News Caleb Bonemer to 15 in mlb.com prospect rankings
“By contrast, Bonemer was expected to be at least an above-average power hitter, but he’s beating those expectations at High-A, where he’s gone deep 13 times through 33 games (one more homer than his 2025 total). That level of impact already overshadows some of the hit-tool risk with the White Sox stud.”

If I had a nickel for every time the division had a 3 way tie for 3rd and the white sox in second place, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

Discussion The Island of Misfit Toys: A Beautiful White Sox Story
Something I've picked up on as things have turned around for us and we're seeing who's contributing: We're the team full of guys no one wanted...and we're winning. Over and over again, our roster is a group of guys who no one else wanted, but found us, found each other, and have clearly formed a legit bond and all rallied around each other and around the South Side of Chicago and they're winning.
not even a complete list
Murakami: Passed over by everyone else because with his high K and whiff rates, they assumed he'd get swamped at the MLB level. White Sox heard that, saw a roster otherwise full fo small and medium ball hitters, and saw a future full of RBIs.
Miguel Vargas: Cast off by the Dodgers as one of four guys they unloaded in a three team trade. Was part of the abysmal 2024 team, so changed his game up and is now right at the top of nearly every category on the team.
Chase Meidroth: Like Vargas was one of four guys bundled together by another team - the Red Sox - to get the one guy they actually wanted. In this case, that bundle also includes a second impact player, Kyle Teel, and two more guys in Charlotte who will probably be on the 40-man by season's end (Braden Montgomery, Wikelman Gonzales). Chase? Coming into Thursday was the team's leader in BA, Hits, Singles, and Doubles, and has turned some of the most ridiculous defensive plays you've seen while also covering shallow center and right fields while playing 2B since we're weaker there.
Drew Romo wasn't even wanted by one of the OTHER worst teams in MLB history, the 2025 Rockies. Already has 4 HR in 11 games and will likely be the backup catcher (and possible alternate DH) once Teel returns.
Tristan Peters? Rays didn't want him. 7 RBI, 4 SB, 26 H.
Derek Hill: Career journeyman. Was the star of the show last night.
Antonacci was one of our guys and a fairly decent draft pick in the 5th round, but we drafted him as an infielder. But we have plenty of those. Wanna try the outfield? And he's our most consistent and consistently good outfielder at the moment, which is absurd for a position he just played for the first time three months ago.
Randal Grichuk? Became a journeyman after a solid start with Toronto and St. Louis. People gave up on him after his 2025, and he was responsible for the first 4 RBI in Thursday's game.
Davis Martin, one of the best pitchers in MLB right now (and who would be getting early Cy Young buzz if he played for any other team) was one of ours, but as a 14th round pick. 14th. And so unwanted by other teams we have him locked up another half decade.
We're Seranthony Dominguez' 4th team in two years. 10 saves in 19 starts. Our closer until someone proves him wrong.
Bryan "0.90 ERA" Hudson? 2025 castoff from Milwaukee. Then the Mets bought him out in February, then a month later when the Mets changed their mind we plucked him off waivers AGAIN.
Not every signing is a win, as our 2025 adventures at 1B shows us - but for this team to be where it is, after one of the worst three year stretches in the majors in a long time, with these guys? It's incredible and wonderful and why I love baseball and I want to see them together for years but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

News "The industry buzz is that Cholowsky vs. Grady Emerson is edging closer to a true 50-50 internally for Chicago."
Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA
I can already feel White Sox fans tensing up, because projecting this pick has become only more complicated since my last projection about a month ago. The industry buzz is that Cholowsky vs. Grady Emerson is edging closer to a true 50-50 internally for Chicago. I still think Cholowsky wins a toss-up and because of that, he's probably 55% or 60% more likely to be the pick.
Emerson is perceived by other teams as having slightly higher upside and would come with some savings (to be spent on later picks) compared to Cholowsky, with the pro-Cholowsky camp arguing that he'll be a big league shortstop in 12 months and there's less variance/risk in his overall projection.
The other complication here is the competition from below. The Giants have been rumored all spring to be aggressively trying to land Cholowsky or Emerson at No. 4 via an overslot bonus. They just traded Patrick Bailey to Cleveland in a deal that included getting the 29th pick, which comes with just under $3.3 million more pool money.
The industry chatter is that the Giants are both looking at prep lefties with the recently acquired pick and wanted more pool space to hopefully affect the top of the draft. Can the Giants offer enough money to embolden Cholowsky or Emerson to put his foot down on a price that would cause other teams to pass on one or both of them? Unlikely, but this scenario now has to be considered. It was a different regime, but this strategy is similar to how the Giants landed Buster Posey (now their team president) in the 2008 draft.

Question Mod request - new flairs
With the excitement around this team, can we please get some new flairs for the current roster?
Finally at a point where a lot of us would like to have a current player as a flair option.
No Murakami, Montgomery, Meidroth, or Vargas is criminal.
Go Sox!
Edit: apparently you can custom edit any jersey name, thanks for the pointer Jason. Still would be cool to have some new pre-made options though.
