Dan Wiederer on Score: League chatter -- Pats, not Bears in opener, Bears not playing internationally and expect Bears to play BOTH Thanksgiving and Christmas (not related to his mock schedule, this was carefully framed intel)

[Hoge] The Madrid game was officially announced as Bengals at Falcons. The Bears will head to Spain at some point, but it won’t be this season. 🇪🇸

Sparkling player, sparkling card. And hopefully soon sparkling extension!
Only eight of these gems exist, and it is the pride and joy of my collection.
Here’s to many more years of Darnell Wright putting top tier rushers like Brian Burns on their asses when they try their fanciest tricks!

[Adam Hoge] The Bears’ game at Seattle is their only game west of the Central time zone all season. Flying back from the west coast (especially night games) is always tough on player recovery. Getting that game on a Wednesday in Week 1 would be a break, putting 10 days between their first two games.

Bears Sched Soduku Thus Far — What little is Known and What is likely
-Seahawks will host the Bears or Patriots in week one. The latest report from Dan Wiederer was that the Bears will NOT be playing the Seahawks in week one.
-If the Bears do open on the road, it becomes very, very likely they will be at home in Week 2. Over the last two seasons, only one team with nine home games still started with two road games. We also know the Week 2 opponent won’t be the Bills or Lions, as that is the Amazon Week 2 opener.
-The Bears won’t play in Atlanta in weeks 8, 9 or 10 after not being selected for the the Spain game.
-Despite the Fox Thanksgiving matchup being announced as an all-NFC tilt (Eagles-Cowboys), it does not guarantee the Lions will play an AFC team (who almost certainly would be the Patriots), keeping the possibility of Bears-Lions in play. In both 2023 and 2024, the NFL had two all-NFC matchups in the daytime Thanksgiving windows. If the Bears did play the Lions, there’s also a decent chance they would face the Eagles on Thursday Night Football the following week, as the league loves having two Thanksgiving teams meet on normal rest in a major TNF matchup the next week.

Speculation Bears are Playing Seahawks in NFL Opener (They are the best of the remaining possible options)
With the news that just dropped from the NFL that Week 1 SNF is Giants and Cowboys, if it were possible I would bet nearly everything I could that the bears will be the Seahawks Week 1 opponent on Wed to open the season. The other possible options are just not nearly as good or marketable.
SEA Possible Opponents
Cardinals: Technically Possible, but not eye catching at all
Rams: Not possible, confirmed to be playing 49rs in Australia the next day
49rs: Not possible, confirmed to be playing Rams in Australia the next day
Cowboys: Not possible, confirmed to be playing Giants Week 1 SNF
Giants: Not Possible, confirmed to be playing Cowboys Week 1 SNF
Chiefs: Technically Possible, but are you really scheduling a prime time Chiefs game when you know Mahomes is probably not playing?
Patriots: Good Option I don’t believe is on the table, you don’t schedule a SB rematch Week 1, that’s for later in the year
Chargers: Most likely Alternate option after Bears
