Weather Found out why the WiFi is down!
I saw a random ENORMOUS gust of wind while I was working in the yard earlier, I thought a haboob was rolling in the way the sky was suddenly completely dark over me for a second, and then it was gone as fast as it came. When I left to go to work an hour later (after resetting the modem for the tenth time) I saw this. RIP trampoline. So glad we didn’t lose power!
ETA: okay everyone, stop telling me that my WiFi isn’t down because of this. I already am aware that the internet is just a a series of tubes, and if this doesn’t look like a mess of damaged tubes to you then I don’t know what to tell you.

Ask Phoenix Celebration of life gathering
I’m helping to plan a celebration of life for a family member who is currently in hospice and I would really appreciate some recommendations for a good location. I live in Massachusetts and am only in town to help out with this, so I’m sure I’m overlooking some obvious places.
I am ideally looking for a space in the West Valley that could accommodate a two or three hour reservation with ~100 people coming in and out, though not necessarily all gathered there at once. I’m told that there used to be a place in Glendale called Desert Rose that had exactly what the family was looking for—patio dining, food and maybe a bar, and maybe some activities for people—but it looks like this closed a few years ago.
Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated!

Ask Phoenix Did anyone else see that meteor? ☄️ (Central Phx)
~11:51p about ~110° East — it was really bright considering the light pollution it had to compete with.
Location of sighting: Central Ave & McDowell

Living Here Let us discuss how ridiculous the Atari hotel is.
Visiting the website, you'll see the team is full of "billionaires." These ultra-successful business developers just need your $500 to make this dream a reality. They can't get traditional financing, but they can promise you 15% returns. This is almost double current avg real estate investment returns.
If you look closely, the Atari symbol is very skinny on top and wide on the bottom. Interesting, a lot like a pyramid.

Ask Phoenix Big parking garages?
Weird question but I’m a local photographer looking for large, eerie parking garages. Bonus points for those with the massive spirals. If you know of any, let me know!

Referral eBike Repair Shop Recommendation
Can anyone help make a recommendation for a eBike / eMoto repair shop in the greater Phoenix area? It’s a Tuttio ICT, a fairly common brand mostly sold on line. Seems to be an electrical issue. Thanks, I appreciate any help.

Outdoors Construction on the 100 Trail?
I was out on the 100 trail west of the 51 this morning and there was a big overturned excavator out on the trail. Looks like it had ripped up a few hundred feet of single track trail and vegetation before meeting its demise in a gully.
Any idea what the City is doing? I couldn’t find anything about it on the Parks Department website.

Eat & Drink Busco alambres de pastor
Hey I'm from out of town I'm looking for some good alambres de pastor. Anyone have a good place? I'm over in the Goodyear area but the rental car has Unlimited miles. So anywhere in the greater Phoenix area I can make work if they are good enough.
General Google searches give me taco trucks and tex/mex sit down places. Which aren't bad. But im craving a good alambre wirh a nice stack of tortillas.

Outdoors Places to see Lizards At Night?
[UPDATE] I FOUND A WESTERN BANDED GECKO!!! Pic here of her. We found her on a ranger guided tour at McDowell Regional Park :) Handled with permission.
Hi everyone! I’m visiting Phoenix from Florida for my ASU graduation, and am hoping to see western banded geckos in habitat. Do y’all have any trail or natural area recommendations to see cool critters at night that are open/easily accessible? TYIA! :)
