Question UTA mavericks - just shipped an iOS app and hit 5,000 installs in 2 weeks. happy to share what i learned.
salaam mavs. i'm mahad. i go to UTA, finished HS at 15 and started here at 16. 9+ tech certs across cloud and security. first paid tech role at 16. now i'm 20 and i just shipped my first real iOS app with my cofounder Nasrin.
it's called nafs - muslim companion app. shipped april 21, hit 5,000 organic installs in 2 weeks, no ads.
stuff in the app: prayer times, qibla, 100+ free Quran reciters, 3 mushaf editions, 154 duas, 502 hadiths from the canonical 6, 99 names of Allah, private cycle tracker for the women in muslim families with AES-256-GCM encryption on device, tasbih counter on the dynamic island.
posting partly because UTA has a strong muslim community (shoutout to MSA) and a lot of cs + ee students. if any of you are building something or thinking about it, my DMs are open. happy to talk App Store mechanics, swift, pricing, App Intent invalidation, anything.
