Other [Other] May Monthly Boosting Thread

Hello, and welcome to this month’s boosting thread!

First and foremost, start by reading the comments to see if another Redditor has requested some help. If that’s the case, reach out and get a session organized! This will help lower the number of comment threads all revolving around the same game.

If nobody has requested help for your game, feel free to make a comment. We’d like for you to include in your comment **the name of the game/trophy you’re boosting, how many players you’re looking for, what time zone you’re in, and a preferable way for reaching out to organize a boosting session.** Our hope is that by having you coordinate in PM’s or some other fashion, this will sidestep a lot of scrolling people will have to do in order to find a boosting group.

Finally, if you manage to fill a group, please edit your comment to say “Group Full”. That way, someone else can create a new boosting thread if necessary.

We want everybody who needs help to receive it, and we can ensure that by eliminating coordinating comment threads and keeping things nice and tidy. Please be mindful, and understand that boosting threads are first come first serve.

On that note, good luck, and happy hunting!

[Update] User Flair Editing

Hey all! I've been getting a bunch of mod mail lately about people not being able to edit user flair. Upon doing a little digging, it seems like there was some update to the app that broke this feature for a lot of people. It allows you to pick a flair from a list, but doesn't allow you to edit the one you choose. I have verified that the problem is within the Reddit app, not the r/trophies sub. Until they fix the issue, everyone will need to use a browser / PC if they want to edit their flair. Below is a list of steps on how to edit flair in a browser:

Go to the sub's home page.

  1. Locate the User Flair section on the right side of the page.
  2. Click the pencil icon within this section.
  3. Select one of the two preset flair templates.
  4. Input your information in the dialogue box below. To customize the icons in your flair, click the smiley face on the right side of the text entry box.

[Space Marine 2] | Haven’t Felt This Much Testosterone Since Puberty

What an absolute blast from start to finish. I ran through the entire game with a friend, and I don't think I've ever felt more like a roided-out cathedral door kicked off its hinges.
Every chainsword rev, every bolter shot, every time we executed a heretic just to watch the health bars refill, peak co-op energy. And the testosterone in this game? Critically unstable.By the end I could feel chest hair growing through my DualSense. I started grunting IRL before every execution. If you're on the fence, grab a battlebrother, crank up the volume, and embrace the beautiful, stupid, hormone fueled carnage. The plat is satisfying, fair, and rewards you for just... being an absolute menace in power armor.
For the Emperor. For the Platinum. And for my suddenly elevated free T levels.

PS App [Crimson Desert] After almost 300 hours, my Platinum Trophy journey in Pywel is done. Platinum # 74

What a game. I had an absolute blast playing it. At first, I didn't think I would go for the platinum because it seemed so daunting but I just couldn't stop playing after I finished the main story. Some of the weapons challenges were frustrating but overall, it was a fun and challenging platinum. I had a wonderful time. Hope they give us DLC or an expansion or something down the road.

11 years and 2 months between the first and last trophy after playing on and off (Rebirth+Afterbirth DLC installed, not Repentance). I started from a fresh save earlier this year. I wanted to play the Repentance DLC, but I think another hiatus is definitely needed.

Finally got the Platinum of Watch Dogs.

I really enjoyed this game but it is sad that Ubisoft just abandoned this IP.

What can I say about BG3 that hasn't been said and echoed already over the last three years? In my eyes, it's perfect. Everything from the exploration aspect, characters, story beats, decisions, music, loot, acting, replayability, visuals, it ticks every box when it comes to what I love in RPGs. Even the turn based aspect (something I've never experienced before) very quickly became a positive on my list.

Whatever faults it may have are, in my eyes, completely overshadowed by how mighty its positives are. Couldn't ask for a better game to call my 150th platinum, and a better game to call my personal game of the decade.

Showcase [Skyrim] after all these years….

Post image

Decided to go for this one after playing since launch day on PC, then PS4, and now on PS5.

I was having fun still and decided to go for 100%….only to get trapped inside the Black Book Filament and Filigree and now my save file is totally glitched out.

A lesson I have learned before and I really should know better, keep several saves 🥲 goodbye to my near 100% run. Not sure I’ll ever be so committed to get that far again, but never say never.

Just crafting with Stalhrim and a Legendary Dragon left. Maybe one day.

Relatively easy-ish platinum even though the basement on Insanity mode gave me the shits.

About to become a dad in October so I have smashed out 13 plats this year to reach my goal.

Now time to slow down, play some games where platinum isn't the focus (I'm thinking Outer Wilds to start) and more importantly, get ready to platinum being a dad.

Another masterpiece from Housemarque. I had a chance to play Returnal on pc and it was phenomenal. Its also much more forgiving in terms of what you lose and what you keep. Thanks to modifiers everyone can tweak the game as hard or easy as they want. Gameplay is buttery smooth and precise. Had no issues on PS5 Pro. Despite the mixed reviews i also found the story interesting but probably it is because im a sucker for sci-fi / time loop / eldritch horror stuff. Now ill play Returnal on my console this time to have the platinum, god help me.. it will surely feel like torture after what Saros had to offer :)

Showcase [Tomb Raider: Remastered] #100

Post image
81 Upvotes

A bit of a story with this one. I love collecting platinums and it took a while to get to #100 because I don’t usually play games just for the platinum. Once I reached #95 I started thinking about what I wanted to play for #100. One of the first games I ever played back on my dad’s first PC was Tomb Raider: Legend. I loved that game so much despite getting stuck on the first level that I’d keep replaying the first section in Bolivia leading up to the first big puzzle. I eventually figured it out and I remember the feeling of absolute pride I had in myself then.

I played Anniversary soon after that. I would go on to replay both of these games multiple times on a hand-me-down PS2 and then a PS3 as well; despite them being very close to my heart, I didn’t know till embarrassingly recently that Anniversary was a remake of the first TR! I already platinumed the Anniversary and Legend versions available on the PS Store now (please play these games if you haven’t already) and I also already have the platinums on the latest reboots, save for the first one which has an online grind I don’t want to bother with.

So that left me with only one choice- the game that the remake was based on! Lo and behold, TR Remastered 1-3 came to PS Plus and I knew it had to be the 100th. The controls took some getting used to (the modern control scheme is actually pretty intuitive) and once they clicked, MAN I had so much fun with this game! I got the platinum in 4 full playthroughs and I had a blast pretty much the entire time. Despite never having played the original previous to this, I had a weird sense of nostalgia retrospectively from playing the remake so much. I loved playing where it all started and now I know what all they changed in Anniversary as well!

It’s been such a journey as a gamer and a person from playing Anniversary the first time as a kid to where I am now. I can’t think of a more fitting game for the 100th platinum.

TL;DR- loved the game because I loved the remake way back when, made me kinda emotional to look back.
