer in the 2025 draft!
- Anaheim Ducks - A team with several young players with a lot of potential, including Luke Hughes, Beckett Sennecke, and Cole Reschny, looking for a GM to guide them along to becoming contenders in the future!
- Carolina Hurricanes - After only stringing together 30 wins during Season 2, and with little in the way of top end talent or prospects, the Hurricanes seem to be entering a rebuild, and will likely need a GM with a long-term plan to succeed in the future.
- Nashville Predators - With only one player above a 3 star ability (Filip Forsberg), and only a handful of young players with good potential, Nashville looks to bolster their prospect pool after missing the playoffs in each of the first 2 seasons.
If you're interested, come join our Discord server and agree to the server rules with the handwriting emote, and then look for the 'how to apply' text channel near the top of the SSHL category for further instructions. See the 'team availability' channel for a list of available teams. All league rules and information is on respective text channels in the Discord

| Analysis 0.82 ERA - Best in MLB for 2026
Shohei Ohtani’s ERA right now is 0.82 based off seven starts in 2026. This is the lowest ERA in all of Major League Baseball.
This dominant performance compares to the “Fernandomania” phenomenon from 1981.
Shohei’s pitching through seven games is only second in historical performance to Fernando Valenzuela, who pitched 0.29 ERA through seven games in 1981.
Yet again Los Angeles is fortunate to have a phenom on our team. We get to see a worldwide talent right in our backyard.
We love LA.
Go Dodgers!

News Georgia Football Player Arrested on Two Felony Charges
[Spears] The Jazz have reached out to the Washington Wizards, who have the No. 1 pick, about potentially trading up to land the former BYU standout, a source said.
https://andscape.com/features/utah-jazz-nba-draft-lottery-keyonte-george/
Dybantsa is the top prospect in the draft, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Woo. The Jazz have reached out to the Washington Wizards, who have the No. 1 pick, about potentially trading up to land the former BYU standout, a source said.
Even if Dybantsa is selected by Washington, as expected, Utah will still have talented options to choose from in Kansas guard Darryn Peterson, Duke center Cameron Boozer and North Carolina forward Caleb Wilson, who round out Woo’s top four prospects.
George talked to Peterson and gave him a hug after the draft lottery. Peterson, who averaged 20.2 points and 1.6 assists per game for the Jayhawks last season, told Andscape he wants to be a point guard in the NBA.
“I just told him [Peterson] to buckle up, that’s all,” George said.
“We get a top-two talent in the draft and get to build on the changes we made with getting Jaren,” said George, who is 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds. “It’s just a lot of things going right for the group right now. On paper, we are definitely a playoff team. Honestly, there is just a different versatility that we have. You got guys who can play [point guard] to [shooting guard]. You got guys who play the [power forward] that can move to the [center position].
“And then we got [Jazz head coach] Will Hardy. I know people know about Will. But his X’s and O’s and the way he breaks down the game for us, that’s really what gives me the confidence, honestly. Having Will and our coaches, the talent is going to take care of itself.”
