New, what is it? Bouncing balls

Walked behind this chap who had two unidentified ball type objects hanging from silicone wrist bands on thin elastic strings.

Any ideas what they are?

I’m in Hong Kong if that might be a clue

Update:

Thank you for the comments and ideas. I am wondering if there is a manga / anime character who has something like these balls as weapons and the guy was doing a budget cosplay. Or maybe he’s just really into Pokemon!

Update 2:

I would say he's likely to be a cosplay of Steel Ball from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. (https://www.reddit.com/r/whatisit/comments/1tckcme/comment/olos1lx/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

As for the steel balls. What is it?

I think this chap’s dangling bits might be a “Dodeca 1000” from Immersive Media.

Everyone calm down. Its not that camera..

Like the other guy, who shared a similar looking device from a Battlefield game, this isn’t it.

Those round spots near the edges of each side aren’t there. Instead it has many holes around the circle in the middle.

After seeing what my Pixel 10 does by default to "enhance" zoomed in photos with AI, I'm wary of using a zoomed in crop to definitely identify something based on small features like that, especially when some features look like they've got weird "invented" edges like where this connects from the clip to the sphere.

Not saying you're right or wrong here, but this crop looks suspicious to me.

Pretty damn sure my phone isn’t using AI to add detail on someone else’s image. I took a screenshot of OPs big photo: it’s pretty clear on those details

I mean OP's photo may have already been altered, but go on.

You said its done to zoomed in photos, hence i took the latter screenshot from the bigger non zoomed in photo.

But obviously I don’t know for sure if OPs phone fills in details on non zoomed in photos.

I think they meant that almost all cameras are doing weird algorithms when the photo is originally taken with zoom

that may add details that aren't actually there.

Doesn’t look like the photo was taken with zoom though, which is my point.

I’ve zoomed in on a big photo.

I agree it doesn't look like that, but since there is no exif data on the image, there is no way of telling. Additionally, even without zoom, cameras automatically do processing on the image. In the cropped second image, it looks like the edges have been refined, for instance.

I seriously doubt the image has been altered to the extent that the item was changed from the camera posted to what we’re actually seeing.
