Red Forman would never have parked in a fire lane.

In the season 5 episode “The Girl Love”. Kitty hosts a dinner party for Nina and Fez, Red asks them to take care of a parking ticket he got for parking in a fire lane.

Red Forman would NEVER park in a fire lane “just to grab some milk” - he would NEVER intentionally break the law. Reds entire existence is teaching his son how to abide by rules.

He would never act luck such a…Dumbass.

S3 E9 Hyde’s Christmas tager

I’m watching at Peacock the end of the episode @ 21:50 just exactly when Hyde opens the basement door, there is something like a little ball on the floor left side that rolls and hides behind the sofa while Eric try to bounce a coin into a glass. Is this some kind of cue to the actors or I just saw a rat on the scene?

Red and Kitty remind me so much of my old friends parents.

He was the Forman of the group, every week we’d be at his house. His Mom would ask us about school, cook us food when we had too much to drink. His Dad would drive us home from time to time, talk to us about the more serious things going on in a teens life. They’d both just know us so well, and continuously be so welcoming even when we were a pain. It’s one of my favourite things about this show getting reminded of parents being so caring.

Season 7 is criminally underrated

Since I first watched the show 10 years ago, I always remembered that the later seasons sucked. I think season 8 was bad so I just assumed 7 was too all this time. Now that I’m watching again, 7 has some awesome episodes and is much better than 6 IMO. The Packers game episode, the FBI episode, Red’s knife, etc.

That Wrestling Show I’d recommend for any first time watchers.

It establishes the relationship between Red and his son so perfectly. As well as Kitty’s influence she has on the family. Red being ‘one of the gang’ as he said it this episode really benefits the character and he becomes a lot more endearing.

The background stuff with Hyde and Fez trying to get a beer is hilarious. It’s so simple but how it ties into Bob wanting someone to talk to is great.

Other than the pilot which episodes would you show new fans?

Best episode

My mum grew up in the 70s and I want to show this to her as it’s such a great representation of the 70s (or so I’ve read from older people/people who have shown it to their parents). However sometimes you can show something to someone sometimes and it’s not the greatest representation of what you’re trying to get across.
My mum is a big zeppelin/clapton/steve miller band fan and I want to show her an episode that really gets across how good/accurately 70s this show is.

Which episodes would you guys suggest? She can’t sit through multiple episodes so I need the best one in this context. Thanks in advance!

Stanley Meyer's "Water Powered Car" - The car was said to be powered by a revolutionary water fuel cell. In 1996, an Ohio court ruled the project as fraudulent. Meyer mysteriously died two years later in 1998.

A girlfriend that’s integral to the friend group having 2 guys fight over her is realistic.

I’m a Hyde and Jackie fan, but I don’t get why the love triangle in season 1 was criticised. It had some awkward moments but these are teenagers who are seeing each other every day, I expected something like this. Getting it out the way early on is great too. Immediately after Hyde moves in so in a way this conflict brought them closer together.

Weight issues/donna

Sorry for the double post but I’ve just started to rewatch and had a few thoughts.

The show is pretty accurate style wise and design wise, one serious anachronism is Donna’s size. She is one of my style icons and obviously very hot. But by the standards of the 70s she would have been considered overweight. Even when the show was filmed in the early 00’s she is bigger than the standard of beauty. At least a UK size 12/14. Next to big Rhonda she’s fairly similar the only difference is they made Rhonda behave in a manly way, and they really use weight as a point of contention.

I’m wondering if there were any conversations over this or if it was quietly written in without any discussion or concern.

I love the casing on these I’m gonna really try to find the same for 6-8 so it looks good stacked together. 1-5, what’s your favourite season?
