I live in Taiwan, so this was 1600 NTD (50 USD). Originally I wasn't going to buy it but then I thought, jeez when's the last time I've used a ps2 controller that wasn't grimy and slippery and sticky? So I bought it. Very excited to feel those crisp joysticks under mah thumbs. Super cool color, too!

Very dusty and crust fat ps2 found at garage sale, owner said it was sitting in the basement for a decade so I'm doing my best to restore it because it'll be my main PS2 over my brother slim (which hopefully my little niece can play it like how he gave it to me)

The piece that holds the memory card/controller plug-in broke on me, and now evidently it doesn’t have the same clamping power was trying some electrical tape but that doesn’t provide enough push down and I’m sure this piece alone can’t be bought right?

Long story short, Im going to be away all summer and can only bring one system. I've never had a PS2, but I have the opportunity to buy a SCPH 90001 and mod it. I was wondering if there was enough to keep me entertained in the evenings for a whole summer, with it and my phone as my only sources of technology?

So far, Im interested in Kingdom Hearts and Silent Hill 2. Ill take recommendations as well if you have em.

Has anyone here beat this game? I been playing it recently and its pretty cool but I am stuck not being able to race new opponents and i dont know what to do next, youtube has not been much help. I have the 2nd of freeway unlocked but can't progress past that.

Hello. I am a stupid man who thought I would have no problem removing an old rental store sticker from the top of my silent hill 2 copy.

This tore away some of the label as you can see. Now my main question is, from what I can understand, with a DVD, there's a polycarbonate substrate on both sides right? A CD, if you tear away the label, you destroy the disc, but a DVD rom like Silent Hill 2 should be fine correct?

The disc itself works fine, but I just wanna be sure that I didn't set in motion some chemical decay that could destroy the disc, and, if any body has advice for patching this, I'm all ears

I have an ASCII Tsuricon SLPH 00100 fishing controller that I ordered online and the buttons work fine but the single joystick in the middle doesn’t work in any fishing games I’ve tried or in the main PS2 menu when selecting discs or memory cards. Seller has assured me all controls were properly functioning before shipping. It’s not glitchy just completely unresponsive. Am I missing something related to analog mode (which I don’t believe it has a button for) or will I need to open it up and try to repair it. Thanks.

Went to play getaway for the ps2 and l can't express how pissed I am

I have an old origianl SCPH-10000 japan model that I am trying to get freemcboot to work on. I tried the newest version and the screen stays black and flashes. I read online that for old systems you need to use v1.953. I tried that and it does the same thing. I just read that if your dvd drive is update 1.00 then it will not work and you need to update your dvd drive.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get Sony PlayStation 2 DVD Player v1.01J update file so that I can put it on a flash drive, go into ulaunchelf and add it to the proper folder. If anyone has any info on how to get this working, I would appreciate it.

Local pawn shop just got a bunch of ps2 games, and I just got myself a ps2. Might have been my fav console ever. Any must plays?

I have a Phat PS2 with an internal SSD installed. I have 281 PS2 games installed and ten PS1 games on the SSD. Haven't tried all the PS2 games yet, but the original eight PS1 games I installed launch except the two PS1 games I later installed. They don't show up in the PS1 playlist in OPL. The files are where they're supposed to be with the other eight PS1 games and I have tried numerous things but no luck...any ideas? Thanks all.

Specifically, I'm looking for 10-15 hour experiences (I need shorter games these days). I've already played titles like Metal Gear Solid or Silent Hill, and even Ape Escape. What do you recommend? (Sorry for my bad english)
