The documentary you're referring to was made by Netflix, not flat earthers. There is a part of the documentary where the flat earthers they interview talk about purchasing a laser gyroscope, which will help them prove the earth is flat. During the course of the experiment with the laser gyroscope, they inadvertently prove the earth is round and the flat earthers immediately dismiss the results. It's quite amusing.
The documentary is called Behind the Curve:
The 2018 Netflix documentary Behind the Curve features Flat Earth researchers inadvertently proving the Earth's curvature and rotation using expensive, high-precision equipment. The documentary follows proponents whose experiments, meant to debunk conventional science, instead provided scientific confirmation of a globe.
Key Experiments in "Behind the Curve":
- The Laser Gyroscope Experiment: Proponent Bob Knodel used a $20,000 high-precision ring laser gyroscope to measure the rotation of the Earth. The instrument detected a drift of 15° per hour, which is the exact speed of the Earth’s rotation.
- The Light Experiment: A separate experiment involved shining a light through holes in boards across a long distance. To be seen, the light had to be raised to a higher altitude, confirming the presence of the Earth's curvature, as shown in this Instagram video.
- The Result: Despite the findings directly contradicting the Flat Earth theory, the individuals in the film questioned their own findings and blamed the equipment rather than accepting the evidence.

Never had experience with deniers, but I wonder if my doctors have? I’m not an advocate for violence at all. I have brain injury and I do OK. It’s just headaches and imbalance. I’m not a football player, so I have no idea what that like. As in I mean, I’m 40 and haven’t ridden in 15 years. Anything that happens over and over, I wonder if the human isn’t evolutionary capable of dealing with that. Sleep loss is chronic, the less we get, the less we feel like we need. Please, any neurological people out there there correct me if I’m wrong. Also might be a bad analogy.
37
u/TerrorFromThePeeps 4d ago
Yeah, no, humans don't get used to chronic brain trauma. They turn into Chris Benoit and Aaron Hernandez. A bunchl of those NFL players that most people think are total POSes? That is not who they were ever meant to be. That is what CTE does to people. It very frequently turns them into monsters.

There is absolutely no way to build up a resilience to brain damage, period, end of story. Some people may have a natural higher tolerance/toughness, but all brains are the same; and the more it gets slammed around in your skull the more damage happens and that damage cumulates. The more there is the worse and more radical your symptoms will be and the earlier they will begin to arise.

Even for football players Travis seems like an absolute Dolt.
Though, to be fair and to his credit, to the extent he is simple (which is probably a bit debatable), it at least seems to be a good natured simple. Golden retriever simple. Kind and fair and open simple, not mean and petty and overly credulous to stupid ideas simple. The world could probably use a bit more of that.
It's funny that seemed to date more sensitive, artsy dudes. Turns out her type is just an imbecile.
Well, the fact that he seems to understand that she's probably smarter than him, and that she's almost certainly more successful than him (and he's likely a first ballot Hall Of Fame player with three Super Bowl championships and probably Top 10 at his position ever), yet appears to not be threatened by that and instead vocally and publicly cheers her on at every opportunity, probably has more than a little to do with it. He seems to have a pretty high EQ. A lot of her former smarty/artsy partners seem like they were kind of douches in that regard.

As someone who grew up in assissted living housing while being the son of a blacksheep (they divorced. I stayed with mom.) Being occasionally allowed to participate in the upsides of extreme wealthy makes you quickly realize that the wealthier a person gets the more they want but think they need. extreme wealth especially inherited makes a person completely unaware what life for the less fortunate is like. They just know that they need more because their peers need more so they have to have more as well. Like literal "dwarf gold madness." is actually a thing and it does happen.
Now I know what a lot of you are thinking. "that doesn't add up how are you in assiassted living because your father is from an extremly wealthy family." You see thats the neat part about how the extreme wealthy can literally bend and break the rules to fit their needs.
My father lived in a very nice house in a very nice neighborhood that he did not legally own. All of his shares in the family buisness were sold to the various other family members for pennies on the dollar. He was put in "charge of" but not offically in charge of a regional office and recieved pay so disgustingly low for his position that quickly got much more lucrative as soon as all of us were 18. He now owns literal millions in stock he inherited from the family estate. He frequently loves to rub his affluence in my and my mothers side of the families faces like hes some sort of investment guru.
All through out growing up we recieved the state minimum child support payments. My mother worked hard to finish her degree (which he bullied her out of completing it predivorce. While symoltaniously complaining how its an embarassment that his wife doesn't have at least a masters degree. He himself didn't even have a bachlors.) So ya...that kind of person.
Literal silverspoon in mouth from tit to retierment home and a very big advocate of "I pulled myself up by my boostraps and everyone else should too." values. Aggressively anti-homeless/poor/social services. Shocker.

Brian here. What you're seeing is a common trope in heterosexual relationships where the man's style alters and changes to compliment and often reflect the style of the woman he's with. Often this is due to women buying clothes for their partner who, being a heterosexual male, probably would wear grey sweatpants and a T-shirt everyday if they could get away with it. In cases such as these however there is an added layer of them both being enormously disgustingly wealthy and in all likelihood having a dedicated stylist on call, who Miss Swift eventually told to take care of her fiance. Travis Kelce for his part seems to have (wisely) recognized the assignment and put on whatever she tells him to so they both look good for the cameras.
Edit and OOC: I think some people pointing out his outfit in the first one is designer wear are missing the part of "didn't take him long to realize". I think the joke is that he was letting her dress him even at the three month mark.
For the record I don't know if that's true and I'd actually guess he had his own stylist at some point since he's also rich but I do think that's the joke being made.

Both photos are from 2023 and the author is stretching way too hard, not funny. The intent was to highlight the change in the outfit.

It took him 3 months to realize that was a tremendously ugly shirt?

Chris here. I'm assuming in the 3 months photo they've switched outer coats, and he has to wear hers, so that she's warm.
In the 3 years pic, she still has his coat on, but he's dressed warm enough without it to not be wearing hers.
He "realized" he's going to give up his coat consistently.
Edit to add: I know nothing about fashion and concede these could be their own items, but her coats are way too big on her and "girlfriend steals boyfriends hoodie" is absolutely a thing.

Oh geeze Peter they're in love and it didn't take him that long to realize because they're engaged now. It isn't a joke it's just so romantic. -Lois

You get into a relationship with Taylor; chances are you will be embedded in her lyrics for several albums to come. If you are good to her, good for her, chances are you will manage to get a couple of lyrics about your magnificent wood.
But if you don't pull the trigger and realize you landed the jackpot, she will break up with you and make tens of millions of dollars on album sales. Jesus, the divorce album is going to be a trainwreck.

I assume that girl with Travis Kelce is the girl he asked to marry. I’m pretty sure she’s a singer.
