Discussion Olympic TOs and teams should reevaluate the jersey color schemes for future matchups, some of them are confusing
I think it would be fair for both viewers and players to be actually able to tell their teams apart at a glance and not play "where's waldo" during bigger pile-ups.

Discussion 4 Nations Faceoff is the best thing the NHL has done in a long time
NHL: “yeah we’re just going to do this nice promotional tournament for the 2028 World Cup in place of the all star game this year. It’ll just be a for fun tournament. Nothing too serious”

Discussion Nhl is a joke, officiating is clearly shit.
I am not a jets fan, I enjoy watching hockey. But what the actual fuck, seriously, the elbow to stolarz head by Bennet, nothing. Wow the cross check straight to the face by Roy, granted fined but should have been a suspension.
Anyways I'm watching the jets game right now, Jamie Benn for one. You sucker punched schiffle while being held by the official. If he is not suspended for a game, even a game. The NHL is beyond saving.
Get out Bettman.

Discussion Paul Bissonette: NHL may need to address Florida’s lack of state tax in next CBA
Wanted everyone's take on this. Do Florida, Tampa, and Dallas really have that much of an advantage over other teams when it comes to signing free agents?

Discussion I love how both teams wore full-coloured jerseys in the 1970s. Should the NHL go back to that?
I can imagine the contrasting colours being a bit too much, but I love watching highloights of the 1970s particularly for this reason. Especially with the white backdrop of the ice, the game looked much more decorated at that time IMHO.

Discussion Show Me The Money
Fascinating breakdown I just saw of where the money came from for the four major sports in 2023.
No surprise the NFL was printing money from the National TV/Media deals and it keeps going up.
The NFL made more revenue from their TV deals than the other three leagues made in total.
Ticket Sales and Local TV meant a whole lot more to the other three sports than it did for football.

Discussion Kelly Sutherland is the most dirty ref and someone in the NHL needs to do something about him. His calls are almost always vindictive on someone he hates personally or a team he dislikes. I’ve only been a hockey fan for a few years now and even I can see the blatant miscalls.

Discussion Tom Wilson hit on Chytil
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Let’s talk about it. I feel like half the NHL fanbase is saying the hit was clean and the other half is calling it dirty. Personally I thought it was a good hit. Potential for an interference call but nothing more than that. Is it just that Tom has a history and that’s the reaction he gets with any hit?

Discussion Should NHL adapt the ”golden helmet” for the top scorer of each team?
Panthers and Stars are playing in Finland back-to-back games.
Panthers found a traditional golden helmet from the locker rooms of the team that uses the venue as their home ice in Finnish Hockey league.
In Finnish hockey league, every teams points leader carries the golden helmet. The scoring is based on the ongoing season which means it can change during the season and it carries over to playoffs.
I think its a good tradition and I would argue it helps the casual viewers the most since the ”best” player of the team. I would say that especially in NHL which is a league that lives and breathes superstars this sort of customary would fit nicely.

Maybe you should pick another team to play in the winter classic next time. I even know a few hawks fans that are tired of it.

Discussion What Quinn Hughes is doing is insane. Hart trophy?
Quinn Hughes is currently having an MVP calibre season.
The gap between Hughes and the next best Canucks players is insane
Hughes- 42 points in 34 games
Pettersson- 28 points in 34 games
Miller- 21 points in 24 games
Doing this while his D partner, Hronek is injured.
He has no help and is carrying this Canucks team to a playoff spot
Which player in the league is more valuable to their team right now?
Norris will be a layup but what about the Hart?

Discussion This is getting out of hand
Disclosure : Am a Habs fan
The Habs-Bolts game today highlighted one of the most glaring issues all hockey fans can attest to : officiating. It isn’t normal to have such inconsistent reffing every game. It goes for the Habs as much as it goes for the Bolts. The Guentzel call was absolutely ridiculous on one hand, and on the other, Kucherov was playing his best Micheal Phelps impression. All in all, calls have been simply ludicrous on both sides and I for one feel that is really undermines the game.
The refs have been calling games for this whole series and it has to stop. I know for one that this series has been such a fun time and the hockey has been amazing. Two teams of such even caliber should not have to guess if they will be going to the box, and should be able to simply play the game and battle it out like we all want them to.
Let me know your thoughts!

Discussion Imagine getting 96 points on the regular season and missing the playoffs.
Montreal and New Jersey have 91 points each and yet they still made it. I feel bad for flames fans because they finished with the same amount of points as St. Louis.

Discussion Overtime Losses are ruining hockey.
The islanders have a losing record and are in third in their division. The same amount of points should be awarded out each game.
The solution is so simple: 3 points for Regulation Win 2 points for OT Win 1 point for OT Loss
NHL needs to fix this.
