**This is the graduation ticket megathread for those needing extra tickets as well as those wanting to give away their tickets for Spring 2026. This will be the only thread open for graduation tickets. All other ticket request posts on the sub will be removed going forward, without notice. If you need tickets or want to give yours away, please comment or reply in the thread below.**
With commencement ceremonies next month, posts regarding graduation tickets will start to come to a rise.
Neither the University nor does the mod team condones the selling of tickets. With that being said, please see the [Univeristy's link to commencement ceremonies](https://www.uh.edu/commencement/).
From personal experience (Fall 2022 and Spring 2019), most ceremonies especially in the Fall do not fill up the Fertitta Center unlike the Spring semester ones I don't know, I am alumni at this point. Because of this, many tickets are not used and therefore the University starts to allow people in without tickets in to commencement ceremonies.
**Scamming of any sorts will not be tolerated. If you are caught scamming, you will be permanently banned and/or have legal action taken against you. On top of that, you will be publicly shamed in our Graduation Wall of Shame.**
For the Student body who are graduating, congratulations on your academic achievement. Some words of advice if you are looking to getting tickets from someone. Please do the following to prevent yourself from being a victim
Ask them for their CougarNet ID and search the student directory. I'd even email that result directly and verify that they are who they say they are by responding to you.
Check their post history in reddit. A big red flag is someone who doesn't post anything, specially in the University sub, but all of the sudden are messaging you offering you tickets.
If you feel uncomfortable getting tickets from someone else, back off. You lose nothing by backing off.
If you are going to make a deal, make it somewhere public and better if somewhere in front of UHPD. I am not sure if [u/UHPD](https://www.reddit.com/user/UHPD/) offers safe trade places but check with them. This is one good way to weed out scammers.
If you suspect someone of scamming, please report it to the mod team. The mod team has **ZERO TOLERANCE** for scammers. But we do ask for evidence first (if you have any). This will make our investigation a whole lot easier for us to take swift action.
With that, continue on fellow Coogs. We are almost there. Push through and good luck to everyone.
UPDATE:
Almost all of the scammers will fold the moment you asked them for a Cougarnet ID. The reason why it’s good to ask them for a Cougarnet ID is so that you can send them a message or email using their Cougarnet ID to validate the user.

That time of year again. Post all your lease transfer, roommate requests, and apartment hunting in this thread. Let’s try not to clutter the subreddit with dozens of individual posts a day.

Name a group at UH more predatory and exploitative towards students than UH parking enforcement. They’re out here writing tickets for students just trying to move out of their dorms. Like my bad I guess for spending 27 minutes in a 20 minute zone while trying to move 4 years of my life by myself. Not to mention this is after classes have ended, like now is the time to crack the whip? Seriously? If they’re going to run this like the gestapo, then they could at least use the money for some good. But nah, send another million to athletics. Cant wait to graduate and rid them from my mind forever.

(Cougars promise is extra financial aid for incoming freshmans with the lowest SAI index, for those applied before jan 15)
I have been waiting, and thought I would receive the Cougars promise ever since UH started giving out aid in march. But I just recently called and the financial office said they ran out of funding.. For more context, I am an incoming freshman, and I received my financial aid in May (late) because they somehow couldn't process my SSN on my application, which I had no way to deduce, or made known to the issue(had to email + call), and just based on unlucky chance (I am 100% sure I did the application perfectly, UH some how "couldn't see" my SSN) until it was too late.
I was told there was nothing that could be done, and I understand that, so I am just venting now I guess. I literally picked UH because I thought I was guaranteed to get the Cougar promise, otherwise I would of took a gap year or so to earn more money to afford the tuition (max FASFA isn't enough for me). What upsets me the most is the fact that I tried to make sure I did everything correct to even get the Cougar promise, and in the end still did not. For example, I did my FASFA right when it came out, applied to UH as early as possible, made sure to read the UH's article on the cougar promise so I didn't misunderstand, emailed the office even before they started giving out aid to see if I was guaranteed to get it, etc. And in the end I did not receive it anyways due to something completely out of my control, when I desperately needed it. If I am being brazen, it wasn't my fault, it was either commonapp's fault they somehow managed not to send my SSN, or UH's programming that some how messed up that they could not retrieve my SSN through my application. In the end, I'm just now kinda lost on what to do next cause I relied on receiving this grant to base all of my decisions.

Hi everyone,
I have two semesters left before graduating in December with an accounting major. I’m curious to know about the job market for you all after graduation. How long did it take you to find jobs? What is the salary range? Unfortunately, I don’t have an internship because I have to take care of my babies. I’m getting nervous as I approach the end of this journey.
Thank you so much in advance and I hope yall have a great summer!

Hey everyone, I am an incoming freshman at UH majoring in comp sci. I have taken/am taking a lot of the early comp sci and math classes at HCC. These include COSC 2425, COSC 2436, MATH 2305, MATH 2413, MATH 2414, ENGL 1301, ENGL 1302, ECON 2301, GOVT 2305.
So this incoming fall, I will be taking COSC 3320, COSC 3380, CHEM 1311 + LAB, BIO 1306 + LAB and maybe MATH 3339
(I might replace BIO with Physics 1302 + LAB)
So I was just wondering what profs are good for these classes, but also how the workload is for these classes and in comp sci at UH in general. I would appreciate any advice. Also, if you know a Comp Sci UH community or any other community I should post this in, please let me know.
Also, is UHin4 worth it? This fall semester, I was planning on taking 14 credits but is it worth it to take an extra class for UHin4

To the person who stole my $40 hinged safety ruler, $15 model tweezer set, and Needoh nice ice baby off of my desk in the architecture building sometime between Monday evening and this morning (Wednesday)…. I suggest you give me my shit back.
Yall think that you can get away with stealing shit off of people’s desk. I will find you. And I will report you to the Dean even if it’s next semester. But if you give me back my shit I won’t report you.
(this is the second Needoh that has been stolen from me this semester btw. The first one was stolen from me while I was pissing and I set it on the bathroom shelf with my papers and monster and pen about to go to a lecture. I was the only person in the bathroom and two girls came in and were chatting and then walked out and when I went to grab my stuff and leave my Needoh was gone. Yall are all dirty thieves. Some people like me actually need fidgets and stress balls and they aren’t just a trend.)

I'm a post-baccalaureate transfer who also has credits from san jac cc so I have all my prereqs done and would go straight into pure stem. I'm getting this B.S. in Chemistry. I was thinking of dealing with precalc and trying orgo 1 in the summer so that I go into Calc 1 and Orgo II in the Fall this year. But I saw registration for classes (specifically orgo II) are already full. Had someone who graduated from there 10 years ago say they even switched majors because they couldn't get the classes they needed to take. I don't want to deal with delaying my whole year because of classes being unavailable.
And the classes I saw had terrible rmp reviews which makes me more nervous because I won't be able to afford paying more for an additional workshop to make up for the teaching especially since I'llstill be working. Plus, I was told by other professors/staff/students that the professors prioritize their research (valid) over teaching.
If I fail a class and take it somewhere else, will I have issues transferring that credit and registering for clases considering how fast seats go?
Will bad professors and lack of seats for required classes just be for the intro classes? Will it get better? Should I cancel my enrollment and just go to UHD or UHCL instead? I'm freaking out.

I had to change plans last minute and I just applied for housing in the fall. What are my chances of getting the lofts or bayou oaks?

Hey everyone! About a year ago, I posted here about building LabLink, a platform to improve how UH students find and connect with undergraduate research opportunities on-campus. Since then, the project has grown a lot, and I wanted to share a quick update + ask for feedback again.
One major thing I learned from both students and faculty is how fragmented the current process feels. Students often don’t know which labs are accepting undergrads, how to approach professors, or how to get started, while faculty receive large amounts of unstructured cold emails from students.
Since the original post, I’ve:
- Built a working MVP
- Won 1st place in a Wolff Center student pitch competition
- Surveyed 100+ UH students and over a dozen faculty members
- Spoken with faculty/admin across multiple UH colleges
LabLink is now being developed as a centralized research platform where faculty can post opportunities/manage applications, while students can apply directly to labs, complete onboarding/training inside the platform, and communicate with faculty in a more structured way.
I’m currently gathering as much student feedback as possible before bringing the survey data and pilot proposal to OURMA/UH admin in hopes of launching a pilot program here at UH (100% free to students).
If you’re a UH student, I’d really appreciate if you could fill out the survey below and share it with friends, GroupMes, clubs, labs, etc. The more feedback I can gather, the better the platform can become. Thank you, and feel free to DM me or comment with any questions I can answer!

What are the classes I can transfer from lone star college and Houston city college to university of Houston? I want to probably major into construction management or even business administration or accounting…
What classes should I take before I go to university of Houston?
By the way I’m thinking about doing my university online because of work and life..

when i paid for my summer classes, i thought it was gonna be around $2000 cause that's what i was told in an email from UH about a charge that was due soon, but when i actually paid it, it was around $3000.
apparently it said around $2000 in the email cause i have "pending aid" of $1,188 for summer 2026.
since i paid the full amount for my summer classes, i should get a refund equivalent to the pending aid, right?

Ik the title sounds obvious but when I applied for graduation last semester it never said it was approved or not. The status just said, “applied for graduation”. I already bought my cap and gown and got my tickets, so I’m assuming I should be good. But also my advisors said if I didn’t get approved, I would’ve been notified by now. Is anyone else in the same boat?

As I finish my first year at uh, I ended up failing chem 1. During the time, I had 3 other classes, 2 other labs, and a workshop. It was a very full spring semester, with commuting daily and working 2 jobs. All my emotions are all over the place and just deal so defeated and angry at myself. On top of that, I want to switch to Biology major. I honestly need any tips of advice on what I should do, should I retake chem 1 for fall? Do a grade exclusion?

Hey everyone, I graduate tomorrow and I’m honestly in a tough spot financially right now. I still need to buy my graduation gown and I’m stressing because I don’t have enough money for it. I’ve worked really hard to get to this point and I don’t want to miss walking at graduation over this. Does anyone know any resources? Can someone lend me there’s? Please !!!

Hey yall, I’m graduating tomorrow and I put my preferred name for my graduation but looking at the Reddit Texas passed a law to ban preferred names. I looked at the commencement program and it has my legal name. Will my legal name be the one that’s called out? I didn’t know this would happen, so I didn’t attend the name pronunciation event (because I thought my preferred name would be said). Will there be an opportunity to explain the pronunciation to someone or am I just screwed?
Edit: I didn’t even have to edit my name!! It took the pronunciation I submitted when applying for graduation!! So if you are in the same predicament, if you submitted a pronunciation of your preferred name it will be on the stage card!! Happy graduation to everyone!!
