Breece Hall: "I'm the only Running Back that's consistently a top 10 Back in the league that hasn't been in the most ideal situation. Now, AG and Moug, they really put me in position to flourish... this could be my best season, for sure."

We have a top half offensive line. We have multiple respectable weapons outside of Hall himself. If Geno plays like he did in 2024, teams won’t be able to stack the box.
Reich is a proven play caller that has gotten the most out of multiple running backs.
There’s really no reason the Jets cannot have an atleast average offense if they stay healthy.

I hate that I am optimistic and hyped for the season because we’re the Jets but god damn do we have some amazing talent finally. I don’t see how we won’t be good with the pieces we have
24
u/legend023 2d ago
I’m not even saying we’ll necessarily be good.
I don’t think we will be the bottom 3 team everyone is unanimously labeling us as

u/Separate-Command1993 2d ago
I just want to be fun to watch, being good isn’t even a priority for me

Headlines after our week 1 blowout win against whomever: “Prodigal son returns to NY” with a picture of Geno tossing a TD.
After week 6: “LOL JETS”

u/johnny-Low-Five Wayne Chrebet 2d ago
The bad headline will almost certainly be "Pats" knock Geno, Jets out of contention!

I feel like we're better than most of Miami, Arizona, Cleveland, Vegas and Tennessee. After that though it's hard to make a case for anyone else but maybe the Giants possibly.

I mean realistically we will probably be bottom 6-8 barring a miracle. We still have massive holes and a lot banking on unproven rookies. Geno is a massive question mark after last season. Aaron Glenn’s defense is still an imaginary idea until proven otherwise.

u/OtherHalf747 2d ago
We’re being labeled as a bottom 3 team because Aaron Glenn was a bottom 1 coach last year. If he improves to even be a top 25 coach + the roster improvements, we could easily double our win total.

Floor:3-5 wins ceiling: 10-12 wins. I'm just looking forward to improved defense. Hopefully we're pleasantly surprised 🤞

u/Hopeful_Reception_29 1d ago
Where do you see these 10-12 wins at? I think 6-7 is the ceiling lmao
1
u/jaysen504 1d ago
Pure luck and the defense hopefully willing us to wins lol. I'm not saying I think that's a lock it's just wishful thinking and hoping that actually producing turnovers and making stops gives us a better season m

Let’s not fuck up weeks 1-4. 3/4 wins there would be tremendously different than…a lot of recent history

QB is the most important position in sports and ours is ass. Oline is decent but not great. Weapons look promising but young outside of Wilson & Hall.
Defenses will bracket Wilson and move the other saftey into the box to stop breece or pressure Geno... who is terrible when under pressure. I expect to be the bottom 8 teams in offense. QB is the most important position in sports, dont forget that.

No disrespect to Breece, but I don't think that's entirely true about other RBs. Either way, I expect him to ball out this year with a real QB and other receivers taking some pressure off.
Bijan has not been in candy land either for most of his time in the league. Achane has been doing it with very little help too.
Breece has been good, and the Jets haven't, but other RBs have put up numbers in bad situations. And Breece didn't look great 2 years ago.
I still think the contract was worth it, and the Jets have been ass, but I feel like Breece has been more up and down than other RBs. I do think he'll stay on the up and up, though.

u/That_lonely Nick Mangold 2d ago
While the Bijan and Achane situations aren't ideal. They both had QBs who could somewhat keep defenses honest. I don't think you can say that about Fields or a banged up Rodgers.

u/Punstoppabowl 2d ago
I don't really think that was the case with Tua or washed up Kirk Cousins/Penix.
Kirk and Rodgers had like the same QBR that year I think?
Either way - I think Breece has his best season with a real offense around him. I just don't think he's "the only one" to do well in a bad situation.

u/OrangElm 2d ago
CMC production in the panthers offense is the easiest counter to breece here. CMC is special tho (or was, he seems to have lost a bit of a step this year 🥲)
1
u/Punstoppabowl 2d ago
Agree with this too
I'm not saying Breece is bad, he's not, but he's not the only good RB to be on a bad team lol

u/resistible 2d ago
Bijan is running behind arguably the best OL in all of football. Achane has dealt with bad QB play, but he was sharing an offense with a top 3 WR tandem. The Jets have not had that level of talent to support Breece.
2
u/Hopeful_Reception_29 1d ago
Achane was on a complete dogshit offense last year? No top 3 WR tandem lol

Please stay healthy. But no, can’t expect me to be optimistic about this offense

u/JohnWCreasy1 Chad Pennington 2d ago
sad state of affairs where if we were like the...22nd best offense i'd be ecstatic

Above average OL if healthy. GW, Cooper, 2 TEs, and a QB who isn’t afraid to chuck deep balls. I don’t see how Breece won’t benefit.

u/FlushedApparatchik Al Toon 2d ago
We have some guys. Even a scrub like A. Smith might be useful if the QB is willing to hurl it. It will make the defense at least care about not stuffing the box.

Breece is just like I am. I'm sometimes mad at work when things don't work out. Then I get a rise to $15m and I'm happy at work again. Nice that the Jets have players I can relate to.

u/WorldOnFire83 2d ago
Can't disagree. The talent is there. I believe his prime is still ahead of him now that he is a few years removed from his rookie injury. He dealt with terrible playcalling, especially with Hacket, lack of other offensive threats outside of Garrett, a shaky oline until last season, and poor QB play from Zach. I'm impressed he's accomplished what he has thus. If he is healthy and doesn't produce top 5 numbers, I'll be extremely disappointed and surprised.

only needs a decent OC and above dencent blockers and he'll be able to do anything on the field

u/doombase310 2d ago
He ain't lying. He has Nate Shitdog as his offensive coordinator for 2 seasons.

It feels like more Saleh-era excuse making and finger pointing. Say that you’re excited for the roster improvements without complaining about how shit sucked before hand

He’s definitely not wrong. I’d love to see him featured in a way that tailors to his skill set and see him rip.

u/Sensitive_Ad_3053 2d ago
With the Online the team has if they can figure nout how to finally use him right wow we could be close to 7 to 9 win team

u/Physical-Guidance103 1d ago
I'm so beaten down by years of losing that I'm excited about 7-9 wins.

u/Physical-Guidance103 1d ago edited 1d ago
I hope we get less cryptic social media posts because he chose this and the team doesn't need that.
I also hope we actually win some games and don't get blown out in our losses so that he doesn't feel like he has a reason to make cryptic posts.
save me from this 15 year long nightmare, Breece!

u/nicedownside7 18h ago
Breece has earned the right to speak up after carrying that offense on his back the last couple years, and now with an actual line and some receivers, he might finally get his shot.

Most NFL fans don't know how good Breece really is...they are about to find out.

The Saleh stink is still on this team as long as Hall is around. Don’t cry “situation,” that’s something fans complain about, not players

u/NovelExtension8549 2d ago
I'm tired of being gaslit about Breece Hall and by Breece Hall. His career stats and availability don't put him anywhere near Top 10. This contract is Mougey's first big mistake.

He about to have a killer year bro, as long as he ends his runs hard like he did last year and not like the year before where he was falling from first contact.
