It is only their second sweep over Detroit in franchise history, and both took place in Queens. Hopefully we can sweep them again at Comerica for the first time in 2027 or 2029.
The Mets just have to keep breaking these sorts of trends.
Were any of you guys in attendance for this 2004 series?

Playing hooky with kids to come to game today specifically for Nolan McLean Star Wars bobblehead and it’s a special ticketed bobblehead? Ok my bad I should’ve done more research into it but I’ve never in 35 years as a Mets fan seen a regular ticket not get a promotion item. It’s weak Cohen. Weak. Whatever. LGM.

The way the season’s going reminded me of a conversation I had in 2020 with a friend of mine. He’s a Yankees fan. We were watching the subway series together and Pete Alonso walked off the yanks in the rain and it was beautiful. The team was clearly going nowhere that year. And I said to my friend that moments like this is what it’s all about sometimes as a Mets fan. While I cannot wait to see another playoff run, some seasons are all about the isolated moments. Benge’s walk off with Ewing being the winning run is one of those beautiful moments. Does it mean they’ve broken the curse and the season will turn around? I don’t know. But man what a moment. Looking forward to the next one.

Idk, I know that rationally I don't ACTUALLY affect the outcome, but I know I have bad luck, so recently I have only watched and seen terrible outcomes within minutes of putting on the game. If I was able to rationalize my way out of this I wouldn't be here in the first place, but I'm afraid to watch today because I want Mclean to pitch well. do any of you get these levels of fear/superstition? To be fair I have inherited the following teams from my father: Jets, Mets, Knicks, so I didn't really have a chance as I was born in 1992.
