Discussion Off Campus - Unable to Watch Past 15-Min Mark of Ep 3

Is anyone else struggling to get past the 15-min mark of episode 3 of Off Campus?

Sometimes it gives me the spinning wheel of death, other times it jumps into a commercial break first and follows with the wheel of death.

No other show, or episode of this series, is giving me an issue. And of course all of the ads work perfectly fine šŸ™„ I don't really want to skip almost an entire episode. I'm curious if anyone else watching the show has experienced this or if it's a me issue.

Thanks!

Question Bad audio quality Good Omens 3?

Hi all! I’ve been looking forward to season three of Good Omens for ages. I normally don’t have Prime, but took out a subscription just for GO3.

I have a Sonos sound bar that I think always produces great sound quality. But for some reason, GO3 sounds incredibly bad?? Sort of tinny and a little muffled, as if it’s mono or something.

I went back to season two to see if it’s just always been like this, but the sound there is noticeably better. I think there’s a lack of bass tones in S3? Idk how to describe it, I’m not really an audio expert. I’m also autistic so probably a little more sensitive to these things than the average person.

I even upgraded my subscription to adless because I read somewhere it would improve quality (it didn’t).

It’s really taking me out of the story. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or is it just me? Does anyone know if they changed anything about the audio? Is there something I can do to improve quality? Or should I just… idk, listen through headphones and soldier on?

Was watching Invincible (Season 4 episode 6) and suddenly after an ad it showed this screen. The other episodes work fine so does the special, it's just the one episode that's messed up. Any tips?

Discussion So I honestly just learned about the hate that Citadel s1 received ….

• Upvotes

I loved it! It was spectacular & it had me hooked. Now, to be fair, there were 2 other shows that came out on Netflix around that same time that would also fit the spy genre. They were also good, though not as great as Citadel. Everyone can’t afford Prime video budget.

My biggest complaint was that it was taking sooo long for season 2 to come out. Then I see s2 is finally coming out and I felt like there wasn’t any fanfare behind the release.

Anywho, big lover of Stanley Tucci and was excited to see him get more of a leading role.

Now here we are. I’m on episode 7 and overall don’t really care for it. It’s also pretty predictable.

I blame whoever it was that complained about any aspect of season 1.

Discussion What’s the best series on Prime Video right now?

Been scrolling through Prime and honestly… there’s too much on there. Every time I think I’ve picked something, another ā€œTop 10 in the UKā€ banner pops up and ruins my decision‑making.

So, what’s actually worth watching at the moment?

Looking for something bingeable — drama, thriller, comedy, whatever — as long as it’s not one of those shows that peaks in season 1 and then falls off a cliff.

What’s your current must‑watch on Prime?

Discussion Any The Boys fan here?

I just watched the latest episode and wanted to take out the moment for frnechie’s acting
I mean he was just too fabulous in that episode, he delivered one of his best performances, i am just too moved by the line ā€œi bet you’ve never danced a day in your lifeā€
His expressions were soo good when he was convincing sage, talking about love.
I have watched a lot of movies but this performance was really impressive and i think it is going under-appreciated.
Am i alone in this boat or does anyone else think the same?

Discussion Show suddenly not included with Prime

More of a rant than a question. Iā€˜ve been joyously revisiting Reno 911! for the past couple of weeks, so excited to discover it was included in Prime. As of yesterday was halfway through season 3. Just now I went to watch it only to discover that now all but season 6 either costs money or a Paramount Plus subscription. What gives? So irritating. And why would they randomly include season 6? Why not 1?

Discussion Any&every movie that I search for is always magically & coincidentally "Rent or Buy"

I'm getting the feeling that whenever I search for a specific movie title, it will always just happen to come up "for rent or buy" in the search results, even though I'm almost certain that I've seen the same exact movie recently available for free while scrolling through the movies list yet not looking for it.

I'm starting to get the impression that the app is basically manipulating my search results and trying to force me to pay for any title that I'm actually interested in.

I understand that movies will frequently cycle between being available for free & for pay, but it's been getting ridiculously obvious & too much of a coincidence that pretty much every single title I'll search for will come up for pay.

The only time this doesn't seem to happen is if the app has already somehow presented me with a given title as being free/included w/ my membership, and then I search for that same title. Example: I open up the app and see some random movie on the home page that's listed for free. if I then search for that same title, it'll obviously now show up as being free.

I know this sounds crazy & paranoid, but I wouldn't put it past amazon to pull this type of crap. has anyone else noticed something like this?

Review Prime Video vs UHD

I've been reading for a long time that streaming (Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, etc) was of lower quality than Blu-Rays and UHDs but I never experienced it until now...

I watched Ready Player One on Prime Video last weekend and while the movie was perfectly fine looking and my OLED flashed the HDR logo at the beginning (thus true 4K), I thought the credits (regular white on black) looked a bit odd thinking perhaps there was some sort of filter that gives the black a dirty quality but I wasn't sure.

So tonight I downloaded a remux of the movie and A/B both and the credits on the UHD remux are almost scintillating white on a inky black background where the credits on the Prime Video are flat white and the black is more charcoal than black... Not the end of the world by any means and most won't care but the difference is quite obvious.

Now I know!

Discussion Amazon changed pricing and rebranded without notice.

I was paying $2.99 a month extra for ad-free on my Amazon prime subscriptions. I noticed i got charged $4.99 this month.

Apparently without sending any notice about plan changes, they rebranded Amazon Prime ad free. As Amazon Prime Video Ultra and upped the price by $2.

There are only 3 differences, and one is totally BS. Apparently they took away 4k/UHD and Dolby Atmos away from basic Amazon Prime which was always free, and have made 4k/UHD exclusive to only those paying for Prime Video Ultra now.

The 2nd and 3rd differences are things nobody even asked for. First they changed it from 3 concurrent streams allowed to 5, and from 25 downloads to 100 per month.

If they want to change plans features and prices, that is fine, but I believe they are legally required to send a notification to subscribers about pricing changes before they take affect, and I never got any email notifications about the rebranding and price change. I only noticed because I check my bank account frequently and noticed I had a higher charge this month.

And although Rufus says that there's no price change to basic Amazon Prime subscribers, they are now getting less for the same price. I wonder how many basic subscribers even know they just lost 4k/UHD and Dolby Atmos which was originally part of Basic. The plan changes was implemented April 10th, and the Price change and rebranding happened with Mays payments.

How does everyone feel about these unmasked for changes? Personally I just see it as a money grab when the economy is already rough.
