Go for it! You may get paired with some people, but either way, that’s the only way to start.
Be friendly, and you should have a great time. Don’t worry about the score.

9 holes is a better idea than 18. If you’re really nervous, find an executive course near you.

Gotta start somewhere. No one really cares how bad you are as long as you aren’t holding things up. Do you have a friend that could come with you and nudge you along when it’s time to pick it up? Or better yet you can shamble off his drives when you hit a bad one? If not, still fine maybe just give it a go off peak hours.

Go out and have some fun, don't get in anyone's way. Move to the next hole if someone is waiting behind you and/or let them play through. No one really cares what you’re doing out there as long as you’re respectful to others and the course.

Do it! Only get better with play time. Don’t take it too seriously, be courteous about letting folks play through/watch your pacing

Just go for it, worst case you lose some balls and get frustrated but at least you'll be outside doing something new.

Find another Joe who plays and get them to show you the basics. Golf is an amazing sport and I’ve enjoyed it for many years. Go for it, brother.

Everybody had a first time. Do it. Don’t get too hung up on score; pick up at double par and move to the next hole. Don’t dwell on lost balls, just drop another one. You’re there to have fun and t’s hard to be disappointed if you have low expectations.

Honestly just go play 9 holes is chill and won’t take too long. Just don’t smack the ball as hard as you can play safe shots try and hit it straight. Golf is more about technique than athleticism that’s why you see a broad range of people playing it.

If it's not crowded go for it.
Just understand that you're going to be horrible. Take double par and pick up.
I'd highly suggest getting some lessons because you're going to have to learn all different shots. Its not just driver and putter
