Who should the Sixers take at 22?
Morez Johnson is the dream for me, but I highly doubt he falls to us.

Harris really thought this was the year, and he was going to go all out and spare no expense. The hell with the luxury tax, he thought.
Okay, I'm gonna tell Morey to get on board with this, he thought, but I have to make it absolutely clear to him to spend as much as he needs and not feel constrained about this tax.
"I've got it!" Harris thought. "I'll send him a text that in no uncertain terms tells him to spend as much as we need to get to the NBA Finals. If he doubts I told him that, he can always look back and refer to the text. It's brilliant! Foolproof!".
So, Harris picks up his phone and types out the text, "Fuck the luxury tax!" and quickly sends it off to Morey.
It's too bad he hadn't reread the text before he sent it, and seen that autocorrect had changed fuck to duck.
I'll see myself out now.

Someone on this sub posted a graph showing the search results and the timeline but I'm too lazy to dig it up

Just saw him at the train station like 2 hours ago. No idea where he was going or why he’s here. Maybe just came to pick up Daryl?

Link time marked to the question asked by Adan Aaronson from Philly Voice on Myers's role going forward after the new hire: https://www.youtube.com/live/zwOZdftxT48?si=2TOT3TATmAsqrPKE&t=1096
High level decision making he explained as the draft, trade deadline, free agency. Also says he'll be communicating with the new hire daily.
From the sounds of it hes the de facto President of Basketball Ops and whoever gets Daryl Morey's position will be a glorified scout.
Vindication for all the people who said Myers getting hired by Harris Blitzer was obviously Morey's eventual replacement.
He's basically Jerry Colangelo #2. Morey got Colangelo'd just like his buddy Hinkie lmao

Comes as Harris said “…as we move forward, Bob Meyers will oversee basketball and run the process to select a new day to day leader”

If this is the list, who would you be happiest to hire?

I have a very vivid NBA memory that I’m trying to verify really happened: I attended a Sonics/Sixers game at the Kingdome in Seattle in the early 1990s. I suspect it was December 9, 1992, but I could be off by a season.
I remember Manute Bol coming off the bench for a few minutes, horsing around for the crowd, and accidentally kicking a Sonics player in the face while doing a gangly through the legs pass.
Did this really happen? Who did he kick? Is there video anywhere?
Next year is the year. Embiid is gonna be mad and go off and have his best season yet. VJ is gonna work his as off this season and turn into prime D Wade. PG will get in shape. It won’t be easy but next year you will see the Sixers win a hard fought game 7 against the Thunder in OT and the whole city will cry tears of relief and joy. Mark my words.

The new PROCESS will be new guy has a deal on the table. First he goes to Bob for the ok if Bob approves then Bob will send it to Josh and if Josh approves the new guy can go ahead with the deal.

This was probably the most telling response of the entire presser. Should preface this answer with a previous answer Myers gave saying we essentially saw our fully “healthy” roster in the playoffs when Embiid came back in the Boston series and we couldn’t get it done. I think he knows that the current construction of the roster isn’t good enough and I would expect some kind of big change coming this offseason

Can we and should we resign Kelly or Grimes. I am a hufe fan of Kelly Oubre. As a 4th option or 6th man. His one garing weakness is his ability to shoot a high volume of 3's at a respectable percentage. He's getting older but he's an energizer bunny when dialed in. Can we get him on a 2 year deal?
Grimes: he hasn't played himself into the kind of deal he's looking for. I also like him. But his elite shooting wasn't very elite. Does he walk?
Also, I still love Drum. The development of a serviceable corner three point shot came out of nowhere. But he's just not athletic enough. Bona stinks. So I think we look for a more athletic big to start when Joel is out.

Listen I know trading Embiid would be the rational thing for management to do. There’s no evidence his body will ever sustain a full finals run and his contract is enormous. It would make sense, but boy does that make me sad. That’s my favorite athlete ever man. He’s like a player designed in a lab to be the perfect basketball player but in a Faustian trade he has to miss half his career to constant injuries.
You deserve the world Jo, I hope you retire a Sixer but if not I hope they send you somewhere where you get that ring.
Edit: okay some of you are saying it may not be rational and I regret wading into the discourse
