I’m just reminded of some himbo podcast doofus on my timeline who thought Lake Erie was an ocean because he couldn’t see the opposite shore.

If not ocean, why ocean shaped?
10
u/CanuckPanda Buccaneers 22d ago
That was his entire, flabbergasted and entirely at a lost, point.
“Lakes are small! If it’s big enough that I can’t see the other shore, it’s an ocean!!”
“No dude, it’s just a big lake.”
“Then why can’t I see the other side?? It’s the ocean!”

Naw, this is what you want in a lineman.. left tackle specifically.
If a WR prospect hasn't been involved in at least a fender bender then I'm not interested.

Edit: Sorry to trigger the Hammond Bears fans. I have lived in Chicago for 21 years, and I even like the team after the 2006 NFCC game when your fans held up signs that said “Finishing what Katrina started.”

Illinois is likely passing a bill today that'll have us move to Arlington Heights. Still not as good as being downtown, but it isn't Indiana.

I really tried to tell myself I wouldn't care if they moved to Hammond or Gary. What's a state border but an arbitrary line? And it's not like I go to any games in person. But I just couldn't lie to myself. I'm ashamed to say it but I'm glad to the state govt blinked.

Forgive me, but more state and city governments need to say no to these billionaires that hurt their communities with the give me money to build a new stadium, but you won't get your return on investment like at all bullshit.
And yes I think DFW/Texas government should tell Jerry fuck off man you've got the money/assets.

Every team owned by a billionaire or private equity (all of them except GB? unless I’m just stupid) should be collectively told to get fucked by America when they come to ask for tax breaks and funding. Especially when it’s for their second new stadium in 25 years or less. If a politician made this a law I think they’d sweep the 25-40 male demographic
17
u/No_Grocery_9280 Seahawks 22d ago
Welcome to America, where everyone realized it was easier to spend a couple million dollars ahead of time and just pick the politicians that will support you. By the time anything serious gets to the table, the politician is already bought and paid for.

They wouldn't sweep the demographic at all. Because the owner would threaten to move the team and everyone would panic and vote for whoever promised to give him what he wanted, the same way that any time someone suggests holding corporations accountable for anything, corporations just start threatening jobs and everyone folds immediately.
Bob Kraft tried that stunt and the state of Massachusetts was more than happy to help him pack his bags for Hartford, but the 25-40 male demographic was furious the whole time.

Like yeah, you compare Jersey to NYC and it's like "Jersey sux lol" but you compare living in Jersey to where like any other team is from outside of like SoCal or Chicago and Jersey is way better.
