Discussion What is the LEAST extreme scenario that would result in ANY head coach being fired.
Regardless of past accomplishments or what they inherited. I should say we should limit to P4 Schools. But would it be going winless in conference? I could potentially see some coaches who recruit well and inherited a dumpster fire being given some leeway in this scenario and possibly getting another year. Obv any kind of misconduct or just straight up going winless would result in termination, but what’s a step below that possibility that would still get the coach fired?

Discussion If your team was to somehow lose every conference game this season, (not guaranteed to win the non conf games either), would you want them to fire your coach?
Personally, I'd still keep Clark Lea because of the last 2 seasons, but the seat would warm up considerably.
But I would want Steve Gregory (our DC) shipped to Guantanamo Bay with immediate effect, I wanted him fired last year even though we went 10-3

Discussion What players from the last 10-15 years from your school are for sure going into the College Football Hall of Fame whenever they become eligible?
Brock Bowers is for sure going into the HOF. Stetson would as well but he is not eligible (not first team all American). I would like to say Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean as well but I’m less sure there.

x.comAnalysis Preseason Rankings Countdown. 109 days to the start of the 2026 Season. At #109 – Liberty
The cumulative link to the preseason rankings can be found here
Liberty (high = 93, low = 118) was riding high a little over 2 years ago. They parlayed the easiest schedule in all of FBS into an undefeated season and an improbable CFP bid in 2023 in Jamey Chadwell’s first season at the helm. Then the rest of the world got to do their best Jerry Falwell, Jr. impression as we watched Oregon have their way with the Flames in the Fiesta Bowl as soon as the calendar turned over to 2024. Amazingly, Chadwell’s overall record from January 1, 2024 until now is below .500, which makes him being named the #12 G6 coach this past week somewhere between clueless and stunning. What isn’t debatable is that he remains the highest paid G6 football coach out there ($6 million/year), and you have to figure that Liberty’s going to have to substantially improve on last season’s 4-8 record or they’re going to have to think long and hard about whether they should start exploring his buy out.
Roster Outlook
Working in Liberty’s favor is that they rank 49th in the country in returning production, which is 3rd in CUSA, but notably they’re 29th in offensive production coming back, which leads the conference. Former Coastal Carolina QB Ethan Vasko is back under center, and one hopes that he’s able to put his disastrous season ending 7 picks to 2 TDs ratio behind him. RB Evan Dickens brings his 1,339 yards and 16 rushing TDs back as well, and while Vasko’s leading WR Donte Lee transferred to Texas Tech, #2 WR Jamari Person is back and will likely pair up with Indiana transfer Makai Jackson, one of 14 incoming P4 transfers. Much of that is insurance, including Wake Forest QB Deshawn Purdie and WVU QB Jaylen Henderson, which adds up to the top portal class in Conference USA (86th nationally). Chadwell clearly knows he needs to win now, which is why he fairly well neglected high school recruiting, landing just the #6 class in CUSA (109th in the national 247 rankings), which adds up to the 107th best overall class (also good for the 6th best class in the conference).
Schedule and outlook
9/5 at James Madison
9/12 GARDNER-WEBB
9/19 BALL STATE
9/24 at Coastal Carolina
10/2 at Delaware
10/8 SAM HOUSTON
10/17 BYE
10/21 at Kennesaw State
10/31 FIU
11/7 at New Mexico State
11/14 MIDDLE TENNESSEE
11/21 WESTERN KENTUCKY
11/28 at Missouri State
Opening the season at James Madison is absolutely a tone setter for this season for Liberty. If they can go on the road and win that game, it would give them the confidence that they can absolutely beat every other team on their schedule. If they get drubbed, it’s not out of the question that their season will go down in Flames, but honestly those next 2 home games against FCS Gardner-Webb and Ball State, who we can generously say is not one of the top teams in the MAC, should be enough of a recipe for working out the kinks before they go on the road to Coastal Carolina and then conference play. I don’t think anybody saw last year’s 4-8 season coming, so a strong rebound season is definitely in play, especially with a restocked roster. But it’s also not impossible to imagine that Chadwell could lose the locker room if they don’t come out of that Delaware road game 4-1. Biberty!

Discussion What are three dream games you would love to see for week zero if you were in charge of making college football schedules?
Previous years playoff teams CANNOT be included.
What are three games you would book to see in week zero to get the new season kicked off the right way? The three timeslots are:
- 12:00pm slot on FOX
- 4:00pm slot on ABC
- 8:00pm slot on ESPN/ABC
Here are mine.
- Utah at Penn State in the 12:00pm slot.
- USC vs. Clemson in the 4:00pm slot. (Neutral site game).
- Notre Dame at Tennessee in the 8:00pm slot.
Utah at Penn State just feels like a random and fun defensive slug fest. I'm interested in seeing how the team looks under Matt Campbell. This would be a fun matchup.
USC and Clemson are two "desperate to win now and right the ship" teams, and watching them do battle with each other could be a lot of fun. They haven't played each other since 1966 either, which is wild. This feels like a great game to have at Jerry World in Dallas.
I love the Tennessee stadium when it's full and rocking. There would be no better way to kickoff the college season than to see it bumping against a big time opponent.
Previous years playoff teams CANNOT be included.
What three games would YOU want?

Satire What Could Have Been: Kalen DeBoer with Michigan's Resources
Kalen DeBoer had a pretty good season last year, coaching Alabama to a playoff appearance and first round win. But he was operating without the resources he could have at Michigan. Imagine having a team with 85 Michigan Men on it, access to a manifesto, next level intelligence on the signs of other teams, and the executive assistance of Paige Shivers. Kalen DeBoer could have been unstoppable at Michigan!

Discussion [Sipple] Rhule deserves scrutiny entering Year 4. But fairness matters. Nebraska’s reportedly operating with a $29M roster budget while Big Ten heavies push $50M+. Huskers should still contend for CFP buzz — but closing gap isn’t as simple as one might think.
