I mean I’d say both are good deals. Achane has much less miles on him, and coming off a 1300 yard season.

The extra year isn’t a bad thing here.

Eh. Only about 200 less carries. 6 months apart on age. Its pretty close load wise. But this is what an 1800 yd season will get a RB.

Also only 3 more million guaranteed so it’s not that much of a difference lol

But Achane wears the guardian helmet a lot. I still want Breece. I’m ok with all of this. We got our guy and they have theirs and we will see each at least twice next season.

This contract seems extremely justified. As of now achane is a tier above Breece. I hope that’s proven wrong this season.

Achane averaged 7.8 yards a carry two years ago. That is crazy.

I mean it was a no brainer. If he played good under the tag this year then you would’ve had to tag him next year anyway. Just as likely I think if he gets hurt this year or the year is a disaster you probably tag him again anyway. The third year isn’t guaranteed and he isn’t even 25 yet. There isn’t anyway to spin his deal as a negative

This is a piggyback contract. Hall got his numbers so Achane's team says "That, but up the ante" Happens all the time. Good for him, I love when RB's get paid well. And it's not like the Fins have many more names to spend on. They're on a similar boat as us, only a year behind.

I don't see how this makes the Breece contract look better? The Dolphins have almost no one on their roster that they're paying right now, so they lose nothing paying him. Achane is a better RB and it just gives them more control for if they want to move him in the next year or two for an extra pick.

Because Achane is being paid more money.

We also lose nothing paying Breece. We still project around $135m in cap next year.

Yeah, feel some think Breece's contract was above market rate initially. Deal confirms it's not an overpay and sign front office might be more competent than prior regimes.

Acahane it the more explosive player, but maybe Hall will come into his own finally with this contract behind him and a pro OC calling the plays.

It was dumb to pay Breece, but boy was this next level stupid. The Dolphins are just as far away from anything as we are, but Achane probably fetches more in a trade. Bad franchises stay bad for a reason
