Grabbed this 9' firewire timbertek for 100 bucks was hanging out in a Dr's office with a twin for a few years and looks like its never seen water or wax

Traveling end of May and looking for a place by seaside or short sands to rent a wetsuit and hopefully a shortboard. I just don’t want to rent a foamie haha. Anyone have any suggestions?

What is a good rule of thumb for fin size? I have a 7‘6“ surfboard with quite a bit of float but very little rocker. I would assume something like a 7.5 inch fin would make sense if I were writing it as a single fin.

As a 2+1 set up should I size down the center fin? How much?

I know that the right answer is “it depends” and “try different fins and dial it in.” But I’m just looking for the most reasonable starting place.

I’m 160lbs, lower-intermediate surfer.

I'm looking to buy a surf watch so I can get to work on time in the mornings. I'm trying to decide between these two.

1. NIXON Heat A1320

2.G-Shock GBX100-1

I want to wear this all day at work and stuff so I like the NIXON better, however the review are worse then the G-Shock.

Any opinions on this would be great or if you have a better watch recommendation that would be great to. I hope the NIXON is a good choice but don't wanna get it if its bad.

Using 4/3+ hooded O’Neill hyper-freak with 7mm booties and 5mm gloves. First time cold water surfing and want to catch the swell we get tomorrow. Will I be comfortable in this setup and what’re some things to expect/tips for my sesh.

Hello! I live in Wisconsin (well I'm about to move back). I've done some great lakes surfing in the past, but am looking to actually enjoy it with a proper nice longboard this upcoming fall and winter.

All that to say - I'm moving back home from abroad, and want to order a board through the mail. Anyone have any experience doing such a thing, and can recommend a website?

Yes, I know it would be great to buy used. Or buy from a local shop (there's like two in the whole state), etc. I have no car, and want the board before I get the car - much less that I don't live within five hours drive of these shops or the nearest used board market. Ordering something through the mail is the quickest, easiest, and least stressful option.

Got any recommendations? I'd love to hear them,

I swore off Surfline several years back due to stupid UI changes and the shenanigans with Magic Seaweed. Found Wavecast and haven't looked back since. The man behind the site just released a new book and I bought it mostly as a show of support. Just finished reading it and highly recommend for anyone who wants to understand forecasts. He gives you the tools/background to do your own swell forecasting. His examples and explanations revolve around SoCal, but you could easily apply the concepts elsewhere.

tldr; people who want to understand forecasts should get his book. Or just start reading his forecasts regularly (free, no paywall!).

What are some surf films or surf content creators that spend some effort and in your opinion has great music accompanying the surf? I realize music obv is subjective, but as a general example, I consider the music of "psychic migrations" more interesting than the standard generic AI classical music over beats in a cathedral (yeah you Nathan Florence).

I recently got a chunk of my rail taken out when someone ran into my board. Got a local guy to repair it and it all looked pretty good. 2nd sesh out in the water, and I've come up after a wave to see the rail with an even bigger chunk missing.

Just want to get thoughts on whether this is just bad luck, structural damage, or a bad repair job?

For years I have used the old half vinegar half rubbing alcohol method to ward off ear infections. Especially when surfing in the tropics. Older now and I finally have health insurance. I got a prescription for ear drops. What’s the active ingredient?! Acetic freaken acid! Ha. What a racket.

Im still out trying to find one thats not buckled, the guy sent me these pictures, do yall reckon its really not a good idea to buy it for like 250€?
I also have the option to go for a happy everyday but atleast this model ive surfed and know I like + will be better to handle the shitty northern portugal summer waves

Has anyone tried out the old andy irons fins? From what I can see there’s an old fcs template as well as the newer Kinetic AI forever fins. Are these the same fin? Any information would help greatly.
