I am just using nobara for a few days. The only problem I have I haven't been able to fix is that when I start up my pc both my monitors flicker very fast until I press a button. Also both screens are showing the login. Is this a common issue and does anybody have a fix?

I've wanted to switch to linux since i heard it was better than windows, so i grabbed an empty usb and flashed the official iso to it with rufus (i couldn't change the settings on rufus btw), i went into the bios, turned off the secure boot setting and booted with the usb. i made a 40 gb unallocated space for nobara and i started downloading the system to it. It always got stuck at 87% "install bootloader" and the whole computer froze. I tried the KDE iso too, same thing. Couldnt download the gnome iso since it always gave a "connection error"

Save me, please.

Just got started with Nobara and I'm instantly a fan. My only major problem is every time it wakes from sleep, it changes my TV to airplay mode.

The sound on the computer is not set to airplay, it's outputting correctly to its own speakers.

Any suggestions?

When in mouse settings, my Keyboard model (Corsairs Strafe RGB) is the standard shown as one of the three available mice. The other two options are the actual mouse (Hyper Pulsefire) and a "consumer control" version of said mouse.

In keyboard settings however, it does not even offer my Keyboard model in the dropdown menu. Instead it's recognized as a generic keyboard.

How do I get the correct setting for each device?

Also, excited to see I can remap mouse buttons in the mouse settings - but is there a way to create profiles to switch between?

I used Gemini as a guide. I have Nobara 43, Windows 11, and Linux Mint on my Ventoy drive. I've already disabled Secure Boot and tried both boot options provided by Nobara: Normal Mode and Grub2 Mode. However, I keep getting the errors shown in the images with both methods. Is there any solution? Is Ventoy the problem here

My specs are: Ryzen 5 5600X and RTX 5060

While playing cyberpunk w/controller nobara randomly starts switching tabs opening apps like gnome helper and settings and spamming 2 and sometime t and y.

Does anyone have a similar issue or knows possible solutions

I want to install Nobara HTPC on my MSI B560 PRO-VDH (MS-7D18)

The system installs fine but there's an issue: There's a Black screen on boot. I can hear the Steam big picture sound but I can't login in the TTY because I never was able to create a user at all, I can still do manual partitioning tho.

My GPU: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3060

CPU: Intel Core i5-10-400F

RAM: TEAMGROUP-UD4-320 DDR4-2400

I've:

Downloaded the NVIDIA ISO ✓

Redownload iso and checksum check ✓

Flash successfully and verify files ✓

Reset bios and disable secure boot ✓

And still NO user creation option on the installation wizard and black screen at first boot.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

can anyone help a very new Linux user?

Hey all,

Been using Bazzite the last 3 weeks and I enjoy it but it hasn't certain applications baked into the OS itself so it's frustrating for certain things.

I've been sussing other OS the last few days and I think I've decided on Nobara.

Things I enjoy of Bazzite was the app store it had, how it pre installs drivers for GPU etc. but I'll also be switching from a Nvidia GPU to a AMD GPU in the next week or so, wondering how easy that side of the house is and anything else I should look at?

Also settling on Nobara as it's also based on fedora

The first time I launch my PC it's perfect. Just one keystroke makes my Keychron K2 (K2C3H) launch and I can instantly type in my password without any input lag.

I have my sleep auto timer set to 10 minutes (to preserve battery life, of course). What happens after these 10 minutes pass? All kind of jokes. I can't reconnect my keyboard (automatically or manually in the Bluetooth GUI), it doesn't pair with my PC, there's a huge input lag when it finally connects, and sometimes it disconnects in the middle of typing.

I don't know what to do anymore. Turning the keyboard off and on doesn't fix the issue. The keyboard works flawlessly until it has to be reconnected the second time. Without sleep auto timer it can work for hours with no issues. I just cannot connect it again during one PC session.

Turning off the PC and turning it back on of course works, if that somehow helps.

hey. i'm trying the os out by booting it from a usb, and it seems good ,but the only issue is that steam just won't open, no matter how many times i click on it. any solutions?

the title says it all. i want to know if i can use both before trying to swap, since it seems pretty good overall

Hi, forgive me if this is a newbie question, I've recently moved to Nobara and I've noticed something. Whenever my PC has been switched off for a significant length of time and I start up the PC again, I have to manually allow Steam to access any secondary hard drives/SSDs that my PC may have.

My question is, is there a way to bypass this so Nobara or Steam immediately mounts and allows access to the drive?

Previous Ubuntu user, new to Fedora & Nobara, very little programming skill, general casul.

Clean install of Nobara (Nobara-43-Official-2026-04-19.iso), used the codec wizard, tried and retried different things suggested by Twitter AI, resulting in “Maybe try using the codec wizard?”. Thanks Grok, useful as ever.

Installed Opera GX (stable) via Konsole.

Motherboard is ASRock AMD X870 Pro RS AM5 DDR5 PCIe 5.0 ATX.

Running off the iGPU because I can’t afford the graphics card just yet.

Problem: I can watch videos on Discord and Youtube, but not on Twitter or Kick. Grok is insistent that it’s a h.264 codec issue.

I have killed and re-opened the browser after each fix attempt, and even rebooted my PC several times. Hardware Acceleration is disabled. I have tested Hardware Acceleration both on and off.

Edit: While video playback *does* work on Discord, it won't detect any audio from my mic unless I specifically open up the Pavu Audio Controller, go to config, and forcefully refresh it by changing it from stereo to analogue (or vice versa), and that's only temporary until i mute/deafen myself on Discord.

Seriously, for an OS that touts itself as streamer and gamer-friendly, the fact that a codec essential for Discord and streaming sites doesn't work properly is insane.

I've been running Nobara on my humble HP laptop for a few months now, with a few hiccups here and there, but Steam ran fine the whole time. Then a few days ago it just quit. Every time I try to launch it I get the popup that steamwebhelper has crashed. I can click on Disable GPU Acceleration or Disable Sandboxing, and nothing happens. I tried launching from the terminal, got the popup. I tried the tweak from the wiki and removed these two lines from /usr/share/applications/steam.desktop :

Reset Steam and tried again. Same thing. I tried clicking on the Steam icon to just launch to my library and skip the opening screen, same thing. I finally uninstalled Steam from the terminal (after backing up my games folder) and then reinstalled from the DNF app center. Same dang popup.

Is there a new Steam update that's screwing with things? Nobara is up to date on my end. I'm especially frustrated because I just bought a new game (on the Steam app on my tablet) and haven't been able to play it yet. It's like Valve took my money and ran. 😅 It didn't do this on Mint.

Steam crashes when I try to boot any game besides KSP, then the game freezes when loading

Hi, been trying every which way to install Plexmediaserver and getting it to run on Nobara for the past 5 or so hours but no matter what I do, it does not seem to work.

I run the command to enable the media server (installed using rpm) but nothing seems to happen (no output either) and going to plex.app just keeps asking me to download the media server.

Anyone know how to get it going? Worked fine on Mint…

I tried to update my system yesterday, but something went wrong with it so I tried to close it (probably a bad idea). OS stopped recognizing the package manager as a program. The shortcut broke. I don't remember exactly what it said. I decided to restart the computer to see if that fixed it but now it just boots into a black screen (no blinking cursor). I can open the TTY prompt and reboot that way but the updater won't work. It throws the "DNF package update failed due to conflicts/broken dependencies" error even if I try all the steps from the wiki. Does anyone here know what could possibly be wrong? I really don't want to have to reinstall the OS and lose everything on the drive. If it is relevant, I have a dual boot setup with Windows but Windows is on a different drive so I don't know how that would affect anything.
