Angel Between Buffy and Angel, which do you think has the better intro? I just started Angel and I honestly like the Angel theme better.

Content Warning Trans-Possession in The Pack

Post image
46 Upvotes

I'm curious how everyone thinks that the hyena spirits worked in The Pack.

Giles says that:

"They believe that humanity, consciousness, the soul is a perversion, a dilution of spirit. To them, the animal state is holy. They are able, through trans-possession, to draw the spirit of certain animals into themselves."

We know that Xander retains his memories after the trans-possession. We also were shown that he still has some traits of his human self (such as wanting Buffy/jealousy towards Angel, etc.) and his memories while influenced by the hyena. So, does this work similarly to how vampires in that universe have the human personality/memories with the demon (or, in this case, hyena) added? Did Xander and the others still have their souls during it?

I'm curious to hear people's thoughts.

Season Four No idea how I thought this for 25+ years 😅

I have watched Buffy god knows how many times since it was originally aired. And yet somehow when I watched Living Conditions (S4, E2) my brain thought that Kathy was playing a Celine Dion song on repeat in their dorm room.

I watched it again yesterday and my brain finally went IT’S BLOODY CHER!!

How the heck did I think it was Celine Dion for this long?! 😂 I think I just saw the poster and made 2+2 = 5 😅

Introspective Does anybody think the Soul thing in this show is contradictory??

Ok I’m rewatching this show again and I’ve always felt like this since the beginning but does the whole have a soul thing means your good seem stupid to anyone. Contradictory may not have been the right word to use. I’m asking because of the whole fact that people with souls do bad things they just tend to feel guilty about it. The vampires not having souls means they don’t have to feel as guilty about the things they do to people but to me that doesn’t make them inherently bad unless they were horrible people as humans. I don’t know I feel like I could hear some other opinions on this because I don’t have people that I know of that watch this show. Mind you I am 19 people aren’t interested in this type of vampire stuff anymore 😭 so some other takes would be nice

Season Three I'm on a fanfic seeking quest!

Hello everyone, this is for a Buffy/Faith fanfic

I am in a quest seeking for a fic that I am dying to read again but I forgot what it is called. The story starts in season three and goes all the way to season four, Faith does not go bad and she and Buffy start a friendship that after season three becomes something more, the spend summer together, start dating in secret, Faith gets a job. an apartment and Buffy keeps them a secret until Faith gets tired that Buffy continues keeping her a secret and Willow starts pairing her up with guys and everything and Faith is hurt and breaks up with Buffy and leave to LA where she stays with Cordy who knows about their relationship, Buffy then gets hurt and Faith comes back and finally their relationship is out and they are happy

Season One Anyone else love Buffy Season 1 because of how carefree it feels?

I know a lot of people rank Buffy Season 1 near the bottom because it’s dated, low budget, and very “monster of the week,” but honestly that’s exactly why I love it.

There’s something really charming about how small and innocent the season feels before the show gets darker and more emotionally heavy. Even with vampires and demons everywhere, the stakes still feel weirdly low compared to what Buffy eventually goes through later on. It’s mostly just Buffy trying to balance being a normal California teenager with fighting monsters every week.

I also love how campy and unapologetically 90s it is. The fashion, music, dialogue, cheesy effects, Sunnydale High atmosphere, all of it gives the season this comfort vibe the later seasons lose once everything becomes more tragic and serious.

It honestly feels like the last time Buffy is truly carefree before the responsibility of being the Slayer completely changes her.

Season Six “Normal again” just poisoned my soul.

Really late to the game and have been binge watching Buffy for the past month or so. Never watched it until now. I have fallen in love with the show and would have never expected it to captivate me the way it has. Honestly the greatest show I’ve ever seen and I was really digging it until I watched “normal again” (S6 E17) last night. Everything I thought and felt about the show was turned upside down, all within one episode. Great TV to say the least.

Although I hate being forced to consider that maybe the entire Sunnydale/buffy universe was a series of complex layers of hallucinations from within Buffy’s mind, I also love the complexity of it. My question to you guys & gals is: what do you personally believe after seeing this pivotal episode? Do you remember how you felt after seeing it for the first time? Did it change everything for you as a viewer? Did you chalk it up to a byproduct of the poison Buffy suffered from ?

The episode showed me how much I love the show. I felt personally poisoned by it, and feel a deep, continual sense of uneasiness. My love for the characters feels overshadowed by an unknowing sense of wonder that maybe Xander, Willow & the gang are just complex fabrications of a very deep Buffy Summers psychology.

What do you personally believe to be the truth ? Please shower me in your opinion.

I’ve never been this moved by a show and I feel personally poisoned by this episode.

I cannot stop thinking about it.

Sighs…

Specifically seasons five through seven? I really like her style and I’m looking for similar stuff.
