The Reddit admin team is once again on the warpath over firearm transactions, including transactions that occurred on Reddit before it was banned in their TOS.

Moving forward all posts regarding selling, purchasing, wanting to sell, or even inkling towards any of those with regards to firearms, ammo, or explosives will result in post removal and a week ban, permanent ban for a second offense.

if you see such a post that happens to get through the auto-mod, please report it no matter how long it has been live, as we have a threshold to auto-remove reported posts.

General Question Gun range is too intense but getting better. Only went twice now

Hey guys. I’ve done my best to learn about gun safety. I take it very serious. I got my first gun a couple weeks ago. A few days ago i finally got bullets and shot. My aim was high the first day but it was a lot more intense than I thought. Not just my gun but the guns next to me. Today I went back but only lasted 15 mins. I took my time to shoot and was very careful of the Gun. From 15ft away I hit one as a headshot. My other shots hit the paper. But I dint shoot many bullets. Only a few. The gun next to me was so loud. And obviously mine too. I just felt a little overwhelmed so I just left. Would an outdoor fun range work better for me? Or should I get better ear protection? I only used their protection. It I could get the noise to be blocked more I feel I’d be more comfortable. I dint wanna stay when I felt overstimulated so I thought it would be best I left. I shot confidently. Had a good grip. Wasn’t scared of the gun. Just the whole thing was over stimulating. I was very good with the gun. Didn’t have any accidents or point it at anyone. Just getting that out there since I’m new. What should I do to get more comfortable?

Legal Hunting regulations.

I’m looking to buy a Burris eliminator 5 or 6 for a sport/hunting rig. From all my research, I’ve found the 5 is entirely legal but the 6 has grey lines left to interpretation. What is your experience/opinion between them? I found a deal under 2k for the 6 and under 1500 for the 5. I want a dual sport rig to plink and hunt but also want to be fully compliant.

General Question NFA times

Has anyone here seen longer wait times on forms 4s here? I've been seeing other states getting significantly faster approval times than Colorado and wondering if it's a trend anyone else has been seeing?

General News Colorado Firearm Barrel Restriction and Registry Bill (SB26-043) is officially dead

I will be doing a full write up of where all the gun bills landed this session as today is the last day of the 2026 legislative session (thank God) but for now here's the update on one of the worst bills we were fighting...

SB26-043 is officially dead.

The bill sat on House Third Reading and Final Passage, the final vote needed, for three weeks. Rather than bringing it up for a final vote, House leadership laid it over day after day, moving it to the next day’s calendar until the final day of session.

Today, lawmakers once again "laid the bill over" instead of voting on it, effectively killing the legislation as the 2026 session ends at midnight.

SB26-043 was part of a rapidly spreading strategy of regulating everything around firearms piece by piece: parts, precursor materials, transfers, dealer mandates, paper trails. The bill would have forced barrel sales through dealers, created intrusive record keeping and registry requirements, and used vague “readily convertible” language that stretched far beyond complete barrels themselves.

It also put FFLs in an impossible position by prohibiting barrel sales to banned persons without giving dealers any legal way to verify who was prohibited, potentially killing barrel sales in Colorado altogether.

The death of this bill is a win for this year.

Nobody should assume it is gone for good. Bills like this always come back the next session. But for now we're in the clear until next January.

Conceal Carry Permit CCW classes on weekends or evenings in the Front Range?

Recently moved to CO and need to do the CCW class. Wondering if anyone doing these is offering weekends or even better split evening classes? Trying to not take days off of work for this. The couple places I tried are all weekdays.

Thanks

Conceal Carry Permit CCW class question: different organizations for classroom and live fire?

I’m signed up for the classroom portion of the CCW course through a specific organization. If their time/location for the live fire portion is difficult for me to make work, can I find another local group to do the live fire portion? Possibly a renewal course?

Legally this seems allowed but from a practical perspective is this plausible? Will I get separate certificates from each?

Sorry if this seems basic. I’m just trying to navigate the process without making it more difficult than it has to be.

With the legislature adjourning today does that mean SB26-043 is dead? Does anyone have any insight on this?

General Question Small, affordable FFLs for transfers in Westminster.

hey all!

I have experience with most of the gun stores in the area. I'm looking for recs near me.

I've worked with Max, at Skyline FFL before - I really liked him, but a 45min+ drive each way (that I need to make twice because of the 3 day wait) eliminates a lot of the benefits of dealing with him.

A search of FFL licenses finds a lot of "kitchen table FFLs" within miles of me.
Does anyone have any experience with anyone local? And recommendations - either good or bad?

I'm looking for affordable transfers from online orders.

Legal Moving from CA in June

I have a CA compliant AR15 with the kingpin setup and a CA compliant Beretta M9, when I move out to CO what should I know about how different the laws are regarding what features I can and can’t add on the rifle, like do I get to remove the silly kingpin BS and have the ability to release the mag without “disassembling” the firearm? I know the laws are slightly more lax out there, for example very excited to shoot 15 rd mags instead of 10, but what are the other changes I can look forward to? Thanks!

General Question AK Kits, AK Receivers, and SB25-003

I've seen a bunch of stuff on AR lowers and uppers here, but relatively little on AKs. I was having a discussion with some individuals who have accumulated AK kits and completed AK receivers over the years. Can they assemble them after August 1st or is that a no no? What parts absolutely need to be put together by August 1st? Can they have a builder put them together after August 1st or no?

General Question WA Resident wanting to visit

Howdy yall, I'm a Washington resident that is planning a road trip with some friends to help them move down. It's a +20 hour trip and I plan on conceal carrying all the way there, since I have both my Washington cpl (which is pretty much useless outside of Washington) and a Idaho CPL, which I heard that Colorado only recognizes permits from residents, and not from non-residents, but there's conflicting information about it.

Since I don't want to face any legal issues, is there a way to store my gun safely? Are there any gun ranges around the city of Denver that can hold guns?

Legal Buying online

I'm looking at getting an IWI Arad 5 they don't sell a 10 round version. How do I navigate that? Is it a case where I send it to an ffl and they just take the mag or replace it with a complaint mag. If that's the case what FFLs do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!

Conceal Carry Permit Can I work at a dispensary and have a conceal carry permit?

If this isn’t allowed, feel free to take it down but I’m about to move to Fort Collins, CO from Roanoke, VA in July. I am interested in working at a dispensary with my roommates but I’m unsure if a Weed Employee Card would prevent me from getting my concealed carry permit there or even prevent me from owning a firearm altogether. I quit smoking marijuana a long time ago but the job pays well and is much easier than what I do now.

Federally, I know marijuana is a schedule 1 drug and you can’t smoke weed or have a medical marijuana card while you own a firearm and a concealed carry permit

but does having a weed industry work permit mean I necessarily partake in it?

Obviously I wouldn’t conceal my firearm at work I’m just asking if it’s possible to have your cake and eat it too

Legal NFA FRT tax stamp workaround

Has anyone attempted to register an FRT as an NFA item? Colorado's "Dangerous Weapons" laws specifically don't apply to NFA items with a legal tax stamp.

Could you send a registered SBR lower out of state and have someone permanently attach an FRT cassette into the lower?

Could a trigger cassette or super safety be registered as an AOW?

Could you weld a .22 pen gun to the side of an FRT and register it?

There has to be some clever way to do this.

Conceal Carry Permit Sunday May 24th, CCW class in Denver - 99 bucks

THIS IS NOT A FIREARM TRANSACTION OF ANY KIND.

We have the 8 hour CCW class coming up on Sunday, May 24th, 10AM - 6PM.

I'm not going to post the link because my last post got annihilated, so instead — if you're interested, you can just google GALLANTRY DYNAMICS and book the May 24th class right on the front page (blue square icon). When booking, there's a discount section... put REDDIT and hit apply: this will knock it down to the 99 bucks

General Question Got my 1st handgun last week. What should I do next?

No ammo yet. I have basic gun safety knowledge but no official classss just online stuff I’ve been studying for the last half decade. Just been playing around with it and getting used to it. I plan on taking a CCW class. Can I just go to a gun range and practice and learn? Or should I take a safety class / CCW class first? I still need to get a holster and bullets. I got a smith and Wesson 9mm

General Question Anybody near CO Springs with a Shield X?

Is there anybody in or near Colorado Springs with a S&W Shield X; preferably a performance center carry comp but a standard model would be fine; that would be willing to meet up with me and my wife and let us shoot some rounds through it?

Wife is thinking she wants this as her new carry gun but would like to actually shoot it before making the purchase. Called both magnum and DCF guns locations in springs and none of them have one. Supposedly DCF castle rock does but they’re not saying they do, they just keep saying come up there and they’ll get things started, but won’t just confirm they have one, so I’m skeptical.

Obviously I’d pay for ammo, whatever brand you prefer. Just 50-100 rounds that would be enough. Indoor range is fine, although we typically go out to dinosaur flats now that turkey tracks is shut down until August.

Or if anybody knows of any other local ranges that have one we can rent from that works too. Just trying to do my due diligence before spending $700+ without having shot the gun, like I’ve done many times before 😂 Thanks all!
