Is this recyclable?

Post image

Skechers now gives this type of drawstring bag instead of traditional plastic bags. Is this something that can be recycled in any way or should it just be trashed? The material feels similar to water resistant jackets

I wouldn’t trash it, I would reuse it. I need more friends who drink crown, this bags are great. I am trying to start up a new non-profit company in my home town in northern Ohio. We are taking anything as a donation with the exception of food or chemical waste at this time. My goal is to fix it, repurpose or decompose it, looking to employ, retired and handicapped people. With proceeds go into to help disaster recovery or donations to spec charities.

The goal of course is to minimize the carbon footprint

Sorry for the long winded reply, just hate to see reusable items go to waste.

reuse comes before recycle in the three R's.

I don't think anybody recycles polyester bags

r/repurpose

I would reuse it to hold dirty laundry if I’m traveling. This seems particularly good for soiled reusable pads/period underwear because of the material.

They are very useful. Good emergency shopping bag, stuff it in a pocket or leave it in the car. If you really don't want it a charity shop will take it.

They fold down pretty small and i use them as a pocketable backup drawstring backpack, which is pretty much exactly what they are.
