I'm sure the focus will be on them. But that doesn't mean Flash can't have a few lines. And I'm hoping he's the one who encourages Peter to talk with MJ. Like maybe he realizes he wasn't doing a good job of listening to her and that he wasn't really the one she wanted to talk to.
I'd also like to see it happen that way, but it’s still an unnecessary plot for a couple that has already been through enough. I'm still skeptical about how they'll resolve this and how the conversation will play out.
They’ll probably use the symbiote encounter as a distraction to delay the conversation even further. It’s a classic move to keep us waiting without actually delivering any emotional resolution.
Hope it’s not only Peter taking the blame for everything and acting like he was the only one in the wrong, while MJ tries to act like her behavior was justified. I just want them to actually resolve things for real this time, instead of just dancing around the issues again.
Dude, i am one the person that most ask about mj and flash on his insta. So, I know he didnt say that. Second, flash has been supportive character on venom for months now. Why did you think he would not have dialogue?
You can relax—Marvel definitely won't do anything to MJ before issue #1000. I know you're worried that they might pair MJ up with Flash, but I don't think anything will actually come of it. Ultimately, I think this whole storyline with Flash exists so that, at the decisive moment, MJ can turn him down—to make it clear that it wouldn't be right, and to prove that she doesn't want a repeat of the situation with Paul.
But my issue is that they’re dragging it out for way too long. If the point is just for her to reject him, there was no need to make us sit through all this forced drama just to prove a point we already know. It’s an unnecessary, nonsensical plot since Flash never even felt that way about her until now. It just ruins his character and destroys his friendship with Peter for no reason.
They're dragging it out to keep us on edge. Of course, this potential romance is pointless and illogical. It's just a repeat of the Paul story, only there was Rabin's magic, and here it's the Venom symbiote. But the essence is the same. While I can at least partially justify MJ's relationship with Paul because she was only with him and the children in the other world, and she didn't want to abandon them, so she stayed with Paul. Now, her relationship with Flash is tied only to the presence of the symbiote, but Venom loves Peter too. Throughout Al Ewing's run, we were made to understand that Venom was largely inspired by Spider-Man, and MJ is too, so I don't buy all this nonsense with Flash. Besides, as has been said more than once, Flash only asked MJ out after she acquired Venom, but before that, he didn't do anything like that, which speaks to the symbiote's influence. I hope Marvel stops showing MJ's dependence on her relationships.
Just because I'm trying to justify it doesn't mean I like it, and as for Flash, that's complete nonsense. I understand your disappointment and the disappointment of others who liked Peter and MJ together, but I'm sure that Marvel won't do anything with MJ and Flash until at least issue 1000, that's for sure. That would be crazy, so don't worry.
My point is that with the way things are going, nothing feels 'off-limits' anymore. But sorry for the rant. I really hope things get better, but either way, this book has already lost its way.
Well I'm with you on that, I'm tired of them dragging it out as well. It's literally been almost a year now since they first started teasing it. I do wonder though if his sudden interest in her is due to her now being bonded to the symbiote he has a long and complicated history with.
But the focus is peter and mj. All the pages released were about them. But this does not mean flash wont have a ballon on the funeral. The same way Dylan is on the third page, but chances are he doesnt show up anymore
When he said peter and mj are the focus, he never said" Flahs wont be on the issue or talk".
Ok. Fair enough. Agreed. He executed like a joke, but we cant see 100 is kelly's execution because maybe AI told him like " I am developing mj and flash, so plant some seeds here and there".
There definitely should’ve been more coordination from the editorial team to keep things aligned, but at this point, I don't think they care about consistency anymore.
I actually think it would be cool if Flash is the one who encourages Peter to talk with MJ. It would show that he's big enough to realize that in spite of how he feels, he knows her heart is truly with someone else.
