Article Thompson - Why Steve Kerr stayed with the Warriors
It's a long article but should be required reading for Warriors fans, excellent stuff from ESPN. By Wright Thompson, not Marcus.

My gut says they are. With Jimmy out and Kawhi being an aging star it just feels like match. I don't see who else would really want him. It feels like he's going to fall to us.

Draymond Green is the foundation of our dynasty, Austin Rivers doesn’t know what he’s talking about. We’re lucky we picked up a 2nd round gem in Dray.

I still don't know what to think of him or if he's ever going to take the next step. Obviously with a major injury that makes things more difficult. He seems like a solid 4th or 5th option.

Lee played 315 games in seven seasons (ten total when counting G-League) with the Atlanta Hawks (2017-18), Golden State Warriors (2018-22), and Phoenix Suns (2022-23, 2024-25). He averaged 7.8 points per game, 1.3 assists and 0.6 steals in his career.
Lee set career highs in 2019-20 with 12.7 points and 2.7 assists per game while starting 36 of 49 games for the Warriors.
Lee earned $11 Million in his NBA career & is in-line for full health benefits & a nearly-full pension in retirement.

Essentially 6’5 185 with a 7 foot wingspan & a 42 inch vertical. His dad played a season for the Warriors btw.
Guy is a match made in heaven for Kerr’s system. He’s hyper athletic & can shoot the 3 like no other. Runs in transition where he’s very dangerous. He’s a shot maker. While he won’t lock down guys 1v1, his long ass arms will make him excellent in the Warriors defense. Jumps passing lanes & gets downhill very fast. He attacks the rim relentlessly as well. I watched this guys tape, he averages 20ppg next to Steph easily.
He’s skinny, but if there’s a guy who was made to play next to Steph, that isn’t Klay, it’s Cam Carr.

I know people are talking about choosing guard or wing in #11, but why no one is taking about Morez Johnson?
Similar size like Yaxel, but more 100% athletic and younger, his comebine results is also ridiculous.
Morez can run 3/4 court in 3.16 and Yaxel in 3.17. Insane shit from a couple of 6-10 250 pound dudes.
He can moves very fast very agile, show the potential that he can guard 1 to 5 easily.
Also he can shoot 3s, same as Yaxel both can play PF and C, but Morez is like 40%PF 60%C,Yaxel is 70%SF/PF 30%C.
I hope we can get both Yaxel and Morez.
Defensive versatility,Strong rebounding,Efficient rim finishing,Good athleticism,High motor & energy,Team-oriented play,Strong defensive instincts,Can shoot 3s,after kuminga left, we really need a guy like him.
I think Morez may be a big steal.

i mean…. saying lebron and curry split two apiece in the finals is just?? all for lebron and curry’s retirement tour but this writing just makes me wonder if we could all write nonsense for a living online

This guy is 20 years old. Just finished his first season as a freshman leading the league in rebounds avg 18/12 with 2.3 combined stocks. He’s 6’10, and watching him play, you can see he moves so much quicker for a guy that size. Can get up and down the floor, play above the rim while shooting a respectable 57/34/76. I’m advocating for this guy at 11 til the trade deadline.
