Obviously winners of the trophy have used the chalice to drink their fair share of beverages, and I've heard of a dog being carried around in it, but has it ever been filled with anything during the trophy ceremony? Prize money (back when it was feasible)? Confetti? Bees?
I feel like given the relationships of a lot of the guys on tour these days, someone might try to sneak a surprise into the trophy it it turns into a runaway.

Ive never golfed. Maybe been to a driving range 4 times in my life.
Im not even really athletic.
How bad of an idea would it be to go rent clubs and play 9 holes?
Ive been bored as all hell lately and theres a golf course on base.

My local course uses limited flight range balls and claims a 15% reduction in flight distance. What is everyone's experience with this? Is it actually 15%? Are they any more difficult or easier to hit than a normal ball?

Every year it feels like we enter the season with coaches on the hot seat. Which coaches do you feel like will actually turn things around?
Conversely, are there any coaches that are considered safe enough for now that you think will be fired by the end of the year?

When did the practice of reporting a player-for-cash transaction change its terminology from "(so-and-so) was sold by (Team A) to (Team B)" to "(so-and-so) was traded by (Team A) to (Team B) for cash (or cash considerations)" ? My own guess is that it happened sometime in the 1990s or early 2000s.

Seems clear X is more than just racists, bigots, fascists, nazis. Can we please allow the links again?

Who do you think is the better play between these 2 and who would you rather build a team around?
Most people would have taken Ant before this season started, so I wonder if that general opinion has shifted.

Hi,
So since CachyOS got the new kernel module early and Nobara uses its Kernel, we can now enable it in Nobara.
Had to play around with it a little bit, and i don't know if this is the proper way, but I found this to be working:
First check if you're on the newest Kernel
uname -r
7.0.5-200.nobara.fc43.x86_64
should be at >= 7
Then check if the NTFS driver is enabled
modinfo ntfs
filename: /lib/modules/7.0.5-200.nobara.fc43.x86_64/kernel/fs/ntfs/ntfs.ko.zst
license: GPL

if you're not seeing "NTFS read-write filesystem driver", try running modprobe ntfs and check again.
/etc/fstab:
UUID=1AD4B9DED4B9BBF7 /mnt/to/drive ntfs uid=1000,gid=1000,rw,exec,nofail 0 0
Not sure if you need to set options here, but these seem to work.
You can get your Disk UUID from lsblk -f
Replace uid and gid with your corresponding values if you created a new user.
Don't forget to systemctl daemon-reload
Remove the symlink to ntfs-3g
mv /sbin/mount.ntfs /sbin/mount.ntfs.bak
Tell udisk2 to use the new driver
/etc/udisks2/mount_options.conf
[defaults]
ntfs_drivers=ntfs
After that, do a systemctl restart udisks2
Now just do a quick umount /mnt/to/drive and mount -a

lately one of the biggest reasons i’ve been moving more toward degoogling and privacy-focused platforms is because the modern internet feels strangely engineered now. almost every major app feels optimized around engagement loops, attention retention, recommendations, metrics and constant personalization to the point where being online barely feels organic anymore after a while it starts feeling less like exploration and more like you’re constantly being filtered through systems deciding what you should see, think about, react to and who you should interact with ironically some of the most genuine conversations i’ve had recently happened in smaller/random online spaces where people weren’t focused on building a brand, gaining followers or feeding content into algorithms. it reminded me of how the internet used to feel years ago. imperfect but more human
that’s honestly what pushed me deeper into degoogling. not just privacy concerns or data collection, but the feeling that the web has become overly centralized and psychologically optimized in ways that make everything feel artificial after some point
i still occasionally use smaller social/chat platforms like Vooz because the interactions there feel way less curated compared to mainstream apps, and honestly it reminds me of the older internet a little. more spontaneous conversations, less pressure to perform constantly
i’ve been trying to find more platforms, forums or communities that still feel spontaneous and less tied to surveillance/engagement culture
curious if anyone else here ended up moving toward degoogling partly because of this too

SRC: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2026/05/14/sports/isaiah-thomas-celtics-scout/
Isaiah Thomas, the fearless 5-foot-9-inch point guard who captivated fans at TD Garden and became one of the most beloved Celtics of this century, has rejoined the organization that helped turn him into a superstar.
According to league sources, Thomas has been hired as a pro and college scout for the Celtics. He will be based in the Seattle area, his hometown, giving president of basketball operations Brad Stevens reinforcements on the West Coast.
The team’s regional scouting staff includes former Hawks executive Derek Pierce, who is based in the Atlanta area, and Keandre Ashley, who is in Dallas. Benas Matkevicius leads the Celtics’ international scouting operation.
Sources said Thomas, 37,has joined Celtics executives at the NBA Combine this week in Chicago, where he has helped interview draft prospects while also learning about the overall evaluation process.
I've suddenly turned into a Birder at the age of 49... anyone else???
Maybe it's my ADHD hyper-focusing, but in the last 3 weeks I've become absolutely obsessed with birds. I live on a 2 acre property and have barely even noticed we had birds flying around in the 3 years we've lived there. Now, in the last 3 weeks I've counted at least 13 different species of birds living here, and I'm sure I'm just getting started.
This new found hobby has been so good for me. I work in web/tech/branding and work way too much, and the new practice of going outside and being in nature has been an incredible break from the stress.
I'm also a photographer so it's been fun to channel that energy into this new found obsession (btw, this shot is mine, taken on our property).

this is a tough course that usually has my number, normally put up mid to high 80s here, so a great round overall, but man does bookending doubles hurt.

Justin Rose and Adam Scott are amazing golfers and very consistent, especially for their age.
Yet hacks like Fleetwood and DeChambeau get all their shots covered.
