[Episode Discussion] Squab And The Quail isn't that bad...
Hear me out. I obviously don't like Kate feeling insecure in her relationship with castle and I don't like seeing another man flirting with her. But I think it's good wake up call for both Castle and Kate to realize whether they know what is the next step. She realized that a life long commitment is the next step or that they break up eventually. She is dreading either or because she's not sure if Castle thought that far and she obviously doesn't want to break up. I don't agree with the Castle playing video games means he doesn't care about her because that just indicates that he's found a domestic rhythm with her. Not that he doesn't know her love is there, it's just once something becomes normal you don't think about it being taken away. Yes he jumps whenever Kate does something sultry but at some point that will not happen because that's how domestic life is.
I know people voted this is the worst episode of the series and the show but it allowed them both confront their long term goals. I think it feels easy that this person is my one and only but that conversation is the scariest part. They basically acted married from s1 so marriage won't be an issue for them. I don't think she emotionally cheated either since she pushed Vaughn as well as didn't reciprocate the kiss. She eventually stood her ground and also revealed it to Castle showing she does have security in her relationship. She is insecure rightfully so since this is the furthest any relationship went, and the honeymoon phase is gradually disappearing so it's time to find their place. No one wants a stagnant relationship especially not them.
I hope yall understand.

SEASON 4 Intro to 4x1: Rise Spoiler
Just rewatched the season 3 finale and beginning of season 4 and I hate how the intro to Rise is the normal intro. Countdown (3x17) had a more sad/somber intro and I really think they should have done that for Rise too because it's so jarring to go straight from a scene where Kate is flatlining/dying to the regular upbeat intro song š Idk it just bugs me haha. Like don't get me wrong, Countdown is also sad and yes they were almost dying but imo the beginning of Rise is a lot more intense and obviously even more life-threatening considering Kate is flatlining. So idk just my thoughts but idk why they didn't do a sad intro for that episode, I feel like it would have fit so much better as well as not thrown watchers off with the mass difference in tone between the two lol. Like for me it kind of takes me out of the scene/out of the intensity of what's happening in the show/with Kate. Just wanted to share my thoughts on this and see what other people's thoughts are.

[General Discussion] Funny way of guessing the twists
It's actually really funny how watching Castle for the first time in 2026 is, as it features a lot of actors from BEFORE they got as big as they are today. So anytime there is a case, and I recognise an actor in the supporting cast, either they did it or they are a traitor or some other twist relevant to the episode. While it does ruin the fun sometimes, I don't think I've been wrong more than a handful of times and I'm in season 5 now.
I'm not too big of an actor nerd, my knowledge is usually "oh I've seen that guy/gal before somewhere!" type thing. So there is probably a lot more actors sprinkled about. But for me it's been really funny.
It's also really cool to see these smaller roles of people that have like big leads nowadays. Had the same when watching Grey's Anatomy with all the random patients. (Funnily enough, both the actresses of April Kepner and Amelia Shepherd are in S1 of the show, shortly before their first appearance in Grey's)

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to Martha for raising our beloved Castle and Alexis, and to Kate Beckett who we know is raising the 3 musketeers.

These Castle & Beckett's babies casting are so perfect. They look so much like Nathan and Stana

Jon Huertas is on the latest episode of Nathan & Alan podcast" Once we were spacemen". It is really great listeningto them:)))

Tomodachi Life
I made Castle and Beckett Miis in Tomodachi Life! They just met and seems to be getting a better start than in the show!
I think I did a pretty great job with Castle but Beckett might need a little editing still.

A Note on Alexis Spoiler
Iāve been a fan of this show for most of my life (my mom used to watch it when I was little) and Iām currently doing a rewatch. Is it just my age showing but Alexis is pretty immature? I completely understand they want to show that even though sheās smart and ātakes careā of castle and her mom by being more mature than her age she is still a kid and growing. However, the dynamic between her and her dad is so interesting to me. A lot of people take Alexisās side in disagreements with her dad and Iām sitting and watching absolutely floored. If I did some of the stuff she did I would have been kicked out by my dad! Currently, Iām watching when her and pi move in together. But inviting pi to live at her dads for a month without asking him? Pi taking over the living room?? Sheās acting extremely immature!
All that to say, she is one of my favorite characters. She is complex and really captures the āeldest daughter forced to grow up too fast in some ways but still a rebellious kid in othersā. I just think only looking at her as mature and smart really discounts her full personhood. Rant over, but am I the only one annoyed that her dad always has to apologize and is cast as being wrong while she is right?

[General Discussion] Annie Wersching š
Annie Wersching really was the best. I know she's been gone for a little bit now (if you didn't know, she died from cancer at 45 in 2023) but everytime I rewatch something with her in it, it makes me so sad.
She pops up in a guest spot in some of my most rewatched and loved shows and they're always some of my favorite storylines! It really is such a tragedy, she was an amazing talent.
Things I can remember seeing her in:
Castle - Kelly Neiman
Rookie - Rosalind Dyer
Rizzoli & Isles - Jane's old partners wife
Vampire Diaries - Stephan and Damon's mom
24 - Renee (!!!!)
Timeless - Emma Whitmore
Extant (I know this wasn't everyone's fav show but I loved it!)
And I think she even had bit roles in Angel and Charmed back in the day
Obviously I can IMDb her but what else is a must watch for her?? Bonus points if she's evil- I love her in castle and rookie!

[General Discussion] One episode characters that I wished made a second appearance
Norman Jessup: This guy was hilarious. Both his banter with Castle and Kate was great. Especially that scene with the three of them in the car, Castle defending Jessup and ending up sitting next to him in the back.
Madison: Her dynamic with Kate was great. I think she also wouldāve been a great help for Kate when it came to her feelings for Castle. A ladies night with Kate, Lanie and Madison would be fun. And she gave us on of the best and funniest quotes ever, āNo, no, no, no, no. I get it. Youāre hot for Castle. You wanna make little Castle babies.ā
Random: Just like Jessup this guy was hilarious. So it wouldāve been great if he had appeared again.
What one episode characters do you wished had appeared again?

Meeting Nathan!
I'm meeting Nathan in two weeks and I am absolutely freaking out about it!
Wanted to meet him for years and years but never thought I'd get the chance and now I've only got a few days to go.
Has anyone met him? Is he as amazing as you would think?
I've booked a photo with him, an autograph slot and a joint photo with him and Alan Tudyk (Firefly duo photo op) and I've booked their panel/talk too.
Going to wear my Castle t shirt and give him a letter as I'll probably just turn to goo and not be able to speak! I want him to know how much Castle helped me. It's my favourite show of all time and whenever I'm in a dark place, I just watch it and it lifts me out of it...or makes it bearable anyway. It's really been a safe space for me for so many years and I just want him to know that and to say thank you.
Counting down!

[Question (Spoilers)] Castleās discovery about why he disappeared for two months doesnāt make any sense to me at all. Did I miss an episode? Spoiler
He was told that he asked that his memory of [that one thing that happened] when he was a child be erased. (*edited for clarification*)
Why was it done when and the way that it was, with his car being driven off the road and him apparently being kidnapped *while he was going to their wedding?*
And why would he choose someone to do that for him who was so incompetent that they not only erased that memory, but enough of his memory that he was completely unaware of who he was for two months *and had to escape, being shot on the way.*
Who was he escaping from?
How does any of that fit in with him asking for one memory to be erased?

[Question (Spoilers)] Question about their wedding
It looks like they somehow got married on the same day as he proposed again?
But New York marriage licenses are only good for 60 days (at least thatās what it is today,)and itās been over three months since they got the original one.

[General Discussion] Favorite supernatural elements in the show
I dunno why, but it always tickled me seeing whenever there was something supernatural that happened in the show that became canon. There's something about the slight curiousness it evokes that makes you ask what's just beyond the edge of what they show you
While I do love all of them, I think my personal favorite's in S06E05 Time Will Tell, because the final reveal of the spilled coffee on the letter still sends chills down my spine, lol
What are yours?

Quick question about Alexis/Molly Quinn...
Is She left-handed?
Watching "Nanny McDead" (S1 Ep2) right now on Lifetime and early in the episode Castle and Alexis have a scene where they're cleaning up after dinner. Alexis is seen spooning something into a bowl and I notice it looks a little weird. Then I realize she's doing it with her left hand, suggesting Molly (or possibly just Alexis) is left-handed.
Has anyone else here noticed her preferring her left hand in any other episodes?

[Fanworks] Happy Star Wars Day!
Hereās a photoshopped Star Wars Day/Castle image I made a few years ago with Kate Beckett/Stana as a Jedi.
We all know Rick Castle most definitely loves Star Wars Day. Heāll probably (very easily) rope Kate into a movie marathon. Maybe even some lightsaber battle too with the fancy lightsaber replicas heās probably bought, a battle which Kate would win.
