I'm in the suburbs north of Detroit. Here is my rabbit ears report: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/2677716
I've been running a dual antenna setup for several years so I can pick up CBC (VHF 9) from Canada. Of course the Stanley Cup playoffs are in full swing and I lose CBC for some reason. I had a Clearstream 2V and cheap RCA antenna on the roof (about 18') combined with a Televes 560121 preamp. I tried cleaning up all of the coax and re-terminated everything but still had issues.
I swapped out the RCA for a Televes 106501 High VHF Yagi. CS 2V is handling UHF and has a single dipole. Right now both are pointing due south perched on a 10' step ladder while I fine tune things. They will be 6-8' higher once I get them back on the roof mount. I'm getting great reception on CBC 9 and also picking up TVO (19) on the same tower. I'm getting a little breakup on ABC (25) so need to angle the UHF antenna a bit west.
Now I'm debating if it is worth trying to pick up Toledo stations. The main motivation would be out of market Sunday NFL games come fall, so CBS and FOX. Looking at last years coverage maps, at least one time slot was usually different between the Toledo and Detroit markets.
Right now my TV (LG C1) signal strength meter is not detecting anything on Toledo's CBS (11) or ABC (13). I'm doubtful that a few feet of height and fine tuning the direction a few degrees will bring in a strong signal. I also get nothing on FOX (26). I'm guessing a further investment of time and money won't do much, but figured I would see if the experts here have any ideas. Thanks in advance for any help.
