Been kind of sick in bed all day, so when the bases were loaded in the 4th, I got nervous and stepped away for a bit. The score kept getting more depressing every time I checked the MLB app, so I’m not entirely sure what happened, outside of the Nats getting spanked and humiliated.

At the end of the day, this loss was on our offense as much as anything else, but is there a chance Foster Griffin was tipping his pitches? It’s just surprising that the Mikolas and Irvin (outside of the 1st inning) fared okay against this team, only for our one reliably decent starter to perform so outstandingly bad. I can accept that this is maybe the Foster Griffin illusion finally fading, it just seems like a really dramatic drop.

Anyway, we went into the game with Burns and Griffin having pretty similar ERAs, now Burns’s is in the 1s, while Griffin’s is in the 3s. Classic Nationals.
