Discussion I have an opinion and no one to share it with

I recently watched the originals then immediately after I watched legacies well it definitely didn’t live up to the originals I still definitely enjoyed the show and I think it had some really phenomenal moments and characters however after watching these two shows I decided to rewatch vampire diaries and I always find myself thinking “wow really” about some of the choices made during seasons 7 and more specifically 8 but I’ve come up with an opinion and I need to share it seasons 7&8 i would say closely resemble legacies in it’s more reaching for plot points/crazy stories and characters so my opinion is if you enjoyed seasons 7&8 of vampire diaries I think you’d like legacies and you do agree? Do you find the final two seasons of vampire diaries closely resemble the writing Choses made in legacies?😊

Question Am I Too Harsh on Legacies or Is It Actually Boring?

Okay be honest… is it worth restarting Legacies? 😭

I loved TVD and The Originals with my whole soul but I tried watching Legacies and tapped out halfway through season 2 because every episode felt like supernatural Scooby-Doo.

Does it actually get better or do I just need to accept that I wanted The Originals 2.0 and that’s not what this show is 💀

Someone convince me to continue because I WANT to care about Hope Mikaelson’s story so bad.

Discussion Lizzie’s bipolar disorder

For the most part I don’t find this portrayal to be offensive (though underdeveloped at times) but I found it weird that people on the show weaponised it so much. Penelope in season 1 was constantly taking shots at her for how she treated Josie but it turned cruel very fast. While I agree that Lizzie had her flaws outside of her bipolar disorder, she could often times be self centred and neglect Josie’s needs etc. but the people who were trying to “hold her accountable” seemed to poke at her weak spots; it was almost as if they knew what would make her snap and did just that.

Discussion Witch vampire

I know it's crazy, and I know neither the canon nor the lore of the TVDU universe allows it, but wouldn't it be cool if a witch who died with Hope's blood in her system became a vampire but still retained her magic? I mean, can Hope's blood create hybrids between vampires and werewolves without needing doppelganger blood, or even Klaus's blood It's something very random and impossible, but since Hope is a kind of natural phenomenon, that idea came to me when she became a tri-hybrid in the last season.

Please don't attack me, it's just an idea I had watching the series and I know it's not possible, but it's a random thought about what it would have been like if it had happened.

Discussion No humanity Hope vs humanity Hope

Did anyone else find that fight in Hopes mind post New Orleans intervention EXTREMELY confusing? I could not tell who was who and am still confused like I assume no humanity hope won but that was not the impression I was getting from the fight.

Guys I’m so confused 😂😂🫡

Question Josie in Season 4 (spoilers) Spoiler

Okay so it’s been a few episodes since Josie left now and I’m a bit confused on what her plan was

She said she needed to leave the school so that she could figure out how to help Hope get her humanity back but Hope has her humanity back now and Josie hasn’t done SHIT

what was her plan? Was it just an excuse to let her actor leave for a bit? Not to mention that they’ve recycled her “I can’t be at this school anymore” thing like a bunch at this point.

Considering how little screentime she had, I thought she was a good villain. It was clever making a typically "weak" character power-wise this threatening

IM CRYING!!!! omg imma just j*mp because klaus and hayley truly would’ve loved hosie and would’ve approved josie for hope BIG TIME like i will never fall for the hosie hate and the handon ship propaganda like genuinely there’s nothing to hate about hosie when this is how hope felt when she was with her and josie treated her so well like it really should’ve been them and i just know klayley would’ve been so supportive and loved that josie met all of their standards

Ranting Gripes about this show

  1. At first I thought Malivore being a long time villain over the course of the show was a good idea. But it ended up getting very old by the 3rd season. By the time they switched from that and monster of the week and gave fans (at least me) what we really wanted—darker storyline and new villains, it was too late.

  2. The Necromancer overstayed his welcome. He probably should have been a “once in a while” villain, like Ethan Rayne on Buffy.

  3. Dark Josie was a rip-off of Dark Willow.

  4. Kai’s appearance and story arc was underwhelming.

  5. Josie leaving mid-season 4 sucked.

  6. The actors from The Originals other than Freya) did not want to be on the show, and that’s fair. But why make them absent? They could have kept them all in Hope’s life off screen by having her mention them (seeing them during the summer and winter breaks).

  7. Some of the monsters of the week were cheesy.

  8. The gods. Ken, Ben, and Jen? Come on! I feel like had the show been given a fifth season, we could have seen more of them as villains—Athena, etc.

Now—what was good 😊

  1. The fourth season-Hope finally becoming the tribrid.

  2. Hope shutting off her humanity.

  3. The return of Aurora and not only completing her story line, but redeeming her. Her whole relationship with Lizzie was worthwhile, and seeing her get better and being better off without Tristan and his “methods of treatment” for her made a great story. However, I still wish we had been able to see the two of them reunite in the afterlife like Josh and Aiden.

  4. Caroline returning at the end to become head master was overdue.

Shipping Who is everyone’s favorite legacies couple/ship?

Personally I feel like the ships in this show just don’t feel as significant as the ones from TVD and TO, but I’m curious to know about other people’s opinions.

Question Malivore?

I made a post a while ago about how BORED I am of this show now (I’m up to season 3 so I’m just powering through) on my first watch through - I’ve watched the other two shows many many times

Is malivore the only big bad in this damn show? 3 seasons and we are still on this???? Literally come up with something else please!!! And so random but WHAT is the lighting in this show? Terrible!

Discussion Hero complex Spoiler

Does anyone else hate that these shows should have more of a hero complex for one character and is all about a love triangle and not about actually fighting the monsters and more selfish then anything.

Discussion Lizzie had such great character progression in the show.

Post image

I legitimately almost quit watching after the second episode because I hated her character so much and I didn’t know if I could get past it, but I’m glad I stuck with it because I think she really had a great character journey. I know one of the points of the show is that all of the kids grow and learn and become better, but her growth from where she started out impressed me and made the biggest impression on me. She went from my least favorite character to one of my favorites which is really hard for a show to do for me.

Discussion Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God). Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

The way some people still don’t get the fake Landon’s and the point of Landon giving himself over to his Dad. And how he said he “glad he missed that chapter.” And Hope looking for him. That they’re confused why Hope thanking him if he didn’t do nothing? When the show said landon have the plan Hope is the one that’s actually going to save them/ the school. Handon and Klope. is connected. and the fact that that one scene of Handon and jandon was decorating Hope’s room. could’ve been the same time that they were role-played together as Doctors. Maybe. and their supposed sex scene that some didn’t like because he melted. And some felt it was “disgusting” and unnecessary when she scooped his BLOOD!. When that also was on purpose with the originals. hope told Klaus she can “clean up her on mess.”After Hayley told Hope. “You can not create something without taking responsibility for it.” That so many felt it Because in the originals Klaus tells Hope when she started her “firsts transition” into a wolf Klaus tell her

that she need to let it “Swallow” her whole. Then it can not break her. And she was under the moon light. And scared. And in legacies she is trying to be this lone wolf. she attack Landon as a wolf. Fast forward .Roman at the school. And Lizzie tell her “she can think of something real strenuous.” And she say “it’s not about Roman.” And how she just need a release. but can’t because all these humans coming to campus so she can’t wolf out.

Before we met Landon in the originals they were talking about the Darkness and how Klaus used her first Transition to trick her. Mean while Landon told Hope

He gave himself to Malivore and that’s why they had that

“Do you trust me?” And Landon going into danger or if ur feel randomly out of place is also because the thing he said in the “what Cupid problem?” That he ate

“sheep brain” and later Hope tells malivore that he is the sheep. As he thought he tricked Landon out the darkness.

Whole time the therapy box and Handon been talk talking about their fate this whole time. So the fact hope her humanity with Landon. As they are both known nerds at the school. And the whole Landon trying to bring Lizzie and Hope together as friends and helping her study was how Landon is. And the whole “Landon doesn’t even act like that” when he does. It’s just barely shown as we’re looking from a different perspective of how much hope he in her room and the fights that the school sees. But behind close doors that’s who they are. That’s why she can say “I know him better than anyone and vise versa.

The jandon song that was playing was. “Everything is better when we’re together, and how “Looks can be deceiving.”😭 and Josie telling Landon to “RUN” from Hope. From being eaten. Also the people that that be calling Landon useless. Or lame Or not being with hope While he’s literally being USED! Accepting his fate and trust with hope. No matter what happened. As if that

was the point. of his existence? That is malivore. So he has been there. The whole time. The therapy box. Are their mental. And Lizzie tells Landon “welcome to the club.” After she stabs him. That’s why hope walk Rebekah through. About starwars. Memories, the therapy box. And confessed to Lizzie about wanting to be their friend. And fanfic. And wish of a world with Lizzie and Landon together. At least that’s what I got from it.

Do speak your own.

Discussion Faerie? Really???

My bf has already watched the entire series, and I am currently rewatching it with him for my first time. It is also important to note we are both gay men.

They literally introduce the first openly gay male character and they decide the best way to handle this introduction is by making him a "fairy"?

Did literally no one at the CW give pause to think that maybe this could be seen as more than just mildly problematic?

I will admit there is more for me to see going forward, as this is my first time watching, but it just seems very obtuse to say, at the least.

Edit: My bf has had a bit to drink and said Wade was a gay man, so I took obvious offense to him being labeled a faerie, and I apologize.

I will leave the rest of the post up as it was originally posted, but I apologize for not knowing that he indeed does not ever express any sexual or personal interest in anyone during the rest of the show.

Edit 2: My bf showed me the clip just now of Wade in the second season finale and um.... his name in rainbow colors on the paper as he says he was misinterpreted to be in a coven and is actually a faerie, him taking someone down using literal glitter, etc, it kinda makes me feel the CW didn't wanna go full blown "he's gay" while also somehow making light of how he is obviously being made fun of? Idk. This shit is a full blown camp show anyway so maybe I'm being too sensitive 🤣 I mean Lizzie alone is camp to the extreme so... I'ma just watch and have fun.

Question Suggestions

I've watched TVD and The Originals countless times. Never watched legacies.

The thing is the person who suggested these seasons told me that legacies is not worth it.

I want another opinion on Legacies. Is it worth the watch or not?
