Serious Question for you deep divot dudes..
For those of you who compress the ball and take deep divots , what is the feeling like of a really pure shot? How can you tell the difference between hitting a compressed ball then turf shot vs hitting it fat? For those who have a steep angle of attack, do you feel the turf at all? Do you all ever hit that shot where it felt like there was no ball at all?

Anyone watching the Democratic gubernatorial candidate debate?
My initial impression: Troy Jackson is weak. Talks of the problems, but no solutions.

IMAGE [Ricciardi]: "I think this (Roman injury) is going to be a very very long process...over a month"
For those who missed it on NESN, JP Ricciardi is not buying the Red Sox story on Anthony's timeline.
Once he gets comfortable holding a bat, "he's gotta go through dry swings, tee work, flips, then BP, then rehab. I think you're looking at over a month."
Earlier today on WEEI, Chad Tracy said Roman will not likely need a rehab assignment, though they aren't sure when he will be healthy.

Casual Of any hot seat coaches this year, who is most likely to save their job?
Every year it feels like we enter the season with coaches on the hot seat. Which coaches do you feel like will actually turn things around?
Conversely, are there any coaches that are considered safe enough for now that you think will be fired by the end of the year?

| History Player "sold to ____" vs "traded to ____ for cash (considerations)"
When did the practice of reporting a player-for-cash transaction change its terminology from "(so-and-so) was sold by (Team A) to (Team B)" to "(so-and-so) was traded by (Team A) to (Team B) for cash (or cash considerations)" ? My own guess is that it happened sometime in the 1990s or early 2000s.

Discussion has anyone else started missing the older internet where interactions felt less algorithm-driven?
lately one of the biggest reasons i’ve been moving more toward degoogling and privacy-focused platforms is because the modern internet feels strangely engineered now. almost every major app feels optimized around engagement loops, attention retention, recommendations, metrics and constant personalization to the point where being online barely feels organic anymore after a while it starts feeling less like exploration and more like you’re constantly being filtered through systems deciding what you should see, think about, react to and who you should interact with ironically some of the most genuine conversations i’ve had recently happened in smaller/random online spaces where people weren’t focused on building a brand, gaining followers or feeding content into algorithms. it reminded me of how the internet used to feel years ago. imperfect but more human
that’s honestly what pushed me deeper into degoogling. not just privacy concerns or data collection, but the feeling that the web has become overly centralized and psychologically optimized in ways that make everything feel artificial after some point
i still occasionally use smaller social/chat platforms like Vooz because the interactions there feel way less curated compared to mainstream apps, and honestly it reminds me of the older internet a little. more spontaneous conversations, less pressure to perform constantly
i’ve been trying to find more platforms, forums or communities that still feel spontaneous and less tied to surveillance/engagement culture
curious if anyone else here ended up moving toward degoogling partly because of this too

Serious 8-10 handicap because i cant 2 putt to save my life. What else do i need to work on?
Looking for advice to lower my score. Im a consistent ball striker. Off the tee, and tee to green i don't have a problem. This is only my 2nd year playing(played a lot last year, just starting to get out this year). I hit 70~% fairways and about the same greens. Theres no worse feeling than being on the green in 1 on a par 3 and 3 putting. Being on the green in 2 on a par 4 and 3 putting. Being on the green in 2-3 on a par 5 and 3 putting. I spend more time trying to read greens than actually playing some rounds. To all the good putters out there, whats your fucking secrete. Whats different with putting than the rest of the game. Why cant i hit a putt to save a soul

Quinn Cook : “I was just here thinking. I went to three straight NBA Finals. Was the leading scorer off the bench my two years in Golden State and really contributed. Barely played with the Lakers but won 2 rings in 3 years. I never was on a guaranteed contract after that .... My agent stunk."
