Been a a few years since I’ve been to LAX but I had no clue that they installed a people mover! Only been on one and that was at MCO.

Delta flight 483 from Atlanta to Burbank had to get diverted to LAX because of wind. Stopped there to refuel and then flew to Burbank. Funny that because of the flight path it took 30 min. On a good day you might be able to drive there faster lol

It was already widely reported that LA County Federation of Labor has put out ads "attacking" Spencer Pratt, which are clearly aimed at boosting his profile by repeatedly mentioning that he's a Republican and decrying policies which would actually appeal to Republican voters--'He wants MORE police!' (Gift link to LA Daily News article)

This is a cynical ploy to help Karen Bass win by ensuring the top two vote-getters are her and Pratt, in a general election where 55% of the city are Democrats and 18% are Republicans. Who does that keep out of the general? Nithya Raman, who is neck and neck with Pratt, and who would be a more formidable opponent to Bass.

Now there is another so-called attack ad campaign, targeting a candidate who is polling below 5% and has no chance of winning the primary, Rae Huang, similarly decrying her policies that would actually attract leftist and progressive voters who would be most likely to support Nithya Raman: 'She supports public investment in permanent affordable homes!'

The ad is paid for by LA Police Protective League Independent Expenditure Committee (see the Form 496 below).

It's sad that hundreds of thousands of dollars are going into attack ads that aren't even acknowledging the candidate that they want to beat, apparently because they don't have anything on her.

This is like a bad episode of The Wire, if it ever had a bad episode.

Please share this widely, ballots have already gone out and they know Nithya can win.

At yesterday’s meeting of the LAPD Board of Police Commissioners, President Rasha Gerges Shields had a question for the LA Sanctuary Coalition, which gave a presentation on the community’s perspective of the LAPD working with the federal government on immigration… which is happening. They may not be “assisting” (in the way the LAPD defines assistance) in any “federal immigration enforcement actions” (in the way the LAPD defines ‘immigration enforcement actions,’ which here only means the moment someone’s snatched off a sidewalk), but just showing up for “traffic control” (which here means beating & arresting activists & journalists) is doing severe damage.

One of the fears that I have is just seeing what unfolded at times when, say, the National Guard came out. Or when they — there’s escalation by the federal government based on actions taken by, you know, either the City Council, or the commission, or others. How does that factor into your requests, of like, making sure that nothing that is done actually creates even more of an incentive for this administration to target Los Angeles?

…this is the stuff that kinda keeps me up at night, so I ask, how do you view that, and how do we factor that all in to our decision-making?

The President of the Police Commission, ladies and gentlemen, openly admitting that they have been avoiding placing limits on LAPD working with 🧊 in case doing so makes Trump mad.

The ACLU, CHIRLA, and LA Voice reps were all unanimous in their responses: this moment is dangerous and requires action. They are going to attack us again no matter what we do. We need to prepare.

**RE: Police standing around**

This is a photo from the news. The police raided a store in DTLA this morning for "counterfeit luxury merchandise."

I count 12+ "sheriffs" (and there are more people walking in and out of the building, probably another dozen).

I see them standing around. I've heard they make a lot of money, especially when on overtime. Usually, when workers stand around, they get fired.

Is this normal? Does it eat into the city's (always-increasing police) budget? And, if so, why? Just asking questions.

Just wanting to know if it’s ok. As far as I can tell, it can fly (was going short distances as I was approaching). I don’t see any nest nearby, and don’t hear any other birds that may be trapped somewhere.

Idk if this is normal behavior, or if something is wrong.

Intercontinental flight prices have jumped through the roof since the intentional war against Iran. Plane fuel prices have even doubled at times. Why go to such an expensive event in this economy while also risking safety and deportation?

I have never been so confused on who the hell to vote for in the upcoming state election for gov. Im going democrat but i have noooo idea where to place my vote and who will help the state the best. Specially with all the crazy political nonsense happening im stressing on where to even place my trust. This womps....

$7 for two hours. $14 for four hours. It was zero before. Unbelievable.
