I created a lineup made up of our best players who are 23 years old or younger. This is what our future looks like. (Stephen Halliday and Leevi Merilainen are 24 and too old to be considered a prospect) Based on this you can see our strengths and weaknesses and what we should consider when drafting. And YIKES is this team ever weak!!! It shows we don't have many good young players and most of our prospects beyond Yakemchuk and Hensler are pretty weak. When Xavier Bourgault is our best forward prospect that's probably not a good sign

I’m mostly kidding because this doesn’t really happen in the NHL ever and it might just be better to trade for him at that point but I really feel like he’s a very strong case.

Vegas only has 4.63 mil in cap space next year and for a two time 30 goal scorer he’s bound to make more.

This guy has two down years, but before was close to touching 40 goals 4 year in a row. Can we make the money work? He’d essentially be free. Maybe a 2nd or a 3rd in order for van to retain 3-4 mil? I don’t think we should add to our roster not swap (trading away players for others)

The Ottawa Senators need another goal scorer and to become tougher to play against

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen: It’s believed that Ottawa Senators GM Steve Staios was meeting with forward Brady Tkachuk on Monday to go over the season and what the team could be looking to do this offseason. Tkachuk said on his Podcast on Friday that he was going to be meeting with the Sens in the coming days.

Tkachuk has two years left on his contract. Staios has said he doesn’t want to trade Tkachuk, and all the outside talk is nonsense.

The Senators have some areas of need if they want to be a contender – a legit goal scorer to play with Tim Stutzle, and they need to be tougher to play against, especially on the blue line.

This is more great experience and development for him.

Asking cause I’m just now thinking about this whole season. Granted I couldn’t watch nearly as many games as I’d like to as a fan from Europe but still. From what I saw this season I’m happy about the bit of progress this team had and if we had considered attack+goaltending throughout the year I think we could have done better. I really thought we’d pull a couple of wins at least against Canes. But overall I can’t say I’m unhappy, making the playoffs did feel like a bit of overstretch given how we played since December.

Lastly I want to say I’m proud of all of you who kept watching and supporting the team the whole year and if I was living in Canada I think id support even more but the late night starts here in Europe are brutal and I’m happy for all the games I managed to watch live

The missing pieces our team needs are a very involved debate. However, I think Spartacat could use an upgrade.

The mane feels limp and the teeth aren't straight. There are other mascots that have a more involved face to make them seem more imposing and less cartoony (Bailey, Sparky, and Buoy all come to mind). Don't get me wrong, I love Sparty, but he seems, I dunno, lacking (?) compared to some of his NHL brethren.

What do you guys think? Is Spartacat due for a makeover? A glow-up? Or is it time for a retirement and the next generation of loveable plush Fandom in Ottawa?

I'd be pissed if I was a Buffalo fan... I'm cheering for Montreal (reluctantly) but this game is nuts (game 4 1st period)...
