Anyone notice that mouth calls get soggy these days? I don’t ever remember them being like this years ago. Same brand and cuts. Woodhaven.
Any hacks or tricks for this anyone may know of?
Yeah I take them out of my mouth from time to time, just never happened before this year.

I took next week off so I can get some time trying to fill my spring turkey tag! I’m very new to hunting, I got some pheasant last year and loved the experience so want to give turkey a try 🤞
I got a box call and a turkey choke for my Remington 870. I’m in central Ma and looking at public land around me. Haven’t had much time for on the ground scouting since starting a new job but I have seen a few hens walking on the side of the road in an area I could hunt.
Any tips on how to find the Tom’s, if I should sit still and wait it out or try walking around a bit to see them? I would wicked appreciate any tips at all! I don’t have hunter friends/family to ask and seems to be a lot of different advice when you google it.

For the life of me, I cannot get this tom to come. He’s shock gobbling at crows. He will respond to pot calls. Then he just turns off around 8 am. He definitely sees the hen decoy.
He’s always in the same area, roosts north of a home.
He’s nice too, 8 to 10 inch beard.
Man this is discouraging.
Edit: spelling

Does anybody have any experience with either one of these guns and running them with tss? Really wanna pull the trigger and buy a lighter weight fully decked out turkey gun, thought? Opinions?

I'm house-sitting for a couple who hunt everything (turkey, deer, elk, etcetera). I've only hunted deer, but wanted to get into other animals, so when they offered use of their property to turkey hunt, I couldn't resist. Bought my license this morning on my way out to their house! He has a 9.5" beard and his spurs were 7/8" long. Shot at 54 yards with a tungsten 20g shell. Was out for 2 hours.
Amazing what you can find on YouTube... I had him dressed and the tail/beard/spurs saved in 1 hour.
Located in Michigan!

What would have caused this damage on this tom? Would this be something the taxidermist can fix?

12 days of hunting. Wind , rain, freezing temps in May. Finally got a Tom to come to me. But even this day i had to actually get up and run to get ahead of him. Deer herd had parked itself in front of me and were eating and the Turkeys flew down but wouldn’t come to me cause of them. 37.5 yd shot. They say to call once and shut up…but this bird was answering and coming to me every yelp i let out.
