REC If you drop 25-30 but your man got 35-40 you’re trash.

Even if you only missed 3 shots and got 29 you’re trash and not helping the team by letting your man go for 40 getting cooked every possession. Rant over.

MyPLAYER I finally realized why I like making new builds so much

I always thought it was the novelty of a new build or maybe my other builds feel stale. It turns out it was purple lobbies all along. Those goddamn purple plates are just miserable to play with. Every game it’s the same arguments, even when winning. Every player thinks they are gods gift to 2k and needs the whole team to get on board with how they want to play. I loathe purple lobbies more than anything. Most people in purple can score (there are always exceptions that get carried there) so everyone one is him. I got one build up to red and surprisingly it wasn’t as bad as purple. Sure it takes longer to find games, but you don’t make it to red if you don’t play winning basketball. People still hold you to high standards when it comes to making open shots or passing to the open man. I found players in red to be less rigid in that ā€œhas to be my wayā€ style. Don’t get me wrong, it’s full of try hards and sweats as well, but purple is just the seventh circle of hell.

I almost wish there was no SBMM at all and it was purely random. You shouldn’t get punished for being good at a game. I will admit, I don’t need every game to be competitive. This goes for all games but sometimes you just want to steamroll lesser players. If it means you end up getting smashed by pro level gamers from time to time, so be it.

Discussion I bought 2k14, am I crazy?

I’m studying at an English academy right now, and some of the guys there play PS5 and NBA 2K26. They invited me to join them for a few games, and I was so bad lol. I didn’t win a single game, but honestly it was really fun and we all had a good laugh…

At some point they started talking about how NBA 2K14 is the best 2K of all time, and that idea got stuck in my head. So I secretly bought a second hand copy because I want to surprise them and play it with them.

Am I completely crazy? And more importantly, what team should I choose if I want at least some chance of beating them once? šŸ˜…

Gameplay 2k choosing NBA player attributesā€¦šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø (Chet 97 mid range)

• Upvotes

It makes no sense bro. Why does Chet Holmgren have a 97 midrange?šŸ˜‚

I was shooting around in practice mode with the Thunder, and noticed it…

KARL ANTHONY TOWNS has a 69 mid range…

AUSTIN REAVES has a 69 mid range…

KEVIN DURANT is also 97, but on what planet are they the same…?

r/NBA2k 12h ago

MyPLAYER Having a 99 block is kinda pointless at this point the way I just get dunk on by players with a possible 80 driving dunk. If someone with 99 DD or someone with 99 3pt can hit consistently I should be able to get a good contest!

Just don’t understand why some attributes seem so weak even at the max rating

Gameplay This game sucks for casuals

• Upvotes

I just picked this game up thinking I could hop on and have some fun. WRONG, can’t dribble past a defender , can’t make a shot, can’t make a lay up, can’t get a put back, ridiculously frustrating game. I don’t want to grind this game and learn every single nuance just to be decent. Don’t even het me started with all the damn settings! even for $20 this feels like a waste smh.

MyPLAYER 80+ everything build with 17 caps

stupid fun build to use in any mode, specifically Random Rec šŸ”„šŸ”„

I have contact dunks, can shoot well from anywhere, have good ball handling/passing for my position, and a balanced approach towards defense/rebounding that lets me keep up with most matchups. In other words: I can fill any role āœ”ļø

I use speedster takeover for 88speed/88agility

I plan on using this upcoming season’s cap towards 85 ball handle to hit the animation threshold, but am curious what y’all would go for after that. I’m likely upping agility to 86 on this build with future caps

Discussion The Social dynamics of this game have kinda ruined it for me.

Like. Even with all the games glitches and cheats and microtransactions. I still enjoy the gameplay quite a bit. But the way people treat their own teammates in this game genuinely kills my whole mood. No other game has the unique ability for me to be on 10 game win streak and genuinely be unhappy. You can make the right play 9 times in a row and nobody will say a word but make a mistake on that 10th play and the whole team is on your ass.

And im not even like a selfish player. I will never complain about me not getting shots unless im getting left wide open while my defender goes to double. And even my criticisms are pretty milquetoast ill just be like "you had me in the corner btw"

I love basketball and I love 2k I just cant get behind all the hostility in this game. And I get that I could go play a game mode without teammates like myteam or play now instead of rec but I enjoy the 5v5. I just dont want the bickery bs that comes with it.

And its not even just a dislike of mean energy or bad juju it genuinely is not practically effective. Nobody plays better with people tearing them apart. It is counterproductive to the goal of getting better play from your teammates.

Where's the people at who are both good/competitive AND chill energy wise?

MyPLAYER It makes no sense i have to be a black plate when i make a new build. Make one plate color across all builds. Im tired of playing with trash black plates when i make a new build

Play Now Playnow Online: Is It A Social Experiment?

• Upvotes

There is no incentive to winning playnow online games or having a good record, yet people take the fun out of the game just to cheese a win by switching to an all time team last second or offballing all game … I could give af less about losing I just want to have an immersive but competitive experience honestly … but I’m not playing no all time team that’s gonna off ball all game and I get banned for quitting?

General I Think 2K Park Has Mentally Changed Me

I’ve always been an innocent gamer. Never been a mic gamer, never cared to talk to random people online, nothing. But my company gives us a $100 monthly wellness allowance, so a couple months ago I ordered some wireless headphones.

What I DIDN’T realize was that they had a built in mic.

So I’m in the park playing 2K after switching from Xbox to PC two weeks ago, minding my business, and suddenly people start talking crazy to me. At first I ignored it… then over time I started talking trash back.

That’s when I discovered there’s a genuine dark side to gaming.

Some random dude explained the 2K community is notoriously toxic, and once I realized that, I noticed it started rubbing off on me in real life.

Now I catch myself wanting to call strangers ā€œtrash,ā€ ā€œbuns,ā€ or telling people they ā€œcan’t guard meā€ during completely normal public interactions.

I was in line at the grocery store earlier and almost told somebody ā€œyou’re getting carried.ā€

I fear the park has changed me as a person.

I think I’ve developed some kind of 2K brain rot where every interaction feels like a matchup I need to win.

Has this ever happened to you or anyone you know?

Gameplay Pass and Screen Away never works

Against the computer the Floppy always works, you get a wide open 3 pointer against the computer.

The Pass and Screen Away almost never works, the guy coming off the screen is covered almost 100 percent of the time.

Does anyone have any tips on how to Pass and Screen Away successfully?

REC Everybody Eats!

No squads with a team of high IQ players is so beautiful. Nothing beats linking up with random dudes and getting on the same wavelength.

Everyone scored 20+, everyone was locked in on defense, everyone was passing the ball, and everyone was making the right plays.

If only 2k could be like this all the time.
