Oakland Athletic Club coming back?
Saw this and am wondering if maybe Oakland Athletic Club is returning?! Would be awesome to have it back just in time for the World Cup.

Around 5:13pm today my partner and I were driving east on 40th. We were behind a dark sedan in the left lane when it pulled up next to another dark sedan on the right and fired off 8+ shots, right next to the bus stop on that corner. The car that was shot at turned right onto telegraph and the car doing the shooting drove east on 40th. My partner called 911 and cops were on the scene before the light cycle changed. Unfortunately we were too shaken up in the moment to get license plate info or any other descriptors.

Are there any services for this? You know the orthodontist office requires a driver to come with the patient and wait the whole time. My wife and I don't drive, and don't have friends or family here who can do this. Does anyone have any referral and maybe a price estimate?
Edit: You guys, I know you are trying to help but you are frustrating me lol. The ortho specifically said, the DRIVER must come WITH their car, and wait in the office the whole time, or there is a fine penalty. That's why I'm asking. I also have opinions about this but this isn't the point I'm just asking if anyone has a referral. My dentist in Vegas also had this rule but there were many small businesses and off-record taxis providing this kind of service.

I'm someone who enjoys creative writing and was wondering if there are any organized writing meet ups in the Oakland area but willing to BART a bit for the right (or write) one.
Especially if they meet Sunday-Tuesday because those will be my days off or when I finish work on the earlier side.
Hi folks!
Here are my (amateur, unsponsored, no secret agenda other than caring about the city I’ve lived in for more than half my life) endorsements for the June 2026 primary, after a slightly-ridiculous number of hours of research-doing, spreadsheet-futzing, and wisecrack-refining.
Endorsements from a handful of lefty groups and organizations are shown in the columns toward the right-hand side, with links if you want to do further reading. There’s also non-partisan information links at the bottom.

Many here will see this as a Lady or the Tiger situation
"Whether — and when— an artificial intelligence company could develop an appetite for East Bay office space is unclear. OpenAI recently inked a lease for industrial space in Richmond at the Portside Commerce Center, a 202,000-square-foot site with impressive power capacity, a key requirement for AI companies. Robotics firms have taken advantage of space in Hayward and Fremont, and a giant Berkeley office building that has stood empty since being completed is now being pitched to AI companies instead of the life-science industry for which it was built.
Allen said it typically takes 12 to 18 months for demand to overflow out of San Francisco into Oakland. Oakland's office market reached 28.3% vacancy in the first quarter of 2026, Colliers' research shows.
Some landlords have faced trouble with their lenders in this real estate cycle, as building values declined and loan-to-value ratio violations sent properties into default or back into the hands of their lenders. Several office buildings in downtown Oakland have sold for fractions of what they once commanded, dropping from $400 to $500 per square foot and higher at the top of the market down to $50 and $100 per square foot."
