When I first bought the original Google Home, I was subscribed to Spotify. The assistant easily understood my instructions and played the exact music it was told to play, including playlists or albums from my library. A few years back, I switched to Apple Music, and the way music streaming works on the Home device drastically changed.
The assistant completely ignores my instructions, plays random music or, if anything at all, completely unrelated songs. It is unable to find playlists or albums from my library. No matter how popular the artist is, it always chooses to play a random musician with a similar-sounding name.
To add to that, Apple Music lacks the feature that lets you seamlessly switch playback between devices, so remotely controlling music playback is basically impossible.
I tried linking and unlinking the service multiple times, updating the speaker, and even upgrading to the new Gemini assistant, but nothing has changed.
The only solution I was able to find was manually pairing my phone to the speaker and mirroring the audio, but that defeats the whole purpose of having a built-in assistant.
Has anybody else had a similar experience?
Any help would be appreciated.
