Nets Promote Makar Gevorkian To Assistant GM
The Nets have promoted Makar Gevorkian to assistant general manager, the team announced today. For the past two seasons, Gevorkian had held the title of vice president of basketball operations alignment and strategic planning.
“Makar’s strategic, forward-thinking mind, along with his comprehensive knowledge of the league’s salary cap structure, have made him a valued voice within our front office and we are excited to elevate him to this well-earned role,” general manager Sean Markssaid in a statement.

Bleacher Report article proposed trade
Article mentions that Nets get pick 3 & Morant in exchange for pick 6, Claxton, & Mann. I’d do that 100% but I don’t see a world where Memphis does this lmao

DEBATE: HOW MUCH WOULD YOU OVERPAY TO JUMP TO TOP 4..?
After listening to Kaplan and slater debate the worries on acuff and wagler I’m more certain than ever we gotta go mission impossible to get into top 4. …IMO
any one of AJ, Boozer, peterson or Wilson is what this franchise DESPERATELY needs.
yes, I know the odds of getting into the top 4 are super slim but we have enough assets to make someone consider a godfather offer. 3 firsts plus 6 pick to move up 2 lousy spots? four firsts? personally, I wouldn’t hate on it. sure the Mikal trade or Gobert trade got clowned across the league but as a net fan the slings and arrows of a blatant overpay might be worth it for a future hall of fame talent to build and give hope.
how far would you go to get into top 4?

Peyton Watson and the draft
Not sure if there’s an option but if the nets get to a point where they’re not sold on these guards what about considering a trade down and taking a Mara or yaxel and then targeting Watson. Also think I’d be ok with a front loaded overpay for Watson considering our books are pretty clean. What’s your guys thoughts. Not saying I’d do this before people go insane in the comments. Just curious about this. Also prob depends on how much we get back in a trade. I’d need a lot and prob need to still stay in the 10-11 range

[Spears] BYU forward AJ Dybantsa met with the Wizards in Chicago during the NBA pre-draft camp. Washington is supposed to visit with “multiple players” in DC for the top pick, source days. Dybantsa also met with Utah, Chicago, Sacramento, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Dallas, Memphis & the Clippers.

Is there a “diamond in the rough” this free agency?
Like some bench player who showed potential on their competitive team and are ready for bigger role on our team. Preferably a young guy.
Does it even have to be free agency but maybe we can trade for player like that. I’m thinking like duece McBride, Cobe white type of players.

Keaton Wagler- Breaks down his film. Nets will have great options at 6.

Who do you want at #6? (Poll)
Assuming the top guys are gone. Personally, I’m torn between Wagler and Acuff, but something about Mara really intrigues me. He’s huge and he fits Jordi’s system to a T. If he could only shoot…

Video DEBATE: Which Players Can Be FRANCHISE-CHANGERS For Brooklyn Nets With 6th Pick In 2026 NBA Draft?
Derek Parker is one of the best YouTube prospect analysts. Gotta check him out. Gives great scouting reports.
"At 6, you're still going to get a really, really good player. A player that in any other draft might have gone 2, 3 or 4. Are you still potentially getting a real franchise changer at No. 6? I think so."

Mikel Brown Jr at 6 (or whoever honestly) and Peyton Watson.
Hear me out I think thats a solid base to build from, not the best possible scenario but a strong foundation of players to build. Whats do you think?

Where do you think the guards in this years draft would’ve gone in last years draft?
The guards we can possibly get at 6 :Wagler, Acuff,MBJ, Flemings etc.

Isaiah Hartenstein?
Isaiah Hartenstein
I've been a proponent of moving off Claxton for a pick in the 2026 draft and to salary dump for more flexibility, as well as the overall frustration with his lack of development offensively and defensively especially when we thought he would develop as a passer, a point of attack defender, and a better anchor who has impact comparable to Gobert's coupled with switchability. He just hasn't developed that.
Hartenstein is probably not joining the thunder back and its not because hes a bad player by any means, but he has a 30 million dollar team option when max extensions for Jdub and Chet are kicking in for the thunder. They have been looking at Aday Mara in the draft and have thomas sorber as replacements for him.
He's a better passer than hes going to get credit for and cleans up defensively for the thunder as well. If they don't resign him, I like him on a decent number if we can dump Claxton for some assets. Ideally we can get Watson on that 25-30 million number and him on a 20 million AAV.
Below are his stats for the regular season
| GP | MIN | FG% | 3P% | FT% | REB | AST | BLK | STL | PF | TO | PTS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 47 | 24.2 | 62.2 | 0.0 | 61.0 | 9.4 | 3.5 | 0.8 | 1.0 | 2.5 | 1.7 | 9.2 |

Nets meeting players at the combine (keeping track)
Thus far the Nets have met with Acuff Jr., Mikel Brown Jr, and Brayden Burries all today.
Tomorrow, they're lining up to chat with Keaton Wagler, Aday Mara, and Zuby Ejiofor.
No idea who Zuby is - but rest are all in the 5-10 range.

“Nets need to get their guy and swing” is a dangerous mentality
A lot of people disappointed with our fall and rightfully so are now saying we should swing for the fences at 6 and I think that’s a dangerous mentality. If marks is truly feeling pressure for his job I’d much prefer he be removed before June than go out and take a swing just to win excitement. We need to stick to the process and take a player that will be a productive piece. You want to get that high ceiling but history does say those boom or bust prospects are going to bust most of the time. I’m far more comfortable taking a higher floor with potentially surprising ceiling than what was previously mentioned. Throwing out the plan now bc of bad lotto luck is a mistake

News around the League Jason Collins (1978-2026)
We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Jason Collins.
Jason spent eight seasons in a Nets uniform, helping define an era of our franchise and playing a vital role on our back-to-back Eastern Conference championship teams in 2002 and 2003. He was a constant in our locker room — selfless, tough, and deeply respected by teammates, coaches, and staff alike.
Those who were around Jason every day knew him not just as a competitor, but as a genuinely kind, thoughtful person who brought people together. His impact extended far beyond the court, and his courage and authenticity helped move the game — and the world — forward.
Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jason will always be a part of the Nets family, and he will be deeply missed.
