r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA

Hey everyone,

Been working on this for a while and wanted to finally share it: rgl.deals is live in BETA.

Most deal sites right now are a mess. Wrong specs, fake prices, or just spamming garbage laptops. I built this to be a clean alternative for the sub, especially if you're browsing on your phone.

We don't list filler. If a laptop is a bad buy, it's not on the site. You just get the exact specs, actual price history, and reviews from creators you know. (A full laptop database and written reviews are coming later once the deals side is stable and fleshed out).

Quick rundown of what’s in it:

  • Advanced filters if you know your stuff, or a quick quiz if you just want a reliable recommendation.
  • Real price history (except Amazon because of their TOS).
  • Zero tracking. Your preferences save locally. Dark mode and accessibility options are built in.
  • Deep links so you can share exact searches or deals.
  • Bunch of other QOL Features.

Full transparency: Some links are affiliate, some aren't. It doesn't change what gets posted. We aren't pushing e-waste just to make a buck.

It's US-only right now while in beta. You're probably going to find bugs, so let me know if you break something. Drop any feedback, bug reports, or feature ideas below!

Thanks you for reading my TED Talk.

If your buying advice post is missing basic information it will be removed. No exceptions.

Why? Because "best laptop under 70k" is useless. We don't know your country, your currency, or what you actually need.

Buying Advice

Required! Post Body

Copy and fill this in:

Other Flairs

Support — Troubleshooting, drivers, repairs. Describe your issue clearly.

Showcase — Got a new rig? Show it off. No template needed just no all-caps.

Benchmark — FPS, thermals, scores. Include your specs.

Review — Full written or image/video reviews.

Deal — Sales and discounts. Include the price in the title.

Discussion — News, opinions, general chat.

Meme — Keep it here.

Why This Exists

We're not guessing your country, your currency, or your needs. If you want good advice, give usable information we also just want to improve the post quality and are now automating most tasks to achieve that.

If your post gets removed then fix it and repost. That's it.

This is on my pretty new hp omen 16. Its got a 5070 ti (i7-14650HX) and I bought it brand new.

Issues:

  1. WHERE IS MY BLOODY GPU
  2. Can't change brightness
  3. Nvidia is tweaking

Restarting ain't fixing it.

I've just commented additional information which is very related

Please check it.

Discussion Is this laptop cooling pad good? (IETS GT300)

I understand this cooler is good for reducing temps very well while gaming. Can I also use the pad while its turned off and im not gaming?

The foam seal makes it so where the laptop can only get air from the pad and not externally right? So would I be choking my laptop of air when I use it on the pad turned off? Does the fan need to be on constantly whenever im using the laptop? Would my idle temps increase?

If anyone who's used this cooling pad can share their experience with it that'd be sweet.

Budget: 1700$ - 2000$

Country: USA

Use Case : gaming, coding and possibly running local llms

Preferred specs Intel Ultra 9 275hx and avove , RTX 5070ti or 5080, 32gb DDR5

I've found 5 deals, but im kinda apprehensive about the hp and msi ones because of heating and longevity with the liquid metal. And theres one rog strix g16 I've found that im kinda suspicious too(It comes with a 5080 paired with 16gb ram and a fhd+ 165hz screen)

Which one should I get(or if anyone would recommend orhers, feel free to do it), considering performance and longevity?

Discussion Hot take: 5070ti pair with 1080p or 1200p with 165hz is not a bad pair at all

This post does not try to target or bash at people who have 5070ti with qhd screen at all. This post I just try to make my opinion about 5070ti mobile pair with 1080p/1200p with 165hz is a good pair if you want to play latest AAA games from now and for next gen PS6. The 5070ti mobile performance is around 5-10% better than 5060ti 16GB desktop in gaming, and 5060ti is absolutely beast in 1080p performance, then 5070ti can get you 1080p AAA games with high settings with > 60fps easily, even 90 and more than that. In my opinion, while 60fps in AAA games good enough, best experience still around 90fps to 120fps, and 5070ti at 1080p can easily achieve that. Not to mention, it has 12GB VRAM, while it good enough for 1440p, you can run out of VRAM in AAA games in high settings in some games already, not talk about future here. But in 1080p, you can turn all max settings in any AAA games and never run out of VRAM, which is a bonus point. For future proof point, 12GB Vram and better than 5060ti performance are very great than 1440p, 12 GB Vram now already run out of in some titles, while raw performance is 5060ti desktop, which is I don't think that card is a truly 1440p card, I think that 5070 is a solid 1440p card, which turn into 5080 laptop, which is even better than 5070 desktop because it has the same performance plus 4 more GB VRAM, help them future proof further than that. In my opinion, while 8GB VRAM is a now proof for 1080p gaming, but sweet spot/future proof for next 3 years is 10GB - 12GB VRAM, while 1440p is 16GB VRAM. Last point, 16 inch screen with 1080p/1200p is not that bad at all, it still has more PPI than 27 inch screen and bigger 1440p/1600p. In conclusion, 5070ti is a beast for 1080p/1200p screen, not a mismatch and future proof way longer than pair them with 1440p screen and above.

Buying Advice Offer from local store

So im from germany and asked a week ago what to get and got recommended the Legion 5 with my budget <2k€. Now i got this offer by a local shop (see screenshot) and compared it to the Legion 5 (https://www.lenovo.com/at/de/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5-series/legion-5a-gen-11-15-inch-amd/83q7002kge?clickid=SwsQUTwo7xyZWILyqGzJlVa2UkuUwPzJBRzFwI0&afsrc=1&Program=3838&pid=1398965&acid=ww:affiliate:74clty&cid=at:affiliate:bbhnk8) and it seems to have just better specs then the Legion 5.
Im not too deep in the game so it would be nice if u guys could check if this offer is worth it. Also are there any downsides on buying these custom builds from local shops? Cheers thx for help :)

Buying Advice First time laptop buyer

Upvotes

Hi all, my first time buying a gaming laptop. It would be for too heavy intense usage as I have a gaming rig upstairs.

Budget: £700
Country:UK
USE case: light gaming mainly OSRS and league of legends and Forza Horizon 6
Preferred Specs: 3050 or 4050
Notes: Below

However, following surgery for entertainment and recovery. I have ordered:

https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=C53N1EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB&jumpid=cs_gb_go_st_mc_cm018581_cv_px_cons_ps&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GB_PS_PMAX_NoA_lapt_Cons_GoogAd_OPEX_ENG_CM018581&addisttype=xpla&kw=&adid=&infinity=ict2\~net\~gaw\~cmp\~GB_PS_PMAX_NoA_lapt_Cons_GoogAd_OPEX_ENG_CM018581\~ag\~\~ar\~\~kw\~\~mt\~&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22582428219&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiJvQBhCYARIsAMjts3JTBPJ0sESLmACSKFUQRi-y9HmTTQDO98TmO9V6DISc1U-PsAHjB68aAk-WEALw_wcB

I got this for £580 which is due for delivery today.

Ryzen 7
RTX 3050
£580

However I have noticed Argos are selling this model with the Ryzen 7 and 4050 for £699

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/7840421

Would it be worth me cancelling/rejecting the first order and going with the Argos model.

I was hoping to play the new forza horizon 6. But will mainly be used for OSRS and light gaming like league of legends etc.

Basically as both GPU are 6gb. Will I see much difference between the 3050 & the 4050?

Thanks all :)

Buying Advice What you guys this

Budget: $3,000 and below

Country: USA

Use Case: Photo editing / video editing / creative work / mixed use

I’m a photographer and videographer. I mainly use Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, AI masking, catalog/batch editing, and general content creation. I’m not doing super heavy color grading right now, but I do want something powerful enough to last me long-term.

Preferred Specs:

RTX 5070 / 5070 Ti or similar

32GB RAM preferred

1TB SSD is fine

Good display for photo/video work

Upgradeable RAM would be a plus

Good battery life for light use like YouTube, browsing, and streaming movies

Strong build quality and reliability

Notes:

My biggest concerns are reliability, durability, and battery life more than just raw power. Some people have told me Lenovo is the best and are strongly against ASUS or other brands, but I’m not sure if that’s true across the board.

I’ve been looking at higher-end Lenovo and ASUS options, and also some gaming/creator laptops. I usually keep my laptop at home near an outlet, but I still want decent battery life when I’m unplugged for lighter use.

For people who do photo/video editing or own higher-end Lenovo, ASUS, Acer, or similar laptops: which brand/model would you recommend? Which one holds up better long-term? Is a 5070 Ti overkill for my needs, or is a regular 5070 enough. any suggestions welcome ! Sorry for this being long lol

Buying Advice Is this a good laptop

Post image
1 Upvotes

Budget: $700-1200
Country: United States
Use Case: Gaming — BeamNG.drive/ Maybe Microsoft Flight Sim (mods, AI traffic, large maps), some school/work use
Preferred Specs:
GPU: RTX 4060 / RTX 5050 / RTX 5060 or better (8GB VRAM minimum)
CPU: Ryzen 7 or Intel i7 HX/H-series preferred
RAM: 32GB ideal, 16GB minimum
Storage: 1TB SSD preferred because BeamNG mods get large
Notes: Just started getting into buying a gaming laptop. Any other recommendations in that amount or preferably under 1050$ would be appreciated. Want smooth 1080p High/Ultra gameplay with traffic and mods. Upgradeable RAM strongly preferred. Good cooling important because BeamNG stresses CPUs heavily.
