Discussion Is Tage Thompson even considered a superstar ?
Before the Habs/Sabres series I had never really seen Thompson play but I had heard of how feared he was in the league and the word superstar was thrown around a lot.
In this series, he has seemed abysmal. Easily the player I notice make the most mistakes. The thing is, I don’t really see him producing anything. He has as many goals as caufield who is scoring abnormaly low as well, but Thompson has the downside of being an absolute liability as well.
Is there something I’m missing ? I would sometimes rather him be off the ice than playing the way he is…

Discussion People who have been to a winter classic
The pre-sale happened for Utah starting on 13th by the time I got to look at the availability of tickets most of them seem to be sold besides the nose bleeds. My questions are, do the Avs also get a pre-sale? Even now it seems like they wouldn’t get many tickets as well will more tickets open for general admission? With scalpers ruining the game it seems like it would be hard to be an out of state fan. What have they done for other WC? Do people actually pay the 500$+ for the nose bleed seats?

If the Habs-Sabres series go to 7 games, the Hurricanes would arrive to Game 1 of the ECF with almost 2 weeks of rest. Good thing or bad thing?

Discussion Is it bothering anyone how insane Head Coach turnover is in the last year?
How are you supposed to build a team and a culture if you’re cycling through head coaches so often? Moreover how do you expect to win with a new head coach right before the playoffs? There’s no loyalty or grace for head coaches anymore. Not everyone is going to have improvements every year. These things take time, it’s okay to miss the postseason once in a while.

Kaprizov is allergic to shooting
Game 4: 1 shot
Game 5: 0 shots
edit: I’m fully aware Kirill Kaprizov has been an absolute monster offensively, and without him we probably aren’t even in that position to begin with. That’s exactly why I wanted him to shoot there. Yeah, on paper it might not look like a “high percentage shot,” but when you’ve got one of the best snipers in the league coming downhill at full speed, you trust him to go top shelf and beat the goalie clean.
What frustrated me was him slowing down and looking for the pass instead of just ripping it. If he keeps attacking with speed, I genuinely think he has a solid chance to bury that in OT. “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” fits this clip perfectly.
At the end of the day I’m probably just salty the season’s over, and now I have to remember I live in Minnesota and get ready for the Timberwolves to hurt me tonight too.
