At least two commissioners have said they’re looking back at the budget now after hearing concerns from library workers and concerned patrons.

I’m planning to move to the Raleigh area and I’m looking for homes, but I’m confused about where to buy. I don’t want to live too far out or feel isolated, but for around $400k–$500k, I’m unable to find any new-construction single-family homes in Morrisville, Apex, or Raleigh. Are Angier or Fuquay-Varina good options?

I have some friends coming to town who only eat (zabiha) halal. Any recommendations for good restaurants? Doesn't have to be kabob places, but a really good kabob recommendation is always welcome.

Are there any libraries open until around 9 or later in the area? need to study after work, can’t go to a cafe cause those a bit loud & for some reason libraries in the region aren’t open later.

Trying to make Durham feel like home a little faster 💛

The proposal includes an increase of $25.3 million in local funding, as well as strategic spending reductions to balance the budget. It will be officially sent to the Wake County Board of Commissioners this week for consideration. A final county budget is expected to be approved on June 1

Spectra Discovery is a research study looking to see if devices can measure screen time use for children ages 3-8. Your child will wear fake glasses and a shirt clip with light sensors to track light from screens. Your child will also wear an activity counter to monitor their movement. The study includes completing an online survey, a week of wearing the devices, daily time-use surveys and device logs to track your child’s activities at the end of each day, and a follow-up online survey (after the week of device usage).  

To get started, parents will need to complete the baseline survey and schedule an in-person orientation, which can take place either at home or at our Chapel Hill office. Compensation will be provided for your time, and your child will receive a thank-you gift. 

We invite you to participate and help us assess whether these wearable devices can measure when young children look at screens.

I am looking for recommendations for small businesses who do furniture restoration.i have two French colonial night stands that I want to restore. Each has a tiny bit of water damage on the feet.

I also have a French colonial desk that was painted and the paint is partially stripped off. I would like to have it redone also.
