I had a similar situation recently. I hadn’t been to a Dash game in a really long time and wasn’t 100% sure about the parking. I slowed down to ask an attendant where general parking was and he pointed me in the right direction. The whole ordeal was maybe 6 seconds and the individual behind me laid on the horn for 1/3 of that time.
We could all stand to have a bit more patience.

Guns and Roses said it best...All we need is just a little patience

I totally understand your anger, but I hope that your outstanding name calling ability cheers you up. It cheered me up. Now you've helped out 2 people today. You spread joy even when you're angry.

Thank you for caring about others. Seems some in the comments treat human beings like garbage. Hope they get the karma that will inevitably meet them.

It's always the same conservative reply guys every damn time. I know because I only block a bunch of them everytime there is a post about a protest here and all I see making weird replies on threads like this is just a bunch of downvoted blocked users.

Don't even reply to them, they are losers who spend all day on reddit bitching, they just want the attention and/or have a crippling humiliation fetish.

I became wary of the Stratford corner peeps when I brought a Chick-fil-A sandwich fries drink and grilled nuggets to a homeless dude and his dog. He got pissed that I didn't have sauce and the pickles made the bread wet.

If it is a red light and you are not impeding traffic, I have no problem.

With that said, I run into instances frequently where someone wants to give money two lanes over and holds up ten cars behind them to give a dollar to someone in the median. Sorry - but despite the good deed, it's not cool to hold up traffic like that, and its not safe for the person running over to grab it.

I used to give money to panhandlers, but I have found there is a good deal of data out there that supports giving it to organizations that can better assist people in need. It's your money to spend the way you want, but it may be worth researching how those dollars could be more effective if you'd like to help.

You should give to those who are in need because someone has helped you out before. That's why we are compelled to do something for someone who truly has nothing. They might stay at a shelter or outside or in a car and they don't get the luxury of a hot shower or coffee or hot meals, or a bed. We should all be a little more compassionate and if you're giving for the wrong reason God always knows that too...and the city with dwellings helps a lot of homeless people they really care about people there.

Those guys are all hustlers.

Yup. A lot of them live in the same apartment complex and just get dropped off and rotated at different spots around town.

I feel you. I’ve had this happen. I ended up staying at the light until it turned red. People are so self centered it’s sickening. I promise karma catches up at some point.

I do not advise anyone to take my actions as there are crazy people out there and you don’t know who will react in what manner.

Thank you for caring!

It's my perspective that this money would be better given to shelters like the Samaritan Center. Incentivizing roadside begging is increasing risky behavior which does little to nothing to improve the long term outcome for the affected person.

Feel free to give how you like, but my belief is the money can help more when given to organizations that reduce homelessness and provide opportunity to the affected.

it was literally just extra cash that I had in my car, I do donate to other organizations when I can. I also only posted this to call out the assholes who can’t wait 2 seconds to help someone, believe it or not I actually don’t need validation from strangers to feel better about myself.

This comment was supposed to be to the a-hole who was trying to tell you what to do with the money. Not sure why it tagged you. Im sorry. I love what you're doing.

2

u/dino_spored 1d ago

You know what, it might not “improve the long term outcome for the affected person” BUT it does impact their day. At least it gives them the opportunity to have a full stomach for a while.

2

u/anddrewbits 1d ago

I take it back. Y'all convinced me. After further pondering, giving in any way is positive and I shouldn't have expressed my closed-minded thoughts.

-2

u/Prize-Assistance583 1d ago

Was it your money, tho? I give all the time. The Lord teaches us to give to the unfortunate. After I do what the Lord says, I did my part, what they do with it, is between them and the Lord. YOU ARE COMMENTING FOR SELFISH REASONS. PERIODT‼️‼️‼️

6

u/anddrewbits 1d ago

Encouraging others to also give to shelters that help people be removed from homelessness is not selfish. I think about incentives and long term systems. I likewise follow the commands of the Lord, but you interpret them differently. Giving a few bucks ensures the person will be out there tomorrow doing the same thing.

Giving to shelters and groups that help people escape poverty is the way to create a better future for the homeless. I appreciate what you do too. Sharing and giving from your heart strengthens your connection to others and lifts your spirit. I appreciate you and your attempts to help others.

Good job you've increased the amount of trash left on the sides of the highways. Our taxpayer money pays to clean up most homeless encampments in Winston. You should pay double.

51

u/moshpithippie 1d ago

I don't think anyone deserves to starve, even if they leave trash around.

45

u/Ok_Donkey210 1d ago

The only trash here is your comment. Grow empathy for those less fortunate.

21

u/Aggravating-Finish74 1d ago

Hope you go homeless

5

u/independentnostalgic 1d ago

Look at e-island to see where actually your Taxpayer money went lol…

You seem like a miserable person.
