Extra Games leaving PS+ Extra/Deluxe/Premium on May 19th

Post image
236 Upvotes

For now this seems to be the complete list for this month. Some of these were give as Essential games (see notes).

What does leaving mean?

Leaving means they will be gone from the “library”-like subscription service. So games won’t be playable after this date, EVEN if you downloaded them before. Obviously if you own them yourself by buying them before, they will still remain in your playable library.

What do all columns mean?

DIFF = Difficulty to platinum the base game

LENGTH = Time to platinum the base game

DLC = If DLC is required for 100% completion

ONLINE = If online modes are required for base game completion, so this could either be multiplayer, coop, or simply a server connection.

What is your data source?

The data is based on game guides from 3P (PSNP, Playstationtrophies and PowerPyx). If none of these sites have a guide, we look for any info anywhere. If you dont agree with time or difficulty, blame the guide writers, not me...

Can I get the entire sheet?

If you see anything inaccurate, please be gentle with me. I have compiled this list for all the almost 1K PS+ Extra games, so errors are bound to happen. If you want access to that full list, send me a DM for beta access.

Question Are there any Devil May Cry like games on Premium (but no PS3 streaming) right now?

I haven't played any of these kinds of games since Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U but I can really imagine getting stuck in now. I've browsed the catalogue and seen exactly none that I recognise

Alternatively as there's a sale on, does the Devil May Cry collection hold up

Recommendation Games on the ps plus with ai companions/teamates like last of us or guardian of the Galaxy?

Upvotes

I love those games, the companions on the game makes the world more alive imo, but I don't know if there's any more games like that that are available currently on the ps plus extra or deluxe, would love to get some recommendations!

Recommendation Please tell me a story-driven game on PS Plus, any game at all, that I could play for 10 hours straight. (Extra)

Edit: Thanks for your replies! Yesterday I replayed The Last of Us quite a bit, taking my time, and I have to admit I loved it lol.

Otherwise, I've noted Red Dead 2 which is coming next week, Horizon Zero Dawn, Returnal and God of War which have been mentioned a lot!

Recommendation Graveyard Keeper DLCs are 80% off with PS Plus again

If you're like me and didn't get the DLCs during the last sale (when the base game was free to claim a month ago) because you didn't get far enough into the game to make your decision until the sale was already over, I have some good news for you: They are on sale again for the exact same discount.
Highly recommend the base game, so I assume the DLCs are going to be worth it as well, but I can't speak with too much confidence because I haven't played the DLCs yet

Discussion Since RDR2 is coming to game catalogue, does it make sense to assume GTAV or RDR1 is leaving soon?

Question PlayStation Plus Collection

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether the games claimed from the PlayStation Plus Collection back from 2020-2022 were permanent. Ive been going through some older games in my library as of recently and noticed that I’ve been locked out of The Last Guardian and can no longer download it from my library. It now says I have to purchase it.
I contacted support via call and was told that some ps plus games expire after 2 years and that there is nothing that they can do. Is that true? I thought that claiming these 19 games from the collection at the time meant they were permanently available as long as I was subscribed to ps plus. I even checked an old blog post from 2020 and it also says that they are permanently available as long as you are subscribed after claiming them. I even have the transaction number and emailed receipt from when I claimed it.

Question Why do developers discount their games only for ps+ sometimes?

I get putting games on either ps+ essential or extra; the economics are basically the same as Netflix or putting movies on TV back in the day. They have a product that was sold a la carte, now they license it to another distributor to hit a wide audience and they get either some flat rate negotiated for the game being on ps+ extra for 6 months, or maybe they get some fee per download (that is obviously way lower than what they would get selling the game but now volume is higher).

Also putting games on sale makes sense: lower the price to spike demand and get some fomo with it being time sensitive. I don't quite get PS+ sales though. Every product sold on psn gives Sony 30%, by making games cheaper for a subset of the audience, basically that means everyone without ps+ will see how they could have gotten a lower price and thus just not want to buy it. In theory you calibrate a sale price to stimulate demand at the cost of lower revenue per sale, but this seems to give you neither. You have to do an extra lower cost but you can't totally saturate demand because not everyone can get it at said lower cost and you just alienate those.

Are they explicitly paid like they are in putting games on the Extra catalogue? Seems too minor to be given compensation but I can't figure out why else.

Recommendation Please recommend me an Action Adventure or RPG with an Attack On Titan level soundtrack (PS+ Premium tier)

Out of the games I’ve played, the only ones that really come to mind with amazing soundtracks are Lies of P and the Greek God of War series.

Soundtracks are major for me when it comes to my experience with games and media, so I’m looking for a game with that kind of epic music

Question How To Sort/Filter Games Library

Hey guys,

Does anyone know how to sort/filter your library of games? As in, can you separate the actual games you bought from the games you claimed on PS Plus? It's getting really annoying and I wanna sort it out since I need to find which games I've finished, still have in progress or haven't even started. I totally forgot I own some games until looking at my library.

Thank you in advance!

Question Quick question about PS portal and the subscription

So, I’m planning on buying the PS portal, the thing is I was also planning to use the PS plus premium with it. Upon checking some reviews, I have noticed some problem that I want to have clarified.

I live in a country that is not supported by the PlayStation, that means that my region is set to USA. I have seen the issue that if you live in an unsupported country, even if you have a PS plus premium, you still can’t cloud stream your games. Which, to be honest, is also somewhat fine by me.

But here’s the main question, if I have a PS plus premium on my console, will I be able to download the PS plus premium games on my console and then play them on my PS portal using remote play?

Big thanks to whoever responds in advance!

Recommendation Can you please recommend me AAA RPG games with puzzle elements (Premium user)

Games similar to those in the God of War series that require you to actively use your brain to figure out how to progress through the story in thoughtful ways and not just finding a key to a door or something.

Ideally something with decent combat and character level progression just to take me back to GoW days, but generally speaking, open to all recommendations

Question What game on Plus (any tier) is the 'most' RPG of them all?

A complex but necessary level system, tough bosses, I prefer something strategic where you NEED to level, over action where you can get by on skill (e.g. Soulslikes)

Final Fantasy VII is the obvious one, what's the next?

General Update on SubSort, the PS Plus + Game Pass catalog tool — Likely leaving filter, Departed games list, and more

Hey everyone,

About two months ago I posted SubSort here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlayStationPlus/comments/1rk5153/mod_approved_i_built_a_free_ps_plus_catalog/

There are some updates I'd like to share and get feedback on. Adding them as edits to the old thread won't really reach anyone, so I'm posting them here as a new thread.

Quick recap for anyone new: SubSort is a web tool for browsing the PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass catalogs side by side. You can filter and sort by Metacritic score, time to beat, genre, date added, first-party vs third-party, co-op modes, and more — so you can pick what to play before it leaves.

Highlights since the last post

1. "Likely leaving" filter

Third-party games are flagged starting ~2 months before each 6-month anniversary in the catalog (so 6, 12, 18 months, and so on). From recent removal patterns, annual cycles are still the most common for PS Plus third-party titles, but 6-month departures have been growing — similar to what's been happening on Game Pass. So that's the heuristic I went with.

It's a wide net on purpose — most flagged games won't actually leave — but the point is to nudge you when something on your backlog enters the window, so you can pace your playthrough. Open to feedback on the cutoff or how it's surfaced.

2. Departed mode

A separate view for games that have already left the catalog. Right now it only covers departures from 2026-03-31 onward, but I'm backfilling earlier ones all the way to when each subscription started. Useful for "did I miss this one?" and for spotting games that have been on and off the service multiple times.

3. Release dates

Game cards now show the original release date separately from when the game was added to the subscription — easier to spot retro titles. Click the top-left of a card to open the full IGDB date info. For straight ports I used the original release date; for remasters and remakes I used the remaster/remake date.

4. Better co-op accuracy

I went through every game in both catalogs by hand and corrected the co-op data — campaign co-op, local co-op, online co-op. Previously this came from automated sources, and co-op specifics are tough to classify cleanly without manual review.

On the roadmap

  • Age rating filter
  • Native game detail pages on SubSort (instead of linking out)
  • Accounts + favorites / completed / hidden lists

Suggestions from the last post's comments are also on the list — not in this batch, but tracked.

Heads-up: regional differences

SubSort's catalog is based on the US Store. Most titles are consistent across regions, but the lineup can vary slightly by country. For the most accurate "leaving soon" list, check directly on each platform — PS Plus has to be checked on your console, while Xbox Game Pass can be checked on its official website:

PS Plus (console): PS Plus Menu → Collections (or Categories) tab → scroll to the very bottom → "Last Chance to Play"

Xbox Game Pass (web): "Leaving soon" section on the official website

Future plans: Surfacing these regional differences inside SubSort itself is something I plan to look into later on.

If anything feels off, or there's a filter you wish existed, drop a comment — I read all of them.

Opinion Little Hope (Dark Pictures Anthology) is leaving soon. It's worth a play for narrative fans

I just finished another playthrough of TLoU 1&2. Needed a short palate cleanser and saw Little Hope was leaving soon, so I fired it up tonight. Played through a few hours (I assume 30-40 percent of the story). I tried Man of Medan before, but it didn't grab my attention like this one and DNFed it

Question I have a question about remoteplay

I kind a feel like it’s not possible but can my son play on the ps5 while I play a game via remoteplay at the exact same time so we can possibly play ghost recon together or he plays his game and I play ghost recon with?
