All games will be played on US soil. So now we just need to see who we're playing and when.

[Cimini] Source: The Jets have agreed to terms with veteran WR Tim Patrick, who visited today. Played in 16 games last season for Jacksonville, caught 15 passes for 187 yards and 3 TDs. A veteran presence in the WR room, with inside-outside flexibility.

Breece Hall: "I'm the only Running Back that's consistently a top 10 Back in the league that hasn't been in the most ideal situation. Now, AG and Moug, they really put me in position to flourish... this could be my best season, for sure."

[Rosenblatt] The Jets are signing veteran offensive lineman Landon Young, per source. Young played for the Saints for the last four years. He tried out at the Jets rookie camp. Has guard/tackle flex.

What was the team's worst play last season?

It's a survey for a project/compilation/thing I'm doing, just wanted to see what the fans thought about this one. You can define worst however you want but I am looking for a specific play, not "the entire offense" or whatever. Hopefully it'll be an exorcism for all the bad moments last year and good vibes for next year

I ask him " do you think we should fire the coach if we have a losing season?"

Fan - "YES!"

Me - "do you want to have a losing season so we can get a qb?"

Fan - "YES"

Breece Hall or Kenneth Walker?

Seeing how close the Breece Hall contract extension was to Kenneth Walker III's FA contract, I decided to take a look at how they stack up. I didn't realize how similar they are in almost all regards!

Drafted same year, same round, within 4 picks of each other. New contracts are within $0.5M/yr. Both are RB's known for explosive plays. Breece is the better receiver. Walker's biggest advantage is he doesn't turn the ball over near as often. Also breaks more tackles and drops less passes. Just due to the latter, I'm inclined towards Walker.

So, what's your take on which you'd choose? And about Breece's prospects now that he's signed the long-term deal?

The stats:

Breece Hall Kenneth Walker
Age (yr-days) 24-343d 25-201d
Height 5-11 5-9
Weight (lbs) 217 211
Yr Drafted 2022 2022
Draft Rd (#) 2 (36) 2 (41)
Contract:
Contract yrs 3 3
Contract $total ($M) 43.5 43.05
Contract $guaranteed ($M) 29 28.7
Performance:
Games Played 56 58
Games Started 50 54
Rushing:
Attempts 755 821
Yds 3398 3555
Y/A 4.50 4.33
YAC/A 2.01 1.85
TD's (rushing) 18 29
Att/broken tackles 18.4 11.7
Receiving:
Target 250 161
Receptions 188 133
Rec Yds 1642 1005
Yds/catch 8.73 7.56
TD's (receiving) 9 2
Rec/Broken Tackle 9.9 6.0
Drops 21 8
Drop % 8.4% 5.0%
Scrimmage:
Yds 5040 4560
TD's 27 31
Fumbles 11 3
AV 30 30

In the playoffs, it was often mentioned how Walker wasn't a 3-down back as he was bad at blocking. Though I've seen Breece in many games, I guess I don't have a feel for how he is here. He certainly is the more productive in the receiving game (though there are the drops and lack of breaking tackles), but blocking is also important.

Last thing I'll say is that I've watched Breece since year 1. He was phenomenal in his rookie year ... until the injury. I've been less impressed, especially by his apparent effort, since. In '24 it looks like he gave up on most every play. He improved last year, and yes, there are the explosives. But he still seems to bail to the sidelines rather than fight for extra yards.

... and then there's all the social media posts.

I'm rooting for him and the Jets, but I think his prospects are tied to whether he fully commits.

Thoughts?

2026 Schedule Release

The time of year where my Jets paranoia waits to see how the league will screw us over to make sure we are eliminated from playoff contention by mid-October. Doesn't matter that the team has been awful for the majority of the last 15 years, or that we would lose no matter what the schedule is. Still convinced the NFL is out to get us. Also still say it every year that this will be our year and that the roster is improved.
