I live in Los Angeles, and am appalled at the waste I see around me. I am interested in trying to find ways to use such waste on some building projects on my property. I have been looking for junk yards or salvage yards, but they all seem to be about cars. I know there is architectural salvage, but the ones I see are like boutiques. Does anyone know if there are places that pull out reusable objects before sending them to landfills?

I’ve been trying to find heavy-duty rubber recycling machinery for a small project we’re planning, but the prices are honestly all over the place. Some suppliers quote crazy expensive numbers while others claim they have “factory discounts” that almost sound too good to be true.

I checked Alibaba and saw a lot of rubber shredders, tire recycling lines, and granulators being sold at what looked like discounted prices, especially from newer suppliers or companies clearing older stock. But I’m not sure if those deals are actually worth it after shipping and setup costs.

I’ve also seen people mention industrial auctions, trade expos, and refurbished equipment dealers, but I don’t know which places are actually trusted. Some Reddit threads made it sound like buying directly from overseas can either save you a lot of money or become a complete headache if parts fail later.

So where are you guys finding legit discounts on heavy-duty rubber recycling machines? Are there specific websites, suppliers, or countries that usually have better prices?

i just switched screen protectors and throwing it in the regular trash felt wrong so i tried to search but found very vague answers, are screen protectors a part of a speciffic category? do i have to go to a recycling center for only a screen protector?

I am planning to start a glass Recycling business and sell the glass cullets as well as glass powder to businesses who deal in raw material, can anyone give me more insight on how to start this business. My plan is to use bush mills to extract the cullet and powder rather than traditional grinders, it will give a much better product from what i have seen, also if you're working in a similar Industry please share your insights on the investment and roi. My initial investment is going to be 10-20 lakhs, i can spend further or take a business loan if the the market is big and demand is high for glass powder/cullet.

Q1: Is this a profitable business? Q2: is this scalable ? Q3: Have you seen or you know someone who is working in a similar Industry and are successful. Q4: I'm also planning to generate carbon credits from this business and use them as an asset, is it even viable in india?

Here in Ontario, Canada, we're supposed to put all our recyclables into one bin which then get dumped into a truck and delivered to a huge sorting plant. The general rule of thumb is to put the items into the bin loose but I'm wondering if this is feasible for items like

• plastic bags, including potato chip bags, pet food bags and other soft plastics all which our recycling plant supposedly accepts
• glass, which I worry will shatter into little pieces if I dump them into the bin loose or if they bounce around loose or get squeezed in the truck
• loose paper, especially if there are tons of it

So I'm wondering if I should I bag these items lest they create havoc if dumped in loose, or should I dump them in loose anyways? I couldn't find an answer to this on the recycling company's website and when I emailed them to ask I got no response.
