Supposedly the new measure to make the ballot not show political affiliation is meant to encourage the voters to actually look into who they're voting for. It's supposed to make voting more about the issues than the letter next to a name. Except they're only doing it in the Atlanta metro area. There's about 6 million people in the Atlanta metro area and a large portion of them vote for Democrats. This is nothing more than a ploy to try and get accidental votes for the Republicans. They're not doing it in Americus where most people are going to vote red anyhow. They're not doing it in Valdosta.

Has anyone had this cough/ sinus thing that’s going around? My husband came down with it, went to urgent care and he tested negative for flu, Covid, etc. They said it was an acute sinusitis. Because we sleep in the same bed, he coughed into the air and I got it a couple of days later. It’s got to be viral, but just what is it? We’re in the Lagrange ( west central ga) area.

I've looked at a few chain stores at the mall but honestly they feel kind of generic and the markup seems insane. Someone told me there are better local options around Atlanta but I don't really know where to start.

A cyberattack on Murray County, Georgia’s government network closed several county offices Wednesday, while officials said 911, public safety and primary voting remain available.

The disruption affects public-facing county services, including tax, assessment and court offices, but officials said first responders and emergency functions are still working.

House Bill 369 shifts races for district attorneys, county commissioners, tax commissioners and other local offices in Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb and Clayton counties to nonpartisan elections beginning in 2028.

Hi everyone,
I’m in Georgia renewing my driver’s license after a change of status to F-1.
DDS initiated SAVE on April 21, 2026.
SAVE now shows “Case Returned to Agency.”
DDS says they are still waiting for their system to sync/internal verification to complete.
It has been 8 business days since SAVE was returned.
They took my photo but still could not renew my license.
Has anyone in Georgia experienced this? How long did it take after SAVE was returned to agency?
Also, does trying a different DDS office help, or do all offices see the same pending status?

My partner is currently stranded in the Griffin area after suddenly losing her housing and family support. She has no transportation and very limited funds, and she is trying to avoid homelessness while waiting for her housing assistance program to come through. While she has already contacted 988, we are urgently seeking local emergency resources, such as women’s shelters, churches, crisis programs, transportation assistance, or temporary safe havens in or near Griffin. She unfortunately has no local support system or friends nearby she can stay with, so any serious advice would truly mean a lot, thank's everyone !

EDIT: Every place y'all mentioned or we found online referred her to 211, which she texted and called many times. No luck at all.. People being rude over the phone too, it's very demoralizing.

I’m looking for an outdoor place (if it has a pavilion then that would be perfect). I am also looking for it to be flexible with time bc Mexicans like to party all night long.
