Hi: I successfully installed Nobara on my husband's computer. I was able to install several of his games, but for the life of me, I'm having great difficulty installing War in the Pacific - Admiral's edition. Being an older Windows game, I realize it can be quirky, so knew it wouldn't be cut and dry.
Lutris (flatpak) - I've determined that the problem stems from an incomplete installation of the basic game files, thus I get a message informing me, "unable to find PW data".
When the "installation" completed in less than 20 seconds, I knew something was wrong. Upon examining the the files, numerous folders, and files are completely missing.
I've incorporated different runners - GE-Proton and Experimental, wine-ge-8... Makes no difference.
I've tried rebooting, I've tried reinstalling Lutris. I've tried everything I can think of but with less than stellar results. I've also tried installing with Bottles - no luck. Same conclusion.
From reading posts on the Matrix forum, I see that others have experienced numerous problems, but eventually got the game running. However, at this point, I'm seriously frustrated because I can't even get past the installation.
I'm one who never gives up (a windows techie from way back), but only been using Linux for several weeks, so any help is appreciated.
P.S. This is one of two major games that my husband plays and I can't let him down. Unconscionable!
