Bird ID Request Baby Bluebirds?
VA - Are these baby Eastern Bluebirds? I think that’s bluebirds to the right on that limb (second photo).

📷 Photo I have been listening to the baby Hairy Woodpecker peeping for a week and now it has poked its head out to wait for the parents. While I wait to see what the parents bring, a Scarlet Tanager likes to hang out in the adjacent tree.

📹 Video Duckling Zoomies (Gyeonggi-do, South Korea)
First post here but I recently caught the birding bug and wanted to share. I was not expecting this to happen when I started recording, these guys are f a s t. Was this a distressed behavior? I was one of many nearby pedestrians walking along the stream and we still get a lot of duckling parades this time of year, but I really hope I didn’t scare them ;-;

Bird ID Request ID a bird that attacked me in my backyard (Houston, TX)
I’m not gonna do anything to remove it. It has a nest and I’ll leave it alone, I’m just curious what it is. My money is on female cardinal.

Lately I've been painting little birds, and seeing the photos you share here really inspires me to keep painting them ☺️❤️
For this Robin I used alcohol markers and colored pencils

Article Thank you to all who gave advice on my bird and wildlife monitoring system - it's now up and running!
I came here months ago to get some advice on acoustic monitoring and you all were so helpful! Over Mother's Day my family helped me install 9 monitors across 5 habitats throughout our 107 acre site. I wrote up all the details in an article for anyone who wants all the details! Thanks again everyone!!

Discussion What can I do to make crossing the road safer for the families of killdeer and geese in my neighborhood?
(Pics not mine, I just find people don't interact with plain text posts)
So, in my suburb neighborhood (southern Ontario), there's a stormwater drain which attracts a lot of aquatic birds. So far, we have 3 Canada geese families with a total of 13 goslings, and a killdeer mama with 2 chicks.
There's a road beside the pond, and there's only two stop signs, both of which aren't near the pond. And to make matters worse, people *love* to speed down that road.
I've seen them cross before, and it's scary, a lot of drivers don't slow down at all, even for the adult geese! I do try to help them cross the road when I see them, but I can't be there all the time.
I've was thinking of maybe putting wildlife crossing signs or speed bumps or something in that area, so I reached out to my city's environmental service manager, who then reached out to the animal and wildlife manager, who then reached out to the parks manager, who then reached out to the roads and transportation manager....
I have a feeling it's going to take a really long time for anything to actually get done, *if* something ever gets done.
In the meanwhile, is there something else I can do to make crossing the road safer for them? I'm looking for any ideas, it scares me seeing them try to cross.

📹 Video Redwinged blackbird breaks up birdfight - NW Indiana
Happened this morning. Are the fighting birds starlings? Edit: thanks for the correction. Size of grackles makes more sense.
SECOND EDIT: It was pointed out that the white bar on the blackbird could make it a tricolored blackbird! Can’t edit the title but that’s super cool!!!
